Chapter 24 - Long-Tailed Lies

After taking Azam to school, Adnan went to the company. He has a business in the furniture industry. Products owned by the Adnan company have even penetrated abroad.

On the way to the company Adnan mused. Honestly, since yesterday he kept thinking about Meyra. Especially after hearing the past story about the woman. Worse Adnan even always imagined the moment when he caught Meyra breastfeeding Amena. As a normal man, let alone loneliness like him, of course the smallest body shape of a woman attracts attention. What he saw in Meyra was quite personal.

'God! What the hell am I thinking? You're so tired of Adnan!' Adnan warned himself.

Adnan has just entered the company. He holds the CEO position in his company. All the employees took turns greeting each other when they saw Adnan passing by.

Something was strange that day. Several people were seen whispering to each other when they saw Adnan. This was seen several times by Adnan. He even saw them smiling widely. Somehow Adnan felt their smile was a mockery.

'What's wrong with everyone?' batin Adnan curious. He went to his secretary.

"Fel, what's wrong with everyone? Why do I feel like I'm being the subject of their gossip?" ask Adnan.

His secretary named Felly was smiling knots. He immediately replied, "Everyone is excited by the news about you. Said you had a new boyfriend. Everyone was so happy to hear it."

Adnan rounded his eyes. He did not expect the lies he made were even widespread.

"Ah, that... How do you know about this?" Adnan still put on a shocked face.

"There was one of the employees who was also friends with Ardy. He said your girlfriend is very pretty. We're all so happy to see you happy. Considering you've been devastated by being betrayed by your former boyfriend." Felly told me at length.

Adnan snorted violently. He walked into his room while loosening his tie. He only hoped that the news of this would not reach his family's ears. If that happened, then they would definitely force Adnan to introduce Meyra.

Adnan was worried about himself. He was worried that his family would come to the house because they heard the rumors spreading now. Adnan called Meyra.

"Hello? What's up, Ad?" meyra asked from across the phone.

"Listen, if anyone comes to the house, call me right away. Understood?" adnan.

"Why indeed? Did something happen?"

"alright. I'll call you when someone comes."

Meyra and Adnan's talks ended there. Five minutes passed. Adnan immediately held a meeting with his employees.

At three o'clock in the afternoon, Azam came home from school. He was picked up by Adnan's personal driver.

When he got home, Azam ran to find Amena. But on the way to his sister's room, Azam accidentally sees Meyra. The woman was seen sitting on the balcony reading a book.

Coincidentally before arriving at Azam's house stopped for a while to buy something. He bought the item he wanted to give Meyra.

Azam is approaching soon. He sat down next to Meyra.

"Azam! You've come home as it turns out," said Meyra.

"Yes. Where's amena, Mommy?" ask Azam.

"Amena was traveling with Agni," replied Meyra.

"I bought something for Ma'am Mey" Azam said.

"really? What'sthat?" Meyra curious.

Azam immediately took off his backpack. He took the item he mentioned from there. Then hand it over to Meyra.

Looking at the thing Azam had given him, Meyra gasped. He accepted it with a smile and thanks.

"Don't feel burdened because I'm giving this to you. Mey doesn't have to wear it either. But just wear it when you really feel like wearing it. If you wear this, you must feel safe and protected" said Azam.
