Rainbow for Aqila

Rainbow for Aqila
The Winter Long

Night greet the earth, the sun replaced the moon that has rotated to the other hemisphere, the cold felt piercing the skin into the winter in the country of four seasons

Aqila sat in front of her laptop looking at Kirana's face with flushed eyes and nose apologizing many times for not being able to take her because she was doing research in one of the villages that are quite remote

Aqila nodded many times and understood, she knew her uncle's family yesterday was unusually busy, Papa Radit got a patient in an emergency and immediately had to take action, he said, Mama Rani helps Davin take care of Naya who continues to be nauseous and dizzy due to the effects of pregnancy, while Davin himself is like his father who gets emergency patients

The difference in clocks between America and Indonesia is far from twelve hours, where Aqila currently shows eight o'clock at night, and far from Indonesia there still shows at eight in the morning

"Anyways you have to promise to heal, huh?" umpteenth time with the same sentence to ask himself to promise. Do they think promising is that easy?

"No promise but effort" Aqila replied just like the previous answers

"A what?" Aqila let out a long sigh, her cousin's internet connection was terrible, the image was not even clear, only blurry with a green background that looked like a thick tree. Not only that, his voice was disjointed from earlier making a conversation that should not have been this long because of waiting for an internet connection

"Udahlah Kir, continue his research, if you have come home later we continue to exchange news"

"Assalamu'alaikum" he said without waiting for kirana's answer to the previous statement because now even his cousin's screen began to turn black and return to the picture blur, and so on

"Ready yourself for tomorrow baby, sure yes if you can recover" Mama Intan stroked her daughter's back gently while putting a cup of hot chocolate on the table

"Thank you Ma" Mama Intan simply nodded and smiled warmly in response

The air was getting cold, the wind was blowing with a fast moving leaves of trees on the side of the road, behind the window of his room Aqila stared at the moon that was shining brightly towards the winter

"O you who promise to be a rainbow forever, you have proven to me that rainbows are only temporary, how are you doing there? Already sadarkah? Or still lulled in nature with a beautiful dream? Can I still collect your promise someday? Or you remind me of that promise. Let's see how destiny goes now, I believe that God's plan is still the best even though it was filled with tears like this"

In the darkness of the night, with the moon and the gusts of the winter wind, the son of man delivers longing, longing for someone far away, whispering through the wind that delivers a million flavors through the thick road of the night, and, with a heart that feels frozen as cold as the winter that enters December, a longing that is more than a longing but a patience and a wait with an end that somehow awaits ahead there, only God the owner of the scenario knows

.

A beautiful place with various flowers of various types and colors surrounding it, the rush of water was heard flowing with the sound of birds chirping, creating an atmosphere that was really so soothing

In his subconscious Naufal dreamed as if he was in a beautiful and comfortable place, a place he might have never seen before, so soothing the atmosphere, so much, but in contrast to his heart that actually felt anxious like losing something

Wh who? Who her? The woman, a woman who was often present in her dreams, was only a faceless voice that she could clearly see, a figure dressed in pure white with a matching hijab waving her hands, the memory of the figure was like there was nothing in his head, the voice felt familiar yet who was he? When Naufal tried to run reaching him the figure moved away like it could not be overtaken

Only tears could come out of the corner of her eyes

"What do you cry about in your sleep, son?" Abi Umar who had just finished reading the Qur'an beside his son grabbed a piece of tissue on the nightstand and gently wiped away Naufal's tears

"You cry for him? Come to realize, let's get up, chase him, convince him, don't just close your eyes and cry like this" Unknowingly the tears that Abi Umar rarely let out, she said, it just slid just like seeing the condition of his son like this

"You used to be angry because Abi was always holding you back? Restrain you for this, this, this and that, now Abi say let's go after what you want, wake up from your sleep, so the real man who fights for his Eve, his ribs and his life companion!"

"When do you want to fall asleep like this? You've been like this for almost a month, isn't your body tired? Don't you want to make your dreams come true? Wake up son, prove to abi that you're a real man who loves freedom not being locked up in a dream down there"

"Let's wake up son, Abi misses Naufal cheerful and smiles a lot, Abi misses Naufal's words, let's wake up and reach all those dreams"

In his subconscious Naufal saw the woman growing farther away

"Prove your promise in the future" he often said

What promise?

When going to ask for an explanation the figure had gone there was precisely his abi and ummi who smiled at him and spread their hands, as if asking Naufal to go into their warm embrace

Till

Those closed eyes blinked slowly, as glare saw the light in the room

"You're conscious, son?" Abi Umar who sat beside the gurney was surprised and turned to look at his son who had closed his eyes one month finally realized from his long sleep

Abi Umar pressed a button next to Naufal's gurney to call the doctor to check on Naufal's condition

Abi Umar unceasingly expressed gratitude, his do'a was answered by the power, while Naufal was still researching this room and wondering what made him here? His entire body felt unusually stiff, how long had he been unconscious? he felt less, felt lost like someone was going away from him, someone who seemed to have his own place in his heart, trying to remember but instead his head throbbed in pain
