Viona stared at the huffed clock hanging on the wall. It's been 11pm but there's still no sign that Nathan's coming home. Viona had tried to call her phone but it was off and her number was always out of reach.
Viona doesn't know what Nathan is doing out there so she has to turn off her phone. Viona can only hope that her husband does not do something that endangers her life. Nathan promised to come home before dinner, but he hasn't come yet.
The originally bright sky slowly sank and was covered in black clouds, the night wind blowing fiercely as if whispering death chants. Thunder and lightning strikes craze, decorate the night in the increasingly concentrated city of Seoul. Lightning blared at each other.
The clouds slowly moved away from the clash revealing a starless and moonless night sky. The sky was getting darker, the sky moans started to sound. Drops by drops of rainwater rained down on the earth. But the woman remained unmoved from where she stood. Viona still persisted even though her body was shivering a little.
Cold, one word that describes tonight's air temperature. But Viona still refused to move. The woman looked at the sky that looked increasingly dark looking for the origin of the rain water stub came from. Seeing the increasingly heavy rain made her feel even more upset.
"Vi, come in, son. You can get sick if you stand here for too long" Hans said. But unheeded by Viona, the woman remained unmoved. "You could get your husband's scolding if he came home and found you standing here. Uncle please, come in now,"
"I'll be in soon, Uncle. Uncle better get some sleep, it's late."
"How can Uncle sleep while you're still awake and standing here alone. Uncle's gonna keep you company until Nathan gets home,"
Viona gave no answer. Instead the woman nodded her head.
It was not only Viona who was worried about Nathan's current state, but Hans as well. And Hans can only hope that nothing bad happens to him.
And in the meantime...
In different places and locations. A man appeared to lie unconscious in a humble hut where an 8-year-old boy and his grandfather lived.
Several cuts and bruises appeared all over the body including his handsome face.
The boy did not move even a little from the side of the stranger. Accompany him and wait for the man to awaken. "Daniel, isn't she awake yet?" ask the grandfather to his grandson.
Daniel shakes. "Not yet, Cake."
"Then you stay here and accompany her, she'll probably be around any minute. Grandpa will go to work. We don't have any more money and there's nothing to sell,"
"I understand, Cake. Grandfather be careful yes, and soon go home," Daniel's message which was later nodding back by his grandfather.
"Sure son, Grandpa go first,"
Susana became very quiet after Grandpa's departure. Daniel was still unmoved, the boy would occasionally massage the man's legs in front of him. Neither Daniel nor his grandfather knew the man. And by the time they found him, the man was already unconscious on the side of the road.
Daniel suddenly fumed his pants with a slightly reddened face because of the pee keblet that was no longer bearable. "I peed, I'd better go to the back first," Daniel got out of his chair and went outside to pee. Leaving the stranger unconscious.
.
.
His right eye opened slowly, occasionally blinking to adjust the light entering his retina. And when his right eye opened perfectly, the first thing he saw was something very foreign.
Nathan changed his position to sit down and then his gaze swept. He was in a strange and unfamiliar place. The place was so simple, there was no comfortable bed or soft pillow and warm blanket. Nathan lay on a bed covered only with mats.
Nathan closed his eyes. Next to his hand gripped his head that was painful and seemed to want to break. Nathan closes his right eye and tries to remember what really happened to him. But it can't, not because Nathan has Amnesia, just that his head hurts to be able to remember what happened to him.
"Eo, Sir... You're awake" exclaimed a boy looking at Nathan who had opened his eyes. "Thank God, I'm relieved now," the boy continued smiling.
"Hey, Son. Who are you and where am I now?" nathan asked the boy who was Daniel
"My name is Daniel Lee, and now Uncle is in my grandfather's shack. Last afternoon we found Uncle who was unconscious on the side of the road. And because we don't know where Uncle lives, so we brought Uncle to this place" Daniel said.
"Then where's your Grandpa?"
"He's off to work. We were both very poor so had to work hard first in order to get money to buy a bite of rice. Oya, whose Uncle and Uncle's names come from where?"
"My name is Nathan and I'm from Seoul,"
"Ahh, so Uncle is from the city. It was only fitting that Uncle had good clothes and a watch. Must be very expensive, right? Oya Uncle, this thing is yours, right?" Daniel gives Nathan a cell phone and wallet.
"Uncle can check first whether the money is reduced or not" said Daniel.
Nathan shook his head. "No need because I'm sure the numbers are still intact. Oya, where's your grandfather working at this hour?" nathan asked curiously.
"Markets. Usually at this hour trucks carrying vegetables and fruits have come. And grandfather worked as a freight worker. Actually I can't bear to see grandfather still have to work hard at his old age, but he also has no other choice. He worked to survive" Daniel said with teary eyes.
"You're not in school?"
Daniel shakes. "We have no fees. I got kicked out of school because my grandfather couldn't afford the cost, and all the kids always insulted and mocked me. Said to me, demeaned me and they also said that I didn't deserve to go to school there because I was poor." Daniel says.
Nathan's heart was filled with excitement at the boy's story. Nathan did not expect that Daniel had such a hard life when he was very young. "Then do you know where your grandfather usually works? Will you take me there?"
"But Uncle, you're sick. Why are we following Grandpa there anyway? While I could not help anything," Daniel lowered his face.
