[Kingdom North, Welsh Zone, Fort Larswood]

“—Kiluz, do you know? The rumored man would appear during a night without a windy moon like this."

Lloyd's guard looked up at the night sky as clouds covered the moon, and said to his companion Kiluz who was yawning.

"Huh? —Oh, you're talking about that Death God. It seems so."

Kiluz said as he yawned again.

“Hey, aren't you too relaxed?”

“Even if you say that, I don't think anyone would attack a worthless fortress like this in a remote area. You may be the only one taking this so seriously."

Kiluz looked around the makeshift wooden fort, and sneered. The faint sound of the merry soldiers could be heard from within the fortress. Lloyd sighed for lack of discipline.

It all started a month ago. A silver-haired girl in dark armor attacked the Imperial units stationed in the various territories that were captured repeatedly. The soldiers stationed in the garrison were wiped clean, and the place was searched. And now, the girl was rumored to be a Death God that could appear out of nowhere.

Perhaps the gods were watching them, and the units in the Welsh had not been attacked.

“Even if it's true, you guys are too relaxed—”

"Wait! —Is there any movement in the grass?”

Kiluz put his finger on his lips, gesturing for silence. Lloyd thought he was playing around to change the topic, but Kiluz looked very serious. Regardless of what he said, he kept up well.

"I didn't see anything ... Maybe it's a spotted rabbit?"

Lloyd looked at the grass, but heard nothing.

"No, it's not that .. I'll check it."

“Are you going to be okay alone?”

“You're kidding, right? We're the only guards here, and we can't get away from the gate."

Kiluz's irritated face had the red color of a campfire. He's right, and Lloyd can't argue with him.

"You're right. Shout if you detect something. ”

“Of course.. Be careful with your surroundings as well, Lloyd.”

"I know."

Kiluz held his spear parallel to the ground, and approached the patch of grass carefully. When his figure was no longer visible, Lloyd heard a rustling sound. Kiluz may be sweeping the grass with his spear to check for oddities.

Lloyd saw a whistle hanging from his neck. If anything happens, he should immediately use it as an alarm.

A warm wind was blowing from somewhere. Lloyd was extremely vigilant, but still unable to detect any abnormalities. He slowly relaxed his nerves.

(Kiluz may be wrong. But isn't he taking too long?)

It's been over ten minutes since Kiluz went into the grass. He doesn't have a pocket watch, so this is just Lloyd's guess, but he can't go too far. This made him slightly anxious, and the rustling sound also stopped. Rumors about the God of Death suddenly flashed through Lloyd's mind.

(Haha, that's impossible. As Kiluz said, the God of Death would not come to this remote area.)

His mind rejected the idea, but his body remained honest. Lloyd knew that he was sweating coldly. His nervousness began to rise again.

“Hey, just come back. You didn't find anything after a long browse, so it's okay!"

Lloyd pretended to be calm, and called out to Kiluz in a loud voice. He would not be able to remain calm if he did not do that. But no matter how long he waited, there was no reply from Kiluz. Lloyd shouted loudly again, but the result was the same.

All I hear is the sound of crickets.

(Something's wrong, he must have heard me.)

Lloyd grabbed her whistle — then got killed.

“Fiuh, almost there. Very good, commander.”

“Ahaha, you won't get any extra even if you praise me. But you can get some good wine that we can find here. "

Olivia removes Chachamaru and stands up from the grass. Gauss followed with a bloodstained sword on his shoulder. Behind them was the army of the Autonomous Cavalry Regiment.

“By the way, how good are your eyes, Commander? Even with the campfire light, at this distance, your shot is very good.”

Gauss was struck by a corpse that had a bolt on its forehead.

“You're too excited. With enough practice, you can also do this, Gauss.”

"No, no, no, it can't happen."

"What's that?"

Different people have different things with their skills. For example, Ashton could not use the sword properly no matter how much he practiced.

Olivia stopped her thoughts, and ordered the troops to prepare the fire arrows. On Gauss' instructions, they secretly besieged the fortress, and prepared their bows.

“—Commander, we are ready. Are we going to do it?”

Gauss asked, and Olivia nodded.

“This temple has no strategic value for the Royal Army at the moment. In this case, it would be more efficient to burn it along with the people inside. It will minimize our casualties as well."

Olivia smiled gently. Gauss nodded stiffly as he looked at her.

"Do it."

Olivia ordered, and the fire arrows, rained down like meteors. The air was dry due to the dry weather, and the fort was engulfed in flames in a short period of time.

As the fortress collapsed in flames, Olivia turned her gaze to the gate.

“The survivors will probably run away from the gate, shoot them. I'll work hard too."

(The survivor)

Olivia said with Chachamaru held high. The soldiers were comforted by his words. Most enemies will die in the fire, but they must remain vigilant.

“Uwaaahhh! A fire! The fire!"

"Hurry and open the gates!"

Screams and angry cries came from within the fort. As expected, there were survivors. With the sound of the gate crossbeam being removed, the gate slowly opened. When there was enough room for one person to escape, the Empire's army started to come out.

They were hit by a rain of arrows, turning them into dead hedgehogs. Despite that, there were still soldiers who survived the volley and attacked the Royal army desperately.

“Damn it, you devil! You won't get away with this !!”

“—Hmm? I'm out of energy."

Olivia held Chachamaru on her back — and slashed with her sword towards the attacking enemy soldiers. Blood and innards splattered everywhere from the split soldier. Olivia shook the blood on her sword and sheathed it. He can hear******* the recruits behind him.

“... By the way, do you know what you call the Imperial Army, commander?”

Gauss looked at the left pauldron in Olivia's dark armor and asked. Olivia wondered why she used the term 'by the way', and replied:

“God of Death, right? It's much better than calling me a monster."

“So the monster is not good, but you are okay with the God of Death?”

"Yes!"

“They don't sound too different to me. What's your excuse?"

“Yeah, I also wonder why.”

Olivia smiled gently, and issued an order to retreat to Gauss. As Larswood Fortress burned to the ground, the Autonomous Cavalry Regiment disappeared into darkness—
