Chapter 6 Do Not Go Home Before Success

Zakia and Bryan could not argue with Ms Siska's decision, as they had no power at all to answer a word from Ms. Siska. If Ms. Siska gets angry again, they can be kicked out of that house. Bryan and Zakia don't know where to go if they get kicked out. 

"Hey, Lazyman! Why are you even dumbass like that? Prepare lunch for us! Are you gonna let us starve to death?" ma'am Siska snapped to Zakia who was still dissolved in an erratic mind. 

Zakia who was dumbfounded from earlier was shocked to hear the screams of her mother-in-law.

"Ba-well, Ma! I'll get it ready now!" zakia answered obediently.

Without waiting for any more orders, Zakia immediately went from the room to the kitchen to serve the lunch she had cooked since. While Brian was still sitting in the room, because as his mother said earlier, they would not get their lunch rations today.

"Then why are you still here Bryan?" asked Miss Siska in an annoyed tone.

"Didn't mom not let me and Zakia come to lunch? Did my mom change her mind?" bryan asked, his face turning bright because he thought his mother's anger had subsided.

"Who said I changed my mind? There's a job search, you think by lazing around in this house, work will come alone to you?" Ms. Siska said while staring dislikefully at her son.

"May I find work tomorrow, Ma? I am so tired today, Ma! Not to mention the problems in the office today...."

Bryan's words weren't finished yet, but his mother cut him off immediately.

"Not many reasons, Bryan! Don't expect you to laze around in this house. If you don't get a decent job soon, then I'll never let you live quietly in my house!" sniff Miss Siska seriously.

Miss Siska said that to Bryan as if Bryan was not her biological child. Bryan felt that he was not considered the blood of the flesh in the family, but it was Bryan who contributed the most in meeting the needs in the house. All the needs and also other necessities in the house was always Bryan's responsibility without any calculations at all while he had a decent income.

But now, when he was having problems and his condition was very bad, even to eat he was not allowed in his own parents' house. Bryan was dumped after he could not give any results to the family, but every time he paid, Bryan would first hand over all the salary he got for a month to his mother. After that his mother will give some blue money only to him for transportation costs to go to the office.

While Zakia, since marrying Bryan and living in his father-in-law's house, Zakia never even held money except when he was told to shop for kitchen needs by his mother-in-law. The remaining shopping money will be asked back by Ms. Siska when Zakia has returned to shopping. Ms. Siska always said that Zaskia did not need to hold money, because Zakia already lived and ate in the house for free.

"I'll get ready first, Ma! After that I'll go find a job!" bryan answered obediently.

There was no other choice for Bryan than to obey his mother. Tightness in his chest he held, pain in his head he put aside, thirst and hunger that gnawed him no longer he cared. Bryan had to find a decent job at his mother's behest.

"Prepare! Don't go home until you bring results! Remember, don't look for a job that would put me and this family to shame!" Miss Siska warned Bryan again.

She no longer calls herself "mama", but Ms Siska already mentioned "me" to herself while talking to Bryan.

"Yes you must search until you can! Anyway, if you can't bring good results yet, you don't have to go home. Don't just be a hassle!" the words of Ms. Siska made Bryan feel even more unregarded by her mother.

"Ma! What the hell is it? How come my mom gets angry? Mom's voice until you hear me in my room, what's the matter, Ma?" asked Clara, who came up with a crumpled appearance and a mouth that was still yawning from just waking up.

"Mama's upset, Clar. The culprit of the matter again brought disaster to this family!" answer Miss Siska.

"Ma! Zakia..."

Bryan was not allowed to speak at all to defend his wife.

"Ohh, that lady hick is again the problem, Ma! It's fitting that the mother from earlier nagged mulu, the princess's nap became disturbed. Later inces not ageless anymore how dong?" Clara said in a spoiled voice, but Bryan was disgusted to hear it. 

"Sorry, Clar! Mama's brother was very upset, not to mention that the hick got Bryan fired!" sahut Bu Siska again.

"What's? Bryan's fired, Ma?" clara asked in surprise, just like Bu Siska's expression when she first heard Bryan was fired.

"Yes!"

"Good, Mom! It's true what I said last night to Mama, my gut feeling is that the village lady is right, Ma!" reply Clara.

"What feeling, Ma'am? Don't always incite mama to hate Zakia, Ma'am! It's enough to make you hate me, your own son. Don't spread any more slander that can make mama even more hate on Zakia, I beg you, Ma'am!" bryan pinta.

Bryan knew all along that always incited and pitted sheep between himself and his mother was the wife of his brother. Clara always had a way of making Miss Siska always angry and increasingly hated herself and Zakia. But her mother had trusted Clara too much, until the voice of her own son, she could not listen anymore. 

"Well, who's instigating anyway, Bry? I'm telling the truth! The proof is that all my words are true, your wife is indeed the unlucky bearer for this family. Just try to get your hands on my offer to meet my cousin, maybe your life won't be like this, Bry!" clara said attention-grabbing.

"My life has been fine until now, Ma'am! And I'm very happy with my wife. You don't have to worry about it, take care of your life, and don't instigate me and Zakia with your mama again!" bryan's pissed.

He still remembers when Clara insisted on marrying him to Clara's cousin, but Bryan did not want to, he wanted to continue his relationship with Zakia. Coupled with the unexpected events of the woman that Clara will introduce to him.
