Bianco could not guess what Beatris was talking about with Ekhtuya. He could only enter for a while while delivering drinks, and that was not their conversation at all. Ekhtuya and Beatris finally finished sooner than Bianco had expected. Thirty minutes after Bianco delivered the drink, the young lady came out first, followed by Ekhtuya behind her. His face and body looked fine. At least Bianco can miss the possibility of physical violence that occurs.
“So, Ekhtuya, I have Bianco on you, yes. Keep him well here,” Beatris said after they both stood on the outside of the bar table.
“You can trust me, Miss,” Ekhtuya said with dedication.
“I'm relieved to hear it,” welcome Beatris with a smile. The woman walked over to Bianco and whispered in his ear.
“It's a shame tonight we can't spend time together, Bian. I promise to send you a horse-drawn carriage in the near future,” whispered Beatris with her usual teasing smile.
“I will look forward to it,” said Bianco politely.
Beatrice smiled with satisfaction. The woman who owned the bar finally left the place without caring about anything else. His arrival seemed only intended to meet Ekhtuya. Several other bar employees looked at Bianco with concern. They seemed to think that the young lady had turned away from Bianco and chose Ekhtuya to be her favorite employee. Because of that Bianco became a little felt already imagined.
After Beatris left, the employees immediately followed Ekhtuya and began to wonder why the young lady was attracted to him. Nasty questions such as whether Ekhtuya will be the new manager replacing Bianco also appear and make Bianco a little irritated.
“Nona Beatris only hired me officially. We signed a regular employment contract,” explained Ekhtuya while lifting a piece of parchment that read the employment contract.
Bianco quietly glanced at the parchment just to make sure his position as manager was still irreplaceable.
“And I was hired as a waiter,” Ekhtuya explained as he glanced at Bianco, aware that the young man was quite distracted by unwarranted worries.
Bianco cleared his throat slowly then turned his face away, pretending to be busy pouring drinks.
“This is the first time there have been female workers in this bar who were recognized by Miss Beatris. All the women were usually sent to the Red House. How did you persuade him?” andres asked so curiously.
Even Adena chose to reject her two mini-mala guests just for the sake of hearing the latest gossip about Young Miss Manollete and the Giyatsa Tribe Girl. It must have been nice for Adaena to be the first to spread the gossip.
“Yah .. Miss Beatris saw that my talent would be for naught if I worked in a brothel. He said my presence in the bar could attract more visitors while preventing fights that could damage property,” Ekhtuya explained.
“I'm sure the contract is just a cover. What exactly did Beatris ask of you, Ekhtuya?” bianco asked after successfully dispersing the crowd of his employees in front of the bar. Bianco told them to go back to work and not laze around anymore.
“Hmm, that .. I cannot tell you, Bianco,” Ekhtuya said grimacingly.
Bianco eyebrows. “Better you are not involved with their family. This is my advice as your senior here. You will only complicate your own life,” Bianco's advice while harboring resentment.
Ekhtuya laughed lightly. “Take it easy, Bian. I am strong enough to be able to take care of myself,” he said calmly.
Bianco sighed in annoyance. “So you really won't tell me?” the sergeant is impatient.
“Not that I don't want to. It's just not time yet. You'll know later. This is related to my mission in Nuchas,” Ekhtuya said giving a little leak.
Bianco's forehead frowned increasingly sharply. “I remember now. From the beginning your goal was to get close to me to meet the Manolette family. Looks like you've now accomplished my goal. I'm no longer needed,” murmured slowly.
“What do you mean, Bianco? What are you actually thinking about? Don't get me wrong, I'm just doing a little business with Miss Beatris,” said Ekhtuya who is not too sure why Bianco was upset.
“In fact you used me. From the beginning you did follow me with the intention of getting close to the Manolette family,” Bianco was angry. “I thought after I had lived all this time, I could finally find the person who treated me sincerely. How stupid I am,” he continued with a snort.
Ekhtuya was no less shocked to hear the accusations of Bianco. The girl could only gawk for a few moments to understand Bianco's point of view.
“You realize your words don't make sense, do you? I've never done anything you think of. I helped you because I wanted to do it. How can you say ... ,” Ekhtuya said with a wounded expression.
“Congratulations to be an official employee here. You can go back to work,” cut the cynical Bianco.
Ekhtuya snorted and then turned away without saying anything more. That night they both refused to talk to each other.
