"So, what's our plan, brother?" asked the white-haired youth, Endel sat on the bed.
"Are you deaf?" chirped the long silver-haired beautiful woman sitting on the chair. Fusena folded her hands. "I explained it when we left."
"End... Fu-wilson-dono...." Haira, that black bob-haired girl could only mutter their names. Can't interrupt them.
"That was over a month ago! I can't remember that far!"
"Ah, right. Your memory is almost the same as a fish."
"Say that one more time!"
"You two, don't fight...."
With a fairly warm atmosphere, the three Devils exchanged words within Fusena's room. Although they had just come to enemy territory, they were not too worried.
"It's so simple." Fusena took a breath. "I'll talk to the King. Trying to negotiate peace. You two just stay quiet."
"just that? Doesn't that mean I and Ira aren't needed here?"
"This is why I don't want to explain it anymore." Fusena massaged her temple, tired of hearing Endel's question. "It doesn't mean you're not needed. There was a good chance that the King just wanted to show off his strength. That's where you play a part."
"Ah, you mean our brother will beat up the heroes? Say so dong!"
"Me-teaching's a bit disrespectful, End...."
"Your brain is pure muscle turns out."
Despite saying that, in fact Fusena was 80% sure that the King wanted some kind of show of strength. If not, a duel. That's why he took Endel and Haira. Although Endel is not very smart and Haira's shy nature, he is quite confident in the duo's strength.
"Hmm, I became curious about the strength of these Heroes. I hope they're strong."
"They're 'World's Travelers, ' of course they're strong." Fusena took out a crystal ball out of nowhere.
Inside, there are four figures. A pair of girls - one black-haired, the other blonde - and a pair of young men - had red and gold hair.
They are the Heroes; Yonaka, Erina, Izumi and Samejima.
"I don't think I need to explain them anymore." Fusena showed me the crystal ball. "Stupidly Endel, you can remember them, right?"
"Heh, of course." Endel smiled proudly. "Samejima the Sword of Fire, Lightning Archer Yonaka, Erina the Sacred Healer, and Izumi the Steel Fist."
Endel's eyes were glued to the red-haired burly youth. Rarely could he meet a strongman who fought with his bare hands. Similar to him even though he himself wears a gauntlet.
"What a weird nickname it is."
"Shut up! val said, that's cool!"
As usual, the two sisters were always fighting.
"But, Fusena-dono, why don't they have witches?" Haira also stared at the crystal ball. Wondering the absence of the role of a witch in their party.
"Eitherway. I don't know either." Fusena shook her head. "Although they had a Magic Swordsman, it also felt inappropriate not to have a magician."
"Has man only called the four of them?" Endel changed to ask.
"No. I think there's five." The silver woman shook her head. Looking towards Haira. "You know what, Haira?"
Haira nodded. His mind was now fixed on the black-haired young man beside the Princess. "The servant of the Princess."
"Eh? That kid? He is also a world traveler? Why did she become a servant?" Endel began to ask.
"e-whatever.... I-I feel something strange from her." Haira reflected back on the impression Shinnichi had put out. "D-he's 'empty'."
"empty?" Fusena rounded her eyes. I can't believe someone seems to be here. "You sure?"
Haira nodded. "Not only that. The skill is also strange... I've never seen such a skill...."
"empty? Strange skill? Weird how?"
"Endel, shut up." Fusena wanted to throw the crystal ball into her noisy sister's face. "Did the kingdom realize it?"
"It looks like it is." Haira nodded back. "His clothes have been bewitched. I can feel it...."
"Magic? What magic?" Endel asked again.
"Tracker." Funesa answered. "It's possible to know the location."
"Is he that dangerous? I could barely even notice his presence if brother didn't talk to him."
"Danger may not." Fusena put her finger on her chin. "Precious, more precisely. In war, someone seems to be able to turn things around."
"But why did the kingdom just leave him with the princess?"
"Eitherway. Maybe this is one of their tricks." Fusena thought of all kinds of possibilities. "Maybe they deliberately lured us to kidnap her."
"It can be used to be a reason for war" he continued. "We have to avoid that, no matter what."
Satan and man have been at war for decades. Fight for the land and sacrifice the soul. The history of both black parties is therefore.
Therefore, one side needs to give up. The Devil Race chose to take a higher path. They came here to negotiate peace.
As the saying goes, there are no winners in war.
Haira suddenly jerked her head. Like realizing something. "W-there's someone coming."
Endel jumped out of bed. Move his body a little. One seemed to be unable to sit still for a long time.
