Aldrich clenched both hands as tightly as possible. Resisting the anger in his heart because he heard the very piercing words of Alceena. “Stop, Ceena! I'm not a real child in this family, but you don't have the right to insult me like that!” he shouted in a loud voice.
Alceena stays with her haughty mode. He didn't soften one bit. “You have no right to regulate me either! Want me to get pregnant with my enemy's child or another man is none of your business!” Alceena won't lose either.
“Listen, all my life, I really hate people who like to interfere. I've tried to respect you as my brother, but you're not self-conscious either! So, don't blame me if my mouth says spicy!” Alceena again warns Aldrich not to exceed the limit.
Aldrich took a deep breath. “Fine, may your insemination succeed.” He eventually relented not to continue the debate that sparked Alceena's emotions. His heart ached when getting insults from the closest people. Even just this first time hearing her step-sister say rudely.
Aldrich turned his body, opened the door and was about to exit Alceena's room. But, the woman's voice suddenly airs in her ears. And the feet stopped swinging.
“Do you happen to spread rumors if I'm barren?” accuse Alceena. If Dariush—the first suspect has been proven innocent, it's time to suspect the person who has motive to do the petty thing that happened ten days ago.
Aldrich turned his body, staring at Alceena from afar. “I like you, but it doesn't mean to do what you're accusing. It's the same that I tarnish the good name of the Pattinson family who raised me,” he explained with a face that looks serious. “In fact, I just found out if you were rumored to be barren when you got here.”
Alceena rolled her eyes as if she could not believe Aldrich's words. “Already, there go. It doesn't matter if you or not spread the rumors. But I'll make sure to find the culprit, sooner or later! Just be prepared you'll be crossed off the Pattinson family heirs list if found guilty.” He shook his hand for Aldrich to immediately disappear from his sight.
Alceena saw how her half-brother's face reacted when his mouth made a threat. Aldrich looked calm and like an innocent man. Of course, it made him even more confused whether the man was guilty or not.
Alceena stroked her stomach while thinking of other ways to make the owner of Hot News want to open his voice to her. Wherever he might want to ask for help with Dariush, the man might get bigger if he seems to need help.
As much as Alceena thought, it still ended up in Dariush being able to help her. “Haish!” Both hands ruffled the hair as only that name came to light. “Masa bodolah, looking for the mastermind can be thought of later. Now the most important thing is that I get pregnant first and viral the news so that everyone doesn't look down on me anymore.”
Alceena decided to take a break. Trying to stop thinking of Dariush who kept passing through his mind due to the drastic change in the man's treatment. And eyes opened wide again. “Why do I suddenly miss his messiness, huh? He is not fit to be cold, better to be rancid than like this,” murmured.
Alceena suddenly shook her head. “What are you thinking, Ceena! He's the biggest man on the face of the earth! Don't think about it, this is exactly what you're hoping for, a quiet and peaceful life without any distractions from Dariush.” His hands gently caressed his stomach. “If you grow up, don't be like him, huh? I'm afraid my son will be similar to Dariush for hating him too much.”
