My Husband's Ghost

My Husband's Ghost
Chapter 17 Jingmi

Jingmys

Jingmi heard a rumor that Van Rogh Costel III's family was not human but a ghost, and she told the matter to her ill father.

"Dad ! Daddy ! Dad!", call Jingmi.

The girl in white with her short haircut ran towards a large room with a door full of carvings.

CRIETTE...

"Dad!", call Jingmi closer towards Kwee Lan's bed.

Kwee Lan lay weakly with a pale face turned her head slowly to her daughter.

"Dad, do you know the news that Jia Li's husband is a ghost!" Jingmi said.

"W-what... What are you saying that, Jingmi?", asked Kwee Lan in shock.

"Right father, it turns out that Jia Li's husband is a ghost", Jingmi said.

"Oh my God ! Ghost?", said Kwee Lan in a panic.

Kwee Lan who tried to get up while holding her chest then asked again.

"Is that true what you said, Jingmi ?"

Kwee Lan coughed trying to sit on her chihonya bed.

"Where is possible" Kwee Lan said in disbelief.

"I'm not lying, father", Jingmi said.

Jingmi just stood silently looking at her father who was trying to get up from his bed.

"Uhukis... Uhuk... Uhuk..."

Kwee Lan tried to lean over her chihonya while coughing.

"Right dad, I heard it from the servants in this house, they were all talking about the dead Van Costel IV" Jingmi said.

"That's not true, and it's unlikely that Van Costel IV has passed away, the news can't be true, Jingmi." Kwee Lan said.

"If you don't believe the news then I'll call Heng and Ho over here so they can say it themselves" Jingmi said.

"Heng..., and Ho...?" said Kwee Lan in shock.

"Yes, father, the news came from the mouth of Heng and Ho who were heard by a female servant in this house" Jingmi said.

Kwee Lan was stunned to hear the explanation from her daughter Jingmi.

He just remembered that he had once told his two loyal servants named Heng and Ho to take Jia Li home, but they did not meet his daughter in the Moldovan valley.

"Who is that maid?", asked Kwee Lan.

"His name is Adela, a young girl from a poor Romanian family", Jingmi said.

"Call him here!", Kwee Lan ordered.

"Okay dad, I'll call him", Jingmi said.

Jingmi then ran out looking for her servant Adela and took her to Kwee Lan's room.

An hour later...

All of them had gathered inside the bedroom room of Kwee Lan which was very spacious in size.

Kwee Lan was leaning over her chihonya with her third wife.

"Is it true that Adela said she heard news of Van Costel IV that the man was dead?", asked Kwee Lan.

Heng and Ho nudged each other and neither dared to look at his master who looked at them with sharp eyes.

"Heng ! Ho ! Why don't you answer Dad's question ? Don't just shut up!", Jingmi snapped in annoyance.

Heng and Ho grew more and more frightened so the two did not dare to answer.

"Hangs... Ho... Tell us all about the truth of the news ! Is it true that Van Costel IV has passed away?", asked Kwee Lan patiently.

"B-right, Mr. Kwee Lan.", said Heng trembling.

"We heard the news that Van Costel IV was actually dead" Ho said.

"And the news was heard all over the area towards the Moldovan valley but we also did not see the original form of Van Costel IV" Heng said.

"Then you heard the news from who?", asked Kwee Lan.

"From a Mittei food vendor who had driven us into the Moldovan valley" replied Ho.

"When did you go to Van Costel IV's house, you didn't meet him and Jia Li?", asked Jingmi.

"No, Miss Jingmi ! We did not meet Van Costel IV or Ms Jia Li in the house" Heng said.

"Wedding ceremony!?", asked Jingmi.

"Right, Miss Jingmi ! At the house of Van Costel IV is held a wedding celebration that was attended by thousands of people and the event was almost like a festival because of its magnificence", said Ho.

Jingmi became upset and jealous when she heard the story about the wedding celebration of Jia Li and Van Costel IV.

