CHAPTER 23. LIE TO YOURSELF

Neina is watching TV right now. He loves watching cartoons. Rini let him go and did not want to disturb him. He came out of the room to look outside.

Reno who saw Rini come out, immediately followed her. Rini suddenly looked back because there was the sound of Neina's door opening again. And sure enough, he found Reno behind him.

“Rin, try to explain what really happened to Neina. Does Neina often faint like this?”, Reno asked filled with anxiety.

Rini walked to the side and sat down on a bench. “Neina has never fainted before. This is the first time”, replied Rini grievingly.

“Then, what did the doctor say?”, asked Reno who was very curious because he had not had time to listen to it.

“Neina got mild pneumonia. But the doctor said it wasn't a big deal. Giving him medicine and antibiotics insha Allah can make him back healthy again”, replied Rini.

After that, they just kept quiet. But, actually Reno wanted to ask again about Rini who had been willing to leave her. The disappointment and tightness in the chest was still Reno feeling at this moment.

“Rin, what was on your mind at the time? I still don't understand why you left me”, Reno asked.

Rini did not answer. That was a difficult question for him. He wants to be back with Reno. But, that's not possible. He is not a liar.

“I trouble Reno. We had no money at that time. I also have to pay for my children. If I only take care of you, then my children will not be taken care of”, replied Rini lying.

“So, you really asked Mama?” for money, asked Reno who caught the gist of Rini's words that had no money.

Rini nodded her head. His heart actually hurt. Reno's question really made his pride fall. Surely Reno thinks that Rini is just a matre woman who wants her money.

“After I got it, I went with my kids”, continued Rini again.

Reno's feeling is getting sicker. The woman he thought was different from the other woman, turned out to be the same. Just love for his wealth. Because of the pain, the hate is growing. Reno will still hold him. However, maybe one day Reno will repay him and make Rini regret it.

“Why have you gone so far. Not that you can be around there until I get out of the hospital?”, asked Reno again who is still curious about the reason Rini.

“What after getting out of the hospital you can directly make money? Haven't you? I have to take care of you and take care of the kids too. What about our daily needs? Did money just fall from the sky? Your mother also does not want to finance us. You see now, the proof is I made it in this city. If I still live there maybe I am still a vagabond at this time”, explained Rini at length and of course he lied. Lying to Reno and lying to herself.

The more heart tight Reno heard Rini's answer. That's not how important he is in Rini's life. Until Rini thought of him as just a person who troubled her. All Reno's sacrifices for Rini mean nothing to Rini. Though Reno left his wealth and forced himself odd jobs.

Reno went straight back into Neina's room. And Rini can only swallow her saliva. Reno did not know if her heart was also hurt had told that lie. And Rini had to pretend to be tough with Reno's cold attitude towards her.

Rini also walked away from Neina's room. He also leaned behind the wall. Then peek towards the room again. And he leaned back, breathing in, remembering everything he said to Reno just now.

Rini's tears immediately seeped into her cheeks. He could not endure the pain of his heart anymore. His body sank to the point of crouching. And he drowned his face between the folds of his hands on his knees. He cried out all the tightness he felt at this moment. No matter who is looking at it. He continued to cry until his body seemed to tremble and his crying voice was very audible.

At that time, Lucky and Ningsi had already arrived at the hospital to see Neina's condition. And they were very surprised to see the crying woman. Lucky was then convinced that it was Rini.  He approached her immediately.

“Mbak Rini”, call Lucky.

Rini raised her head as soon as she heard someone call her. The tears that had washed his face. Rini immediately stood up and hugged Lucky. He needed a backrest at that time.

“Mbak nyesel, hiks, hicks. I regret all the steps I took. Why did this have to happen to Mbak? Hiks, hiks”, said Rini very sad in Lucky's embrace.

Lucky. He also became saddened to hear Rini's heart-wrenching cry. He tries to calm Rini by rubbing Rini's back. So did Ningsih who also rubbed Rini's back.

“Did the Reno Boss say something to Mbak?”, Lucky asked.

Rini let go of her embrace. He tried to stop her crying. But it was very visible his breath was still wheezing.

Rini also recounted when Reno asked her earlier. And how Rini answered everything Reno asked. Rini said it while crying. Given how hypocritical he is.

“Already Rin. I think you did the right thing. You're not evil. They're the bad guys who gave you a very hard choice. Mbak sure if someday if not you there must be someone who dismantles all this. And Reno will definitely understand with your decision it”, said Ningsih to strengthen Rini's heart.

Rini did not answer again. He was busy with his crying. However, he heard what Ningsih said. And he still wants to hope if he can get back with Reno. But, is it possible that Reno still loves him? While earlier it seemed like Rini saw Reno hate her so much.

Especially for now Rini could not explain the real reality. Reno must have been very angry if she knew the truth. Everyone knows except him.

And in addition, if Reno has loved other women and lives happily in the future. Is it possible he got Reno back? Because no one knows when everything will be revealed. Or maybe until the end of life will never be revealed. And Rini lives on in her regrets. Sometimes he thinks if he was born from a rich family, maybe his love story will not end like this.
