In order to get an apology and to get Alceena to talk to him again, Dariush followed the advice of the Daddy. The choice fell on drinking poison, but not for real. He was forced to look for a material that is not too deadly to be used as a substitute medium for poison.

“I want to make up with him, but using a slightly extreme way, by pretending to drown in the lake, and please tell my lover who is in the chalet.” Dariush pointed to the wooden house he had rented. “The smallest of all lodgings here.”
