Not the Idle Wife

Not the Idle Wife
Relief Melinda

Jelita was so fascinated when she saw the figure of a man who was going down the stairs. The woman was convinced that the man was the son of Aunt Melinda and Om Ganendra who was automatically her future husband.

Jelita looked at Gavin's gaze looking at her with a strange look. The man looks at it from top to bottom and back up again. It makes Jelita feel uncomfortable and follow-up see his own body from the bottom up and justify his clothes.

"Is there something wrong with my appearance? why is he looking at me like that?" inner Jelita while biting her lips and mere*mas her own hands.

"Gavin, why are you standing there? let's sit here, and introduce yourself to Jelita!" call Melinda with sharp drawn eyes, as a sign that the woman does not like the way Gavin looks at Jelita.

Gavin turned his gaze away from Jelita and stepped up to his parents, then landed his body sitting on the sofa.

"Gavin, mama asked you to introduce yourself, why are you just sitting around, son? you're embarrassed, aren't you?" melinda said in a very soft tone but with glaring eyes.

Gavin turned his face away, trying to hold back his anger on the mother. Moreover, seeing Jelita's figure was clearly far from his expectations. Let alone half of Maya's beauty, a quarter of it isn't. How not, the appearance of the girl looks very colossal with a long skirt of a big shirt wrapped around her body. The woman's hair was also pigtailed in origin and looked unkempt. The face of the girl named Jelita was also really a little rough.

"His name is beautiful, but his person really does not match the name he bears," Gavin grumbled in his heart.

"How can I show Maya that I can get more women than her, that ugly people like this?" again Gavin grumbled in his heart.

Seeing the cue from his mother's eye movements, Gavin tried to smile and stand back up. Then the man stretched out his hand towards Jelita, "I am Gavin" said Gavin, who immediately pulled his hand, without waiting for Jelita to say his name.

"Je-lita," hissed Jelita who had a weakened tone when he mentioned the word lita.

"It seems like she doesn't like me, and is forced to accept this marriage. What am I supposed to do? is my decision right?" whispered Jelita to herself.

"Now you know each other, so mom and dad decide that you're getting married next week,"

Jelita and Gavin both gasped in shock, upon hearing the decision taken by Melinda without asking first.

"Ma, isn't this too soon? he and I just met," protested Gavin, not accepting.

"Yes, Aunt. It seems like this is too soon" Jelita chimed in on Gavin's words.

Gavin stared cynically at Jelita, upon hearing Jelita's words which he thought were mere pleasantries.

"Sadly, I support my words, but I'm sure that this is what he wants. You hypocritical woman, "gavin's curse, which of course he only dared to say in his heart.

"Why my words? why is he looking at me so cynically?" jelita asked in her heart. That woman's feeling was really uncomfortable right now.

"No one can object. Mama has decided it and mama's decision is absolute. Isn't that right, Pah?" Melinda turned her gaze towards Ganendra, asking for her husband's approval.

Gavin looked at his father, hoping that he would refuse, although it was impossible, considering that his father had always heard his mother's words, because he loved his mother very much.

"Yes, your mama was right and papa strongly agreed," Gavin sighed, resignedly upon hearing his papa who supported his mother's decision.

Jelita's words elicited a different response from the three people in the room.

Melinda and Ganendra are confused, and Gavin is looking happy.

"Yes, you've finally rejected it." Gavin cheered inwardly. The man tried not to show his happy expression. " But wait a minute! does this mean he rejected me? is a man as handsome as I was rejected by such a woman?" Gavin suddenly feels his pride is being humbled by the girl he thinks is so inappropriate to do just that.

"Can't be this. Maybe later he, quaking on social media, said that he could have rejected a rich and handsome man like me. I could be more embarrassed dong, if Maya sees it," Gavin began to over-think with what is not necessarily the case.

"Why is it like that, Jelita boy?" melinda asked with both eyebrows linked together.

"Because it seems, Aunt and Om's sons did not want this marriage. A marriage based on coercion will never be good, Tan, Om." Jelita revealed her reason straightforwardly.

Melinda looked disappointed. He tried to stare at Gavin sharply, hoping that his son would open his voice and make a show if he sincerely accepted marriage with Jelita.

"Tan, please don't force your son by looking at Mr. Gavin like that!" said Jelita who could see the meaning of the gaze of Melinda on her son.

Melinda closed her eyes at a glance, then the woman let out her breath violently.

"Well, if that's what you want, Jelita. Aunt really can't force, because __"

"Who said I had to accept this marriage? I'm sincere and I'm willing to get married next week" Gavin snatched suddenly, making Melinda hang her words.

"Haish, what am I talking about? why do I say those words try? why do I feel insulted by his rejection?" gavin's mind immediately regretted the words that had just been thrown from his mouth.

"But I really feel insulted. No one can refuse me. Pretty stupid Maya, rejected me for thinking that I had nothing." again Gavin monologued to himself, feeling unwilling, and, there was an ugly girl who refused his good looks and wealth.

"Are you serious, son?" melinda asked with squinting eyes, suspicious.

"Whose face is joking, Ma? I'm very serious" Gavin said firmly and looked very confident.

"Well, if it's like that!" Melinda smiled broadly. Then, the woman turned her gaze towards Jelita. "How, Jelita? do you still want to, honey, marry Auntie's son?" melinda asked with a glittering bead of eyes, hopeful.

"Alright, Tan! I'm willing if indeed Aunt's son sincerely accepts me," concluded Jelita who was greeted with a smile and thanksgiving from Melinda's mouth.

The woman's face looked happy. Heavy burdens due to guilt on him, such as yawning somewhere, hearing Jelita's willingness to return to be his daughter-in-law.