Nathan approached Daniel and stood in front of him. "We went there to get your grandfather home. About food you don't have to worry, I'll buy it for you two. So your grandfather doesn't have to work hard anymore. And do you remember where you found me?" Daniel nodded. "Is there a black car?" daniel nodded again.
"Take me there first and then we'll pick up your grandfather,"
Daniel nodded. "All right, sir,"
-
"Ohhhhh,"
They just kept quiet as if they were enjoying the inhumane show the man was doing.
Cacians and makians rained down on the old man who looked fragile and helpless. Even he could only remain silent even though he was being bullied and ill-treated. "Hey, Old Man!! You'd better just go because this place is mine, if you want to work here you'll have to pay me taxes! YOU UNDERSTAND!!"
"Haha. Look at Boss, you're scaring him. She almost cried because of you,"
"That's really Boss. And how about we get this old man to have a little fun. Getting her drunk would be a lot of fun,"
"You gave me an interesting idea. Bring the soju-soju here,"
"Ready Boss,"
The old man nodded. "Don't, please don't force me to minun arak. I have a history of internal medicine and the doctor forbade me to drink wine" the old man pleaded.
"You think I care. Hahahha, hold him,"
"Good Boss,"
The two men were knocked to the ground after getting a crushing kick on his face and chest. Like a hero, Nathan got there on time. "Bad!! Whoareyou? How dare you interfere and interfere with my pleasure. Are you tired of living Eo? all you're waiting for, go ahead and teach that guy a lesson!!"
Nathan looked cynically at some of the men standing before him who seemed to be starting to be overwhelmed with emotion and anger. "People like you are trying to teach me a lesson?" he asked with disdain. "That's right,"
Nathan's words make the man angry instead of upset. "Boss, you better get him done! Shut her mouth so she doesn't talk much anymore,"
The men did not accept and felt underestimated. Some of them immediately launched their attacks on Nathan. Their movements are very fast, strong, and orderly.
In addition, the men were able to work together very well. They don't compromise like before. But each side sent a different attack on Nathan.
One of them jumped up and lunged at Nathan like a Lion about to snatch his prey.
The big tall man sent out a clutch attack on Nathan's crown and temple.
Another man rolled his body forward toward Nathan. When it has been
near the man, he got up and launched his fist towards Nathan's heart. But Nathan is not
I get nervous because of it. He throws his body back and bersalto several times to distance himself.
Nathan managed to eliminate his opponents. This made the man and his men even more emotional. Throatier. Because they did not expect that the opponent they attacked was not as weak as expected.
Even so, they did not become desperate. Instead, they were getting more violent. With cooperation as before. But the results they get are not much different. Because Nathan was able to suppress their attacks without any difficulty at all.
The man nicknamed the cold-blooded Devil had indeed intended to vent his anger. So, for some time the bereyepacth man did not give any resistance at all. He dodged to and fro to play with his opponents.
The man also grew increasingly violent when the attacks they launched continuously hit the empty place. They are attacking their own shadow. This reality they received, made their chests seem like they were about to explode. They were tormented not playing with the roar of anger churning in the chest. Unexpressed anger, coupled with offence and annoyance because of failure to target attacks.
"With this kind of ability you are going to teach me a lesson? Even a weak lizard will not be able to knock you down, let alone a human." Said disparaging.
"If you're not a coward, fight properly. Or can you just dodge to and fro" said one of the men loudly.
"Well if that's what you want" Nathan said.
After saying so. Nathan remained silent. Though at that time from his left right, his opponents launched a hard blow. Nathan really proved his point. This time he did not dodge. When the opponent attacks from close range.
With a speed of movement that was difficult for the eyes of the man and his men to follow. The brown-sliced man, had gripped the wrists of his two opponents. Making both opponents instantly surprised instead of playing to see the results of their attacks.
Nathan pulled the corner of his lips, he smiled sinisterly.
And Nathan quickly slammed his foot into the man's stomach so that he staggered back while grimacing his stomach which became the cornerstone of Nathan's kick.
Nathan was still not finished, he landed his punch quickly at the man's temple and continued back with his kick that hit his chest.
Nathan wanted to finish the fight as soon as possible, he hunted down his opponents with his ferocious attacks. But with the remnants of his strength, the remaining three people dodged by jumping back.
Although he could breathe a sigh of relief because he managed to avoid, but it was only for a moment. Because that was when Nathan again landed his attacks on their chests and temples.
The two were thrown back and fell due to Nathan's violent impact. When they fell and rolled, Nathan again landed his kick so that the men stopped moving. Fainted.
Nathan, without caring for his victims, walked away. Satisfied. Yes he really feels satisfied now.
Nathan approached Daniel and his grandfather.
"You'd better come with me. From tonight onwards you will live in a more decent place. You can work as a gardener in my house. I'm gonna pay you a big salary, so Daniel can have a better life and education,"
Grandfather also did not hold back his tears. He was moved by Nathan's kindness. "Thank you, sir, I will definitely work very well, I promise,"
Nathan helped the man stand up. "It doesn't have to be like this. Wake up, from today we are family. And as fellow human beings it is appropriate that we should help each other. All right, we're leaving now. Because my wife must be waiting for me with anxiety" Nathan said.
And what Nathan is doing is a form of gratitude to Daniel and his grandfather for helping and taking good care of him. And angel-hearted people like the two of them deserve a better and more worthy life.
