Yunyun follows Megumin to Arcanletia and then on her way to Axel, where she once again proves herself to be a powerful magician even with only intermediate magic. While at Axel, Yunyun had a hard time joining a party and was often found sitting alone in the Adventurers Guild. He joins the quest for the evil Host, then defeats it along with Lex and Megumin's party. After seeing how powerful Megumin's explosive magic was, Yunyun went on a journey to learn advanced magic where she met Wolbach for a bit.

Once he returned to Axel, Yunyun continued to spend most of her time alone. However, he ended up getting acquainted with Kazuma's party through their adventures in the Crimson Demons Village. He also spent time in the Wiz Magic Shop and was good friends with her. After experiencing one of Dust's seduction schemes, he befriends Vanir, though he refuses to say that he is friends with Dust. Through Megumin's attempted criminal activity, she befriends Iris (disguised as "Alice") and becomes more familiar with Chris and Cecily.

He joins Kazuma's entourage on their way to the front lines of the war to confront Wolbach. He then passed the examination to become the next Crimson Demons Village Chief with the help of Aqua, Darkness, and Aegis.

Due to his outstanding achievements, Yunyun earned the respect of the residents of Axel and his village. This slowly and slightly helped his confidence issues, culminating in him joining Aqua's quest and then assaulting her to the Demon King's Castle.