Fusena stay calm. He kept the crystal ball back somewhere.
"Go back to your rooms."
"Ready."
"Ba-good."
Hearing Fusena's orders, Endel and Haira nodded. If one knew that they were gathering shortly after coming to the palace, the result would not be good.
Endel held Haira's hand. Making that lolita gothic girl blush in shame. Endel, on the contrary, smiled widely as if unaware of anything.
"Then we go first."
Fusena nodded. A moment later, Endel and Haira were swallowed by the white light before disappearing. Haira's teleportation magic worked.
A few moments later, a knock was heard.
"Excuse me, your presence is requested by the King. Please get ready soon."
❂❂❂❂❂❂
Demons enter the throne room. The first impression they thought of was luxury.
The six giant white pillars in the room are covered by blue banners symbolizing the royal emblem. The golden eagle and lion holding a sword and spear. The emblem is made of real gold. Show off the wealth of the government that holds the emblem.
The chandelier on the ceiling shone faintly. Not because of the magic stone, but because of the sparkle of gold and jewels. Endel even thought that it looked like the stars.
At the end of the room, there is a large throne placed on several steps. Makes it look taller.
The throne is luxurious. No, calling it fancy seems less appropriate. The king's chair was so decorated that every inch was covered with gemstones, gold plated, or silk pads.
A middle-aged man sat on it. His expression was flat, as if he did not care about any of this. He wears a kingly robe with a purple robe. He marked his position as the supreme ruler.
To his left was a blue throne. The princess sat on it. Not as luxurious as the King, but anyway, a large collection of sapphires on top of the throne looks beautiful. His servant, Shinnichi, stood beside him. Trying to look calm and not shame her daughter.
On the right side of the King, the four Heroes stood with great authority. Despite wearing official clothes, the aura of their strength was evident from afar. Especially the red-haired young man, Izumi.
The three Demon Emissaries continued walking in. Passing the first pair of pillars. On their side, the group of Men stood.
On the left side, led by Gregory, the royal Knights lined up neatly. They all wear special armour. Shiny full plate armor. With a silver sword kept in a sword sheath with aesthetic patterns.
On the right side, dozens of nobles stood. They all wore luxurious clothing made of comfortable silk and jewelry that was more suitable for their wives and daughters to wear. At first glance it was clear that they were showing off wealth.
Of course, it was all done to show Victoria's prowess.
War does not only happen on the battlefield. By showing that Victoria had an edge - not just in military strength, but also in welfare and resources, this could be an important review in order to make the enemy surrender.
After the envoys from Grimer approached the throne, they were greeted by the King, opening his arms wide.
Fusena, Haira and Endel walk on a red carpet that looks expensive. Stretched from under the throne to the exit.
"Thank you, Your Majesty." Fusena answered. Touching his chest and then looking down. "We envoys of Grimer feel honored to be here."
"So, they're the Devil race?"
"Ugh, that's terrible."
"I think they're so scary."
"Their language is so impolite."
"Not kneeling before the King. How dare."
"It's so arrogant, you Devil."
On the right and left side, dozens of nobles were whispering. They were all offices devoted to Victoria. Almost all work as government officials. In other words, the King's right hand.
They were called by the King to participate in welcoming the royal guests. However, as Humans, of course they hated the Devil race wholeheartedly.
Endel and Haira did not react. They don't really understand Human language, so they don't react to the ridicule and insults that come out. If they understood, they would do nothing either. It is inappropriate to be angry because of such lowly words.
Fusena chose to ignore it. They are guests now. Trying to do such risky things will not end well.
"Your Majesty, before we continue. Accept this gift." Fusena receives an egg-shaped green gem from Haira. Make it visible for everyone to see.
"Are you trying to insult the King!?"
A cry was heard from among the nobles. Start another protest.
"A small gift is inappropriate for Victoria's supreme ruler!"
"Really! We are a rich country! That little gem is not worth a gift!"
Haira lowered her head. His gentle nature made him frightened if yelled at. Endel even nearly lunged and attacked them. However, he is stopped by Fusena.
"Shut up." Albert raised his voice.
According to his decree, the nobles stopped their calls.
"You're dirtying Victoria's good name" he said. His voice reached the entire room. "Fusena-dono, in my name. Please forgive them."
"Y-Your Majesty! No need to apologize to them!"
"Silent. You don't have to embarrass Victoria anymore."
Again, an attempt to raise Victoria's value in the eyes of her enemy. To the naked eye, Albert may look like a humble King. Apologizing for his subordinates.