Secretly in Jingmi's heart, there was a sense of regret for refusing the marriage proposal from the Van Rogh Costel III family.

"Is it true that you guys are saying that?", asked Kwee Lan.

"Yes, Mr. Kwee Lan, we saw with our own eyes the wedding celebration" Ho said.

"We just didn't see Miss Jia Li and Van Costel IV at the party" Heng said.

"Why didn't they invite us to the wedding, father?", asked Jingmi with a sour face.

"It is beyond our control and it is an agreement between us not to interfere in the personal affairs of the two families" said Kwee Lan.

"I mean dad !? After Jia Li got married to Van Costel IV, she should not be in touch with our family anymore!?", asked Jingmi.

"Yes.", said Kwee Lan while nodding weakly.

"What agreement is it?" said Jingmi fearfully.

"That's why I can't reunite with Jia Li forever" said Kwee Lan.

The news made Kwee Lan deeply regret his actions and intended to bring Jia Li home and inform Laoshi of the Tianba master.

A week later...

Kwee Lan gradually recovered from her pain despite not completely recovering and still looked very weak.

He can already sit on a chair even though he still has to lean back.

Kwee Lan was writing a letter on paper with a black ink pen and folded it and put it in an envelope.

"Please deliver this letter to Laoshi quickly and carefully!", Kwee Lan said, handing over the letter.

For a moment Kwee Lan fell silent as she stared at the letter she had just written.

"Don't let this letter fall into the hands of others and make sure you deliver this letter to Laoshi!", Kwee Lan ordered to his men.

"Well Mr. Kwee Lan", said Kwee Lan's men who immediately left.

The next three days...

The letter had been received by Laoshi and the teacher from Tianba had come to Kwee Lan's house.

Laoshi who had read the contents of the letter from Kwee Lan looked angry, he stood up carrying a large dragon sword while squeezing the letter in his hand.

"We can't possibly let the matter of Jia Li marrying a dead person just like that, and we should immediately separate the two" Laoshi said.

"It is indeed my fault that I have received a marriage proposal from the noble family of Van Rogh Costel III", said Kwee Lan.

Kwee Lan was seen sitting leaning against her big chair while massaging her forehead.

"How can you make a decision that is opposed by heaven and God, Kwee Lan?", asked teacher Laoshi.

"I don't know if the one that will be married to Jia Li is a dead person, Laoshi", said Kwee Lan sadly.

"You should first investigate the family's background and not directly marry your daughter to the noble family" Laoshi said.

"I knew... I-i know... If I'm wrong ! And this is because I put too much importance on my own affairs as well as the safety of this family who received the strange marriage proposal" Kwee Lan said regretfully.

"Word marriage?" asked Laoshi.

"Yes.., the wedding that Jia Li attended was very strange because when the wedding took place, the groom was not present at the wedding.", said Kwee Lan.

"Then why did you continue the marriage?" asked Laoshi.

"Because they threatened us to eliminate me, forcing Jia Li to follow the wedding ritual in a very gloomy luxury hotel" said Kwee Lan.

"Wedding rituals?", asked Laoshi, growing anxious.

"True, at the time of the marriage between Jia Li and Van Costel IV, at that time, they forced Jia Li to perform a strange ritual by drinking something that smelled of heaven.", said Kwee Lan.

Kwee Lan then looked away while reminiscing about the event on the day Jia Li's wedding was held in a special room.

She recalled Jia Li carrying a bouquet of flowers wearing a black wedding dress, and saw the shadow of her daughter keep coming to Kwee Lan's mind.

"Surprisingly again, we as the Jia Li family side are not allowed to follow where they went after the wedding is over" Kwee Lan said gloomily.

"I'll take Jia Li home!", said Laoshi.

"But the noble family is very strong, Laoshi", said Kwee Lan.

"Trust me, Kwee Lan!", said Laoshi trying to convince Kwee Lan.

Kwee Lan was so sad that Laoshi who saw her also felt the sadness of Kwee Lan.

It made laoshi not accept and began a search to bring Jia Li from the Van Rogh Costel III family.
