The Angkara Murka

The Angkara Murka
Book of Obong - Evil

Satria Piningit could not avoid feeling selfish and indifferent because of her favorable conditions. He came from the family of Marik Darwen who was respected in the village so that only good things he got such as the treatment of parents and children of the same age were always good and welcome to him.

He looked around and was suddenly embarrassed by the behavior of the people of this village. He felt the need to ask the truth of the news from the people of the village directly to Wong Ayu about whether it was true that the residents expelled him and his family from Obong village.

Wong Ayu's father wore a white T-shirt that was attached to his body as it was wet with sweat. His long hair poked out from the batik jug on his head. His face, although covered by the growth of a mustache and beard that is quite wild even did not show any ferocity in the water of his face. Instead there was an impression of hospitality and, a little sadness there. He smiled, "Satria's son. Wong Ayu is inside, sorted out. Just come in, son," he said when he saw the arrival of Satria Piningit who stood at the door of their house.

Satria Piningit nodded and returned the smile of the host. The father seems to have known and known Satria Piningit quite well. It was probably because not many people, including Wong Ayu's friend from this village, were friends with the family.

Without hesitation, Satria Piningit entered the house and opened the curtain of the middle room. Wong Ayu looked towards the newly arrived Satria Piningit. Unlike his father, Wong Ayu did not smile to welcome Satria Piningit. While the mother, a Balinese woman who made Satria Piningit understand where the beauty of Wong Ayu came from, looks to be wrapping cardboard boxes. Just like her husband, she looked friendly by smiling at Satria Piningit and standing up, "There's Satria apparently. I lived with Wong Ayu, son. I want to help you out in front. Sorry messy, his name also wants to move," he said as he left Satria Piningit and Wong Ayu both.

"Sorry to interrupt, ma'am," Satria Piningit told her mother. Wong Ayu's mother smiled again.

"Why do you have to go?" said Satria Piningit anxiously without further ado after Wong Ayu's mother left them both.

"Why are you here? Don't you see how many villagers are crowding this house like ants?" ask Wong Ayu. The tone is basic, tends to hold a blob of anger in there.

"They're not like ants in my eyes, more like people watching the screen," replied Satria Piningit.

"Or a puppet show," replied Wong Ayu.

The two looked at each other for a while, then laughed. Real loud. It was like blowing up everything that was on their minds.

Father and mother Wong Ayu opened the curtain and entered quickly as if surprised by what was going on inside.

However, arriving in the room separated by the curtain, the two shook their heads and smiled towards the two teenage boys who were still laughing. Both of them left their best friend couple.

In the corner there Satria Pianingit swore to see Wong Ayu's wide pair of eyes glazed over. Previously, he had never seen Wong Ayu this emotional, even when he said that he saw ghosts and gendruwo though. Wong Ayu as far as Satria Piningit was concerned in their not-too-distant friendship was a quiet girl. However, Wong Ayu was completely different today.

"I know it's not true. Why should you listen to those people. I don't think all Obong villagers have such evil thoughts" protested Satria Piningit.

Wong Ayu stared intently at her male friend, but not an angry or hateful look, but a concerned look and contained a glimmer of sadness there. "You are still innocent, Satria. You only see good things in everything and in everyone. That's also why you want to be friends with me when everyone thinks that I'm the little witch's daughter, the daughter of the mole and the shaman of black magic. Later, if you have the courage to open your mind to see the evils in the world, then your heart will also open and show everything."

Satria Piningit suddenly remembered that this speech was similar to what Priyam had told him first. He didn't know what it meant and what it meant.

"What the hell do you mean, Wong Ayu? Priyam also said I should open my mind. Opening up for what and about what?" satria Piningit asked impatiently.

"That the people of this village are hypocrites, that they are the ones who are actually full of deceit," Wong Ayu replied still holding back anger.

"I know, I know. They also annoyed me with all the things that have been done to you" I agreed.

But Wong Ayu shook her head, "No, Satria Piningit, you don't know. That's because you haven't opened your mind completely."

Satria Piningit lost his word like a soldier ran out of ammunition. Armed but unable to shoot, he has a lot in his head to reveal to Wong Ayu that not all villagers are evil. He had never even known at all the Obong villagers who characterized it, especially until the assumption of practicing witchcraft everything as Priyam and Wong Ayu said. However, Satria Piningit was silent because he could not reveal it either.

Although he still could not believe what Wong Ayu assumed about the villagers, he clearly failed to prevent Wong Ayu's departure. He has no power over this, he cannot change it.

Satria Piningit saw the back of the truck carrying Wong Ayu's furniture and belongings and her family leaving the dust behind until it was lost at the turn of the village exit road. The people gathered outside Wong Ayu's house began to slowly disperse. Some people look like relief, some are disappointed because the movie or puppet show they watched has ended. The entertainment stopped, the audience was disappointed. Satria Piningit is heartbroken. That was his last meeting with Wong Ayu.

From that day on, from that moment on, Satria Piningit realized that there was a plume of anger directed at this village and its citizens, who were quietly growing and fertile. He could not explain the reason for the feeling of anger clearly, but the feeling continued to flow slowly but surely filled his chest cavity.