But Fusena knew. Albert was just pretending. A king who is able to apologize to an enemy envoy, isn't that a benevolent king?
Propoganda will spread. He has earned sympathy from neighboring countries. They both hate the devil.
Fusena didn't think much of it. That kind of thing doesn't need to be thought about by him.
"What's wrong, Your Majesty." Fusena smile. Smell that jeweled egg. "This is the egg of a Jewel-Shelled Tortoise."
"""What!?"""
Almost everyone in the room was shocked to hear Fusena say. How not? In Fusena's hands are the eggs of a legendary animal. Equivalent to a Phoenix or even a Dragon.
The Jewel-Shelled Tortoise - the jewel-shelled turtle in Human language - is a highly prized turtle breed. They were a rare commodity that only appeared every hundred years. That said, the price of gems growing on their shells is greater than the budget of a small kingdom.
And now, the eggs of the legendary beast appeared before them just like that. Who is not tempted?
The nobles swallowed their spit. Albert was silent without saying a word.
In an instant, their treasures looked so small. The wealth of their lives is not worth that "little gift.
Endel tried not to let out a smug smile. But, seeing the nobles who had been so big mouth became not wrinkled made him happy.
"While it's not much, please take it." Fusena returned the egg.
This time, no one cornered him anymore. A noble received it with trembling hands. Afraid that his fat hands could crush the egg.
Albert cleared his throat. "Thank you for the gift, Fusena-dono. We'll take good care of him."
"This one is sure you will, Your Majesty." Fusena smiled gently again. It does not show that he is aware of the change in attitude of the Humans.
❂❂❂❂❂❂
After the surprise gift, Fusena explained their purpose in coming here. Peace negotiations are the main thing for his country.
The King just nodded in understanding. Of course Victoria knew, but a little formality didn't hurt anyone. He asked for time to discuss with the noble family.
According to him, the three devils withdrew from before the King. Aside from Gregory, the entire knight also walked out of the room. So do the four Heroes, Fiona and Shinnichi.
Now, in the throne room there were only the nobility, the knightly chief as well as the Great General of Victoria, and King Albert.
"So" Albert opened the discussion. "What do you think?"
"They're playing us!" A fat man with a goatee beard exclaimed directly. "They are deliberately luring us to shame us!"
"I agree with Walter-dono!"
"They're Devils! We can't trust them!"
"agree! Agree!"
Various kinds of confirmation came from the majority of the nobles there. The devil is their enemy. No need for another explanation. The hatred of the two races was already deeply rooted in their respective hearts.
"With all due respect, Your Majesty. I think we should work with them." Gregory was the first to propose a way of peace.
That unusual proposal made some nobles cast suspicious gazes at him. They thought that Gregory was siding with the enemy rather than his country.
"Let me explain." Gregory interrupted before anyone could make baseless accusations.
"The Devil is one of, if not our greatest enemies. I know, because I'm dealing with them often." Gregory began to explain. "Although the number of our soldiers exceeds their number, the individual strength makes them equal to us."
The Devils are a race of magicians. Rarely are there Devils who are not adept at using magic. On the contrary, only a quarter of the entire Human race could use magic. Gregory could not even count several times he felt cornered by demonic magic.
"After all, have you not seen the gifts they brought?" Gregory pointed towards a nobleman who had been silent earlier. He's the one holding the turtle eggs.
"I'm sure you all know how valuable the animal is to the kingdom?"
Mumbles like "right too," "after a second thought..," and such can be heard. They all started to change their minds.
"Come on! You guys are crazy?!" The man named Walter returned his opinion. "They're Devils! Once we agree on a peace treaty, they will betray us immediately!"
All eyes were on the Duke. He stroked his beard, sighing.
"How many thousands of soldiers have we sacrificed? The amount of money we have spent to finance this holy war? Are you guys just gonna let it go?"
"No!"
"Of course not!"
Walter's words continued to make the savage souls of the nobles smolder. Even though they were not soldiers, they still felt like being devoted to the country. Their common sense was blinded by a sense of pride over their kingdom.
"Then therefore, we need to repay what they did to us!" exclaim Walter. "Our soldiers are killed, we kill ten Devils! One bronze we're finished, we take one gold from them!"
""UUOO!""
"Life Victoria! The King's life!"
"Life Victoria! The King's life!"
Albert stared at his country officials who now looked like wild animals without a word. Neither agree nor oppose them.
The estoc beside him, smiled faintly. Following his Prime Minister, he too. Smilingly.
Their plan started to go well.
