Audrey chose to sit in the corner of the room, waiting for Kyle who was picking up a drink. Audrey rolled her gaze to one side of the room where there was a small stage there. A keyboard player and a singer who has a melodious voice singing a beautiful song that makes the atmosphere in the ballroom become syahdu and romantic.
"Sorry long. You wanna dance?" Kyle asked while offering Audrey a glass of red-colored drink.
Audrey shook her head quickly still while commenting on the smile on her lips.
"By the way, thank you for the three words you tucked inside that red bag" said Audrey, who immediately made Kyle rub his own nape.
"You found him?"
"It's not me. But it was my father who found it," Audrey replied, which immediately made Kyle widen his eyes.
"But Papa hasn't read his poetry and papa just asks, who is Kyle?" Audrey made Kyle sigh in relief.
"Maybe I'd better be manly in front of your papa and not play cat-slinging again, if you want to ask you out on a date," Kyle said slightly chuckling.
"We're not dating, Kyle! I'm just with you tonight" Audrey said quickly.
"But I really want to ask you out, Audrey!" Kyle grabbed Audrey's hand, grasped it tightly and then kissed her so affectionately.
Audrey just stared at Kyle's attitude.
"I think four years is more than enough for you to set your heart, Audrey!" Kyle stared at Audrey.
A look that even Audrey herself did not know what she meant.
"We're just friends, okay!" Audrey reminded Kyle once again about the relationship between them.
"But I want our relationship to be more than a friend, Audrey! I'm serious about this" Kyle said solemnly, still clipping Audrey's hand repeatedly.
"Sorry, but I can't, Kyle!" Audrey was about to pull her hand from Kyle's, but Kyle clasped her so tightly that Audrey was unable to let go of her own.
Kyle changed seats to be next to Audrey now. The man's hand was stretched out and wiped the tears that were welling up at the corner of Audrey's eyes.
"I don't want to upset you and regret it later in life, because I'm not a perfect woman" said Audrey, whose eyes were back in tears.
"How long have you and your fucking ex-husband been"
"Name's Will," Cut Audrey fast.
"Well, how long have you and Will been married, so you can brand yourself as an imperfect woman?" Lecar Kyle with a slight tinge of emotion.
"One year less than two months. Didn't I tell you yesterday?" Audrey replied, which immediately made Kyle cluck in disbelief.
"It's only been ten months! It wasn't long, Audrey!"
"It may not be long for some, but it's too long for Will and his family as they're time-hunting to soon have grandchildren in order to defend their inheritance."
"And Will is the only child in the Atmaja family, so they always ask me every month if I am pregnant or not. And it frustrates me!" Audrey's story begins to get emotional.
"You and Will didn't go to the doctor to get checked out? It's possible that Will has a problem here" asked Kyle curiously.
After all, in modern times like now, couples who have reproductive problems can also have offspring with various technological developments.
Audrey shook her head and smiled wryly.
"I thought so too. Because some of the doctors I've met all told me I'm healthy and okay."
Audrey paused her sentence for a moment, sipped a drink in her glass, then took a deep breath.
"Then the morning incident made me open my eyes and realize about myself that seemed to be a problem."
"What's going on?" Kyle asked impatiently
"I didn't come home all night because I had to take care of a wedding. And when I came home the next morning, I found Will sleeping in his room, in bed with a woman I knew was his secretary." Audrey laughed miserably as she continued to tell the story, even though Kyle had asked Audrey to stop and not continue the heartbreaking story.
"Will admitted that he was drunk, then framed and it was a fabrication, but I saw with my own eyes Will who was having sex with the woman and so enjoyed it." Audrey's tears just escaped on both of her cheeks. But Audrey immediately wiped it down quickly and violently.
"When I felt really disgusted at Will and at myself. I don't know!"
"And the woman showed me a testpect with two red lines a few weeks later." Audrey sipped a drink in her glass back to the toilet.
"Woman's pregnant with Will's child?" Guess Kyle whom Audrey answered immediately with a nod and a wry smile.
"Will's parents immediately asked Will to marry the woman, and I knew enough to immediately sign my divorce papers with Will, and then I went home to Papa and Mama," audrey ended the story.
"Let's get out of this place!" Take Kyle who has risen from his chair. The man guided Audrey to stand up as well, and took the woman out of the hotel ballroom quickly.
Kyle and Audrey were still silent as the elevator continued to take the two of them to the top floor of the hotel in the rooftop.
There are several lounge chairs and a swimming pool on top of the rooftop. And it's pretty quiet here, probably because it's late at night.
Kyle and Audrey sat next to each other in a long chair by the pool, and stared at the sprinkling of stars dotting the sky tonight.
"Are you looking for an escape, Kyle?" Audrey suddenly asked Kyle who was still holding Audrey's hand.
"What do you mean run? About my failed relationship with Vale yesterday?" Guess Kyle who immediately made Audrey nod.
"You suddenly approached me after your marriage to Vale was annulled. Isn't that a little"
"Any?"
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to offend you. Merely, I don't want this relationship to be just an escape from your feelings that Valeria never made," Audrey lowered her face and looked at the water ripples in the pool.
"My feelings have evaporated since I decided to cancel my marriage with Vale. And on the eve of Vale and Arga's wedding reception, when we collide for the fifth time"
"That's the fourth. The fifth has not been realized so far," sidelines Audrey corrects Kyle's kalmat and chuckles slightly.
"Well, ever since our fourth collision, I've felt something that once passed inside me when I first saw you suddenly come to the surface" kyle continued, which made Audrey raise her eyebrows because she did not understand.
"Something that ever passes?"
"I was attracted to you from the beginning I saw you at Brother Zayn's engagement party. But I don't think I'm really aware of it because I'm still focused on my relationship with Vale."
"Then after that, we often collide and accidentally meet. It seems that nature works and makes us meet often after," Kyle began to theorize.
"I think it's just a coincidence" Audrey said, refuting Kyle's theory.
"It just so happens to be intentional by nature," Kyle had already brought his face closer to Audrey's face now.
Audrey just stared at her place as if hypnotized by Kyle's soft voice and handsome face.
"I don't want to force it, but let me heal your ever-wounded heart, Audrey!" Kyle is tucking Audrey's lips.
"I-I need some time, Kyle!" Audrey replied stammered.
"How long?" Kyle smacked Audrey's lips again.
It was only fleeting, but quite deep and gentle.
"You deserve to be happy, Audrey! So let me give you all that happiness." Kyle had already cupped Audrey's face gently by now.
"I'm not the perfect woman, Kyle! I've been married. You deserve a better and more perfect girl" Audrey said with a sad look.
"You're the best so far" Kyle said solemnly.
"And I don't care about all your mass" Kyle continued in a serious tone.
"Give me time to think!" Audrey rubbed Kyle's hand that was still cupping her face.
"Because it's too sudden" Audrey continued, breathing hard.
"All right!" Kyle nodded with certainty.
"You may still not believe me, so I'll make you really believe, Audrey!" Kyle's determination was earnest before the man kissed Audrey on the forehead.
"It's late. We better get home now!" Invite Audrey who was immediately agreed by Kyle. The man and woman left the hotel and went home.
