Chapter 39 Carolyn

I got up to see the monster attack.

It's a very dire situation if they all go berserk in the middle of the city right now.

It is best to hold them before they reach the city.

I raised my sword and prepared to run.

"No need to go there."

Aki stopped because she heard a voice behind me, and there Zep was still sitting like no danger was approaching.

I sat back and saw the wyvern flying in the air and would occasionally launch a breath attack.

It turned out to be true that this monster did not go berserk and only attacked bandits.

wyvern attacks the bandits inside the city while other monsters wait outside and kill the bandits who escape.

One of the white wyverns came down near us and after I noticed there was a figure riding on it.

"It looks like we found one sooner than planned."

I looked towards the wyvern that was getting down and then landed on the ground.

Someone came down from the wyvern and walked towards us.

"You gotta get out of here, this place is so dangerous I'm gonna go"

The woman was silent in the middle of the road like she was becoming a stone.

I also didn't know what to say in such shock that I forgot to breathe.

"Oh, brother."

"Carl."

She was indeed slightly changed from what I remembered but I knew from the soft voice and aura surrounding her was second to none in this world.

"You're really big brother! I'm so happy!"

Carl hugged me and I hugged him back.

It felt a little awkward for me because the last time we met she was a teenager but now she has become a very beautiful woman.

It's not that we we have a special relationship or anything like that I just think of him as my own little brother.

"I'm so happy, I'm glad to know that I'm not alone."

It must have been very hard for him to survive since that incident.

I let her cry while stroking her beautiful hair, although it was quite rough it was still very pretty.

"Hiks for a moment I thought you were all dead."

"I'm here okay? you're not alone anymore."

Carl kept crying for a while and ignored all the chaos that was going on around us.

Carl let go of his embrace and looked behind me, his eyes ending at Zep eating bread and approaching him.

He began to stroke Zep's head with his hands.

Upon learning of his mistake Carl jumps back and apologizes in panic.

"He is Zephyr he is my best friend."

"Greetings know me is Carolyn please call me Carl."

"Yep, I'm quite moved by your reunion but can we sort this out first?"

"All right let's go hunting bandits."

Carl walks towards wyvern.

"Include him is Ryu, erm I named him by that name because the color is very similar to your hair and he is also very good."

"Greetings Ryu, thank you for taking care of Carl all this time."

The Wyvern lowered his head until it reached the ground, so I stroked his head.

"Ermm it's weird that she said it was creepy."

"Eh? he said that?"

"Yes, he said he looked down for fear of being killed."

"Let's just be calm I won't do that."

"Hmph Ryu is naughty, whereas big brother is a good person, Come on up we will attack from the air."

We climbed onto Ryu's wyvern back and flew over the city.

We could see bandits running around on wyverns even though some were fighting back.

I saw the bandits then prepare a dark spear and throw it.

The spear hit right at the head of the bandit made him instantly die instantly.

"Waaahh brother is very strong now!"

It's weird to hear him call me big brother because now he looks older than me.

Zep also did the same but his accuracy was greater than me because he was basically a spear user coupled with his incredible magic sensitivity made no bandits escape from him.

He could tell that there were bandits hiding behind the ruins or the temple to die so he was the greatest terror for bandits who wanted to escape.

We continued to do the same, occasionally Wyvern Ryu would launch a breath attack towards the bandits.

I saw the man who fought with us before, it turned out that he still continued to fight with the bandits.

I helped him by attacking the bandits hiding behind him even though I was sure that he had already realized that.

Due to the huge difference in strength we quickly slaughtered the bandits and captured a few to gain information.

It was a short fight but also a long and quite exhausting fight.

We all went back to the shelter and decided to talk there.

I can't wait to hear the story like how he was able to tame this many monsters.

The monsters that remained in the city were only Wyvern Ryu the rest were stationed outside the city to keep an eye on.

Tonight the whole city is partying very festively, instead of them not grieving just that they want to get rid of this heavy atmosphere as quickly as possible.

The three of us were welcomed as heroes even though it made me uncomfortable.

We all gathered in tents that were reserved for us.

There were only three of us here so we could talk freely.

He is a tamer where he is very good at taming animals.

I saved him and managed to convince the villagers plus I killed all the rats in the village.

But Carl gets kicked out of his village for being considered a pesky carrier.

His mother and father came up to me and begged me to take care of his daughter so I asked Carl first.

I was expecting him to ask to stay in the village but it turned out that he was following me with pleasure even he left his village with a face filled with smiles.

A tamer would usually tame a monster using magic to bind the monster's freedom and would eventually obey him as a master but it turns out Carl doesn't know how to use it and just plays with them like a tame from the beginning.

He could only tame the small monsters and the stronger monsters would still attack him.

So he would often tame small animals like birds or mice and would use them to gather information.

He can also communicate with monsters in a certain way that I do not understand.

Therefore I was very surprised he could tame dozens of wyverns and many monsters.

I started the conversation from a casual thing first.

"Yes! I'm also surprised why I survived, the story is so long."

Carl started telling me everything he was going through and it made me unable to stop being surprised.
