Lovesick: Take the Chicken Skin Not My Heart

"What do you want to buy?" ask Bio as soon as we enter the bookstore. I chose not to heed it at all when I saw the books neatly lined up in front of my eyes as if calling my name to pick them up immediately. Impatiently, I took one or two steps faster to get to the shelf containing the collection of novels and left Bio suddenly fluttering in its place. I screamed stifled as soon as I found the wishlist of reading I was about to buy right in front of me. "Dih, dih, I'm afraid to meet a pile of novels." said Bio just behind me who was reading a synopsis of the novel I currently hold.

I'm poking indifferently, "Liarin."

I automatically turned to him when the man patted me on the shoulder, "Why not buy this? The exam is only a few months away" he said while lifting a book with the capitalized title 'national exam grilles' in front of me. With a smile the five fingers of the man raised his eyebrows.

I glanced at the interest of the book he was referring to then turned my face away from him, "No ah, if you want to buy it yourself." I said ignoring his offer just like that and carefully sorting through some of the novels on the shelf. I was glued to one of the books that had a simple cover but made me pay more attention. Then I picked it up among the other novels and when I read the synopsis no doubt the corners of my lips were attracted to it. Knowing that the storyline is not far about friendzone suddenly made me decide to bring it into my arms so that I joined another novel that I had taken first.

"Well, why are you smiling?" said Bio right next to my ear, who just suddenly made me rub the chest of the horn in shock when he heard his sudden voice. I gave him a sharp delicacy, while the one given the plot was not sensitive at all. The man just grabbed the novel I just picked up from my arms. "What's so funny?" he muttered while flipping through the book with frowning eyebrows. The man looked at me afterwards accompanied by a head that shook.

I took back the novel in his hand and pushed it away, "Ih, it's already there! Find the book you want to buy there, the important thing is not to be here" I said.

"Now, we sewot anyway?"

I ignored him and chose to go along the shelves containing the collection of novels carefully. But when my hand stretched out to pick up one of the teen novels, Bio again bothered me by calling my name from afar. The man seemed to be waving at me when I turned to him, which made me want to drown myself in the rough sea of his shy sangking because of the attention of other visitors. I raised a fist on his upper arm as the man approached me with a sinless face. "Bon, how about you buy this?" he then lifted a thick book in front of me casually.

My eyeballs almost rolled around to find the book he was offering, "Smortage!" my hiss then passed from before him with a sense of annoyance and shame entrenched in my mind. How not the man has just submitted a book on household tips staying harmonious for the newlyweds to me with a wide grin. Long time I searched for novels along the shelves with various categories but none of them were able to make me wantonly. I was looking for Bio when I thought I had enough of the book I was currently holding.

"Well, is this all?" bio asked as I approached him, "Cock just took two? He said he wanted to buy a shop."

"I was just kidding." I was embarrassed, "Nothing else seems interesting to me." My welcome reasoned. I pointed at the book he was holding with my chin. "You bought a book too?" my question is to make the man look at the book in his hand and then show it to me. Which makes me cry in horror when I know the book he chose turned out to be the last book he had offered me.

"Yes, let's read it together."

I immediately turned my face away from her, "Dih, ogah. That's what you buy so read it yourself!" I answered quickly without looking at her net. Then I decided to hide my face which suddenly heated up by moving ahead of him to the cashier. I put the book I wanted to buy on the cashier's desk. "There's a card on the deck?" I nodded, took it from my wallet and thrust it at the cashier's guard. I decided to make a member card since a year ago considering I like to buy a lot of books every time I shop.  I'm a typical person who would rather read a novel conventionally than read it through a mobile phone app.

Before long Bio also put a book on the cashier table, "These are counted as well yes, mbak." said the man while throwing a polite smile at the cashier.

"Total 297,500, deck."

Bio held my hand that was about to take out a few pieces of money from my wallet. "Let me." she said, nodding reassuringly. Not wanting to argue, I finally chose to give up and put my wallet back into the school bag that I was carrying. While waiting for Bio to pay, I spread my gaze around and nailed the gaze long enough out of the window when I saw someone who was not so foreign to me standing staring at me. "Bony?" I turned towards Bio with a question mark expression. "I called daritadi. What the hell are you doing?"

Hearing Bio's words made me turn around and look in the same direction as the last time I saw a familiar figure in my memory. But unfortunately, as soon as I was about to confirm the truth of my vision it turned out that person was no longer there."Are we out now or is there something you want to buy again?" tanya Bio got my attention sucked towards her. I shook my head quickly.

"I'll be back with the money."

"No need to."

I glanced at Bio from the tail of my eye. "What are you sincere about? Two hundred thousand not a little." I asked bluntly as soon as we got out of the bookstore. I could hear the man beside me snorting with laughter.

"Yes, sincere."

"I'll change it later."

"I kissed you if you still want to change the money."

I reflexively turned to him, "Eh? N-no." I said racing and tried to keep a distance from him naturally. Bio realized my change shortly afterwards and clucked in thought. The man pulled my wrist so inevitably we walked side by side along the shopping mall.

"Hm, I can."

"What do you want to eat?"

"Whatever."

"No food is up here."

"What do you mean you want to eat? I followed you."

"I follow you too."

My eyeballs are spinning. "Huh, if we keep this up when will he come home?" I said grumbling hearing Bio's response. I went into the iron box in front of us when the elevator door opened while the man was trailing behind me. "Jude, how are we going to KFC? I suddenly want to eat chicken."

Bio pulled the hair that I tied a ponytail, "Why not talk daritadi aja anyway." he said angrily. I looked at him in annoyance and pushed his tall body to the wall of the elevator and decided to sneak between the people in the elevator and push the floor button to our destination. Without many obstacles we arrived at our destination shortly afterwards. Bio ordered between the many queues while I was asked to find a table for us to eat. Because of the many visitors who came, I could not choose the table I wanted. As a result, I took a table near the entrance door right next to the room's glass because only the table was empty at this time.

Bio came a while later while carrying the order in both hands. The man sat across from me and began to eat his food quietly as well as me, "Why are we separated?" tanyakanya. I suddenly lifted my face to look at him who was apparently watching my hand which was separating between skin and chicken.

I grimaced shamefully, "I can't eat skin."

"Why?"

I put the chicken skin on the edge of my plate when I managed to separate it. "Yes, I can't nelen." I replied as I nodded, then I recalled the trauma I had experienced when I was a child. "I've tried to learn to eat skin, but at the end of the day I've sprained. From there I started traumatizing eating chicken skin or whatever it was that was that chewy texture."

"It's funny."

I frowned at Bio's response, "What's so funny?" I asked to see him even grinning while staring at me.

Bio cleared his throat, "That's the funny chicken skin." he said with milling eyes without looking at me. While I shook my head, "Yaudah, rather than not eaten you put it on my plate" he added.

"Don't!" without a second thought.

Bio looked at me confusedly, "Why? Did he say you didn't like it?"

I gave a clumsy grin, "My hands are because." I said in a voice at the end of the sentence.

"It's okay." Bio chuckled amusedly, "I take ya?" he said again without waiting for my answer the man took over the chicken skin on my side and carried it on his plate. I stared at the chicken skin he took then at his face with a racing heart. I looked down wrongly as Bio raised his face and made our eyes contact each other. While far from the bottom of my heart, I cursed Bio's insolent attitude towards me. Because in addition to taking my chicken skin without him knowing it turns out he also took over my heart, for the umpteenth time.
