Chapter 50 Disaster

After entering the village I could clearly feel the hostile gazes from all directions until I doubted whether this was a trap or something like that.

I kept glancing towards Carl who was talking seriously to the man who had previously stopped the beastmen, seeing from his stature and strength it seemed like he did indeed have some sort of high standing here, and Carl always convinced me to believe, so there was nothing I could do.

After walking quite a distance inside, we stopped at a building that was slightly larger than the others even though it remained shabby.

Inside there are 3 old men with various different races ranging from wolves, foxes, and bears.

I was surprised, no, the three of us were surprised because one of the beastmen with fox ears spoke a language that we normally use though a little different.

The previous man came out without a word, but I could tell that he was standing right behind the door to watch over us.

"Please forgive us for the rudeness we've done."

The fox beastman bowed his head to us which made the other two beastmen bow down.

"Pardon us also for entering your territory without permission."

We were also wrong here for trespassing, so it was only natural that we also apologized to show that we had no malicious intent.

"Hohoho, you guys are so polite, sit down."

The big beastman with bear ears turned out to be a very friendly old man, in contrast to his rough-looking stature that I felt a little guilty of misunderstanding.

We talked about our current condition but hid some things like the fact that we might be from a different world and disguised as victims of forced teleportation when we explored a ruin.

When they heard it surprisingly they believed it without hesitation, so maybe something like this had happened before or whatever it was.

"Hmmm your condition seems a little complicated, I've lived long enough, but to be honest I have no idea what happened to you."

Well that kind of answer I guessed, because we basically engineered a little bit of what we said, so it's only natural that they didn't know.

"So you said you wanted information about this place, didn't you? I can give you some information though it will probably be limited because we live while isolating ourselves, so our information is a bit closed off from the outside world."

The elders told us quite a lot of very useful information, or at least I can say this is very important information and very hard to believe as well.

The story starts from our current location, we are currently at the eastern end of the continent more precisely in one of the great forests where the beastman and elves live, he said, the area outside the forest was almost all controlled by the human side but that did not mean they hated beastmen or elves, they all turned out to be currently in a truce period in preparation to fight the disaster that would rise soon.

It is said that a few years ago there was a prophecy that said that there would be a disaster arising where the disaster would destroy the entire continent so all parties should cooperate.

The elder also recounted that at first man suggested to appoint someone as the representative of each major race as a representative and there formed a figure called the 5 heroes of the world consisting of the most powerful figure in each race, currently the five are still left to guard their respective races and will only unite when disaster has risen.

But because the territory of humans is vast and their own greed, and, they perform a unique ritual to summon heroes from other worlds who have very powerful powers that are said to have the equivalent of world heroes.

It was initially rejected by other races but because the current condition is quite emergency so it cannot be denied also that this summon is a big help when the war later, so it is not undeniable, but this will strengthen the strength of the human race compared to other races.

Because the human side refused to divulge how to perform the ritual so forced the other 4 races to secretly cooperate when the war against humans broke out so that the continent is not controlled by humans alone.

Moving topic, it has been a few years since the prophecy was issued but there is no clear sign yet, the Elders suspect that we are a sign of the emergence of the disaster.

The elder explained that it was because we had suddenly appeared and lost some of our memories, so they thought that this was due to a problem in space and time due to this disaster.

But I was a little suspicious as the wolf elder kept glancing at me with a threatening look from his eyes.

The fox elder stopped the wolf elder called Lief who made me even more curious as to why his reaction was that severe, not to mention that he mentioned something about my eyes.

Elder Kael held his head while looking at me to see my reaction, seeing that I was just sitting still, elder Kael began to speak.

"Before forgive us, we had no ill intentions and just wanted to be sure of one thing, because the prophecy said that this calamity was a figure that had red eyes that looked like blood."

After elder Kael said that, I finally understood one thing why elder Lief saw me like that, I have the exact same characteristics as the foreseen calamity that is red eyes.

I didn't say anything about it because I wasn't sure what our destination was for this place, it may be true that I was a foretold disaster even though I doubt that it was true.

"Then what are you doing now?"

Making a rejection now would only magnify their suspicions, so it was better to give in for now.

"We won't hurt or kill you like humans do, but allow us to keep an eye on you for now."

I'm surprised, if I appear in the human territory does this mean that I will be killed? just thinking about it makes me hate humans even more.

"Of course, not lazy."

Hearing that, the elders became a little relieved and the beastman who escorted us started to enter.

"Then please rest for today, you will be guided by-"

Everyone's eyes were enlarged at the same time, my body felt like it was going to be destroyed, sweat was pouring down from inside my body, my consciousness was rapidly fading so that just losing focus would make me faint, she said, my hair stood as if standing in front of a predator and just waiting to be on the prey, my head involuntarily looking towards the very far west where the existence came from, not only myself but everyone was looking in the same direction.

Elder Kael muttered little while trying to hold back his legs that had been shaking violently since then until his sweat soaked the clothes he was wearing.

Zephyr seemed to be trying hard just to stay sober and Carl had fainted in the first place, I was worried about his condition seeing his very heavy breathing.

It was a word that kept popping into my head from earlier, My instincts have never been this active, yet, I remember when my mother tried to break into my room when I brought my friend home until I couldn't sleep at night out of fear.

I myself am confused as to why I remembered that at a time like this but for sure this situation is very very serious.
