Plain Girl Hero of Darkness

Plain Girl Hero of Darkness
The Education of the God of Death

The girl chuckled at "Ha ha ha.." she commented a slanted smile, slowly she took a breath, and wiped the blood from the corner of her lips. He then noticed that his hands were cramping.

"It's okay. I'm.. I'm still fine." The girl gripped the hilt of her sword tightly to suppress the spasms, and swung the sword in the form of a large bow. This was a barrier made with a sword. One of the sword techniques taught by Z, this defensive stance has no blind spot.

"Are you ready?" Sahut Z as the Crescent rotates around the Z hand like a stick.

The girl did not answer the question, she tightened her grip.

"You seem ready." As Z said that, the girl felt a chill on her back.

He immediately jumped to the side, and dodged the attack that appeared out of nowhere that was only a strand of hair away. The girl moved behind Z and swung her sword to fight back, but she stopped. He had to do it, because the Z figure that was in front of him was only the Z Shadow Cloning.

It turned out that the real Z had unknowingly already moved behind the girl, and Z stuck his scythe on the throat of the girl who was currently dead step. A drop of cold sweat drenched the girl's forehead.

"You can almost follow my moves, that's great. Enough for today." He said Z then after that he melted into the ground and disappeared. The oppressive air around the temple vanished with him, and the world returned to its initial calm.

"Thank you very much." The girl looked down respectfully, she looked at the ground where Z was, and thanked him.

The girl's daily schedule has been fixed. He would study continental situations, languages, military tactics, magic, swordsmanship, melee combat. Every now and then, he follows Z into the woods, and learns to hunt and cook. The education and training of the girl is what Z refers to as observing.

One day after the official observation began, the girl was told that she was a living being called a Human. The official term is more complicated, the third life form (which has sense). When the girl found out about it, she was curious about Z who was completely different from her, and she asked about it to Z.

Z explained calmly, "All right I'll tell you ... To the humans of this world, I am something akin to the God of Death."

The unexpected answer Z made the girl's eyes glow. That was because one of the many books that Z had given him was written around the subject of the God of Death. According to the book, the God of Death was a terrifying existence that reaped Human souls indiscriminately.

Giving the same death to all. Such are the final words of the book.

The girl asked back to Z if Z's soul would be harvested as well.

"No. We will only reap the souls of humans who have no self-awareness anymore, or humans who have just died." That's the answer Z.

The girl thought it was true. The Death God described in the book was a skeleton with tattered robes, whereas Z was a shadow that trembled like a ghostly flame. If the girl had to choose between Z or books, the girl would definitely believe in Z, the figure who raised and looked after her.

The girl lamented in her heart that not everything written in the book was true.

On another day in the near future, after completing the sword science training, the girl asked Z another question. The girl said Z had taught her swordsmanship and melee fighting skills, in other words killing techniques. Was it ever used?

Z once told him that humans were aggressive and ruthless creatures that would kill their own kind for reasons other than for consumption. But this girl is the only human in this temple. There was no one he could kill, so he found it strange to have to undergo such a lot of training.

After a moment of silence, Z answered briefly to the girl's question, "You'll understand when the time comes."

Z is a shadow so the Girl can't see any expression from Z, so the girl can't see how Z feels when saying that.

But at that moment-this girl in his mind he was sure that Z had a slight smile.

Recently, the girl started talking to Z in human language. He didn't know what he was studying for but since it was Z's instruction, he had to obey. The observation days passed smoothly, and the girl as well as Z continued their strange life arrangements.

"Z. My head feels stuffy, and my back feels cold. I think there's something wrong with my body." After the usual lesson ended, the girl told Z that she was not feeling well.

"Did that catch a cold?" The girl asked.

"Well... As an analogy, it's like an insect fiddling with your body, causing discomfort to your body." Answer Z.

"Ehh? Is it because I ate an ant yesterday?" The girl regretted eating ants as a snack.

"I told you not to eat ants. And the insect I was referring to was just an analogy." Z dumbfounded.

"What should I do? Am I going to die? Will Z eat my soul huh?" The girl asked innocently.

"You won't die with just that. Humans are not that fragile. But let's stop training for now, you should go back to the room and rest. If you lie down quietly, your body will recover in no time." Calling Z.

"Yes I understand." The girl nodded slowly then she staggered back to her room, and went straight up to her bed.

After a short nap, the girl felt a presence and opened her eyes. He turned around and saw a shaky Z standing before him. The girl rubbed her eyes and examined her again. This was the first time Z had come to his room.

"What's up, Z? do you want to eat my soul?" The girl asked innocently.

"I made soup for you. Eat it." Speak Z.

The girl then realized that there was a bowl in the tray that Z was holding. "Ehh ~ but I'm not hungry" he said, shaking his head.

"Your appetite is diminished because you are cold. Eat even if you are not hungry. You'll heal faster that way."

Z sat on the bed, propped up the girl, and scooped a spoonful of soup into the girl's mouth.

"......"

"What's wrong? Open mouth!" exclamation Z.

"Y-Yes." The girl nodded.

She had a tingling feeling in her heart, but the girl still opened her mouth obediently. Z slowly sent the soup into the girl's mouth, and the warmth immediately spread throughout the girl's stomach.

"Hows it? I make it tastier, so it'll taste better in your stomach." Z asked.

"Yes, it tastes good... Ehe." The girl chuckled very cute and sweet.

"What's so funny?" Z asked in wonder.

"none. Ahh ~. " The girl shook her head.

"Hmm, looks like everything's fine." Z nimbly scooped the soup into the girl's mouth. In less than ten minutes, the bowl was empty.
