Irawan felt his blood freeze, his bones weaken, and his heart seemed to fall freely into the stomach. With his own eyes he saw bodies coming out of the grave, walking through the archway or climbing over the wall of the tomb. The young man felt his body stretch, maybe life was almost out of his body, or maybe in a moment.
Lutfi, Marwan and Handoko take refuge behind the stocky body of Pakde Narto. They also saw clearly the British sword Pakde Narto smearing the neck of the undead earlier after a stab to the head of the corpse was fruitless.
"Rpa ... Pakde, who are they? Whatisthis? What do we do?" marwan said with a trembling voice.
"We have to run and tell the others, sir," this time Lutfi spoke.
"No! Our job is to confront them" Pakde Narto replied firmly.
"But what are we really dealing with, sir? Look, pakde see ‘kan? They're the undead, zombies. There was a Pak Lurah who came back to life when I buried him a few days ago," Marwan pointed to a naked body that was still not too rotten to try to climb the wall.
Everyone there knows who the corpse is.
"Look, they are Mr. Sardi, Wanto, Yumirwan ... Our people who died not long ago. They are all alive along with other bodies that have been buried here for a long time" cried Handoko panicked.
There were dozens of corpses walking with their legs shaken, bodies that stayed half intact towards them. All that remains are bones carrying soil and worms attached to their bones. There were still many more who dug up their grave ground from within, forcing their way up, crawling out from where they had rested all this time, which was supposed to be forever, eternal.
"Irawan, if you are conscious, hurry to run to the village hall. Kab up everything there to get ready, use whatever weapons are possible. Excavation of the heads of the undead who attacked our village," orders Pakde Narto half-snapsed to Irawan who looks once almost lost consciousness of reality.
In response to this, the three friends immediately called out the name of the young man, shaking his shoulders and body, lifting him up to stand up straight.
"Irawan, leave now. You have to be conscious" Handoko even slapped Irawan in the face. The one who was slapped was startled and started to show his consciousness. "Take your machete, and get out of here, quick!" added Handoko.
Irawan picked up his machete and prepared to run as he saw the four people who were behind him holding their weapons tightly, in a combat-ready position.
"Remember the horses I taught you? Don't waste your time and energy reading other parts of the body besides their necks. Decide their heads as I did" ordered Pakde Narto. The boys looked at each other, still hesitating.
To see the doubts and horrors that loomed in the faces of the young men, Pakde Narto advanced quickly towards the dead bodies. He ransacked a body, hit his shoulder. Immediately he trashed again so that one more head rolled and the rest of his body was sprawled on the ground. This attack he continued immediately with two three slashes to one more undead as the corpse raised both hands in a position of wanting to strangle. As a result, the sword of Pakde Narto hit the hands and fingers of the undead before Pakde Narto managed to cut off his head.
"Hurry, there's no time, take them all out. Why did I teach you silat?!" the Pakde Narto Order.
Lutfi, Marwan and Handoko looked at each other, then as if giving each other encouragement, the three shouted loudly raising their machetes and machetes, considering that they were most likely the hope of the safety of this village from these demonic creatures. The three stormed their guns. Their movements were actually quite well trained by the silat techniques taught by Pakde Narto, but their attacks were not always appropriate, so they had to cut down unnecessary parts of the opponent's body. In contrast to Pakde Narto who although thick-bodied and slightly distended, but the movement is nimble and the slash is quite precise and directional.
Irawan was still standing looking at this incident. Jaw hardens. Pakde Narto saw it and retreated quickly from the fighting arena approaching Irawan, "Why don't you leave immediately? You do not need to fight them, immediately tell the villagers," said Pakde Narto.
"Pakde, the corpse ... The body was a paklik who died nine months ago," said Irawan pointed with his machete to a male corpse with a fat body sagging and rotting in many parts. His bones were seen peering behind the blackened flesh.
"He's not your client anymore. He was an undead controlled by black magic, a heretical science!" pakde Narto said loudly.
Irawan looked at the corpse coldly. He shook his head, "While alive, click evil on me. He often insulted and demeaned the family even though he always took advantage of the efforts of the father. I used to get nothing, but now, I'm gonna kill him!"
Irawan stormed towards the fat corpse and laid his machete many times, at will until he was satisfied. He screams like a madman,
"Campus you, mampus!".
After somehow how many times the machete that destroyed the rotten body, Irawan slashed the head of the deceased pakliknya. His head that fell to the ground he kicked with all his might, floated like a ball over the undead and fell on the tomb and trampled on the living corpses that were still escaping from the grave.
Pakde Narto looked at it.
...ΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩΩ...
Marwan's palms blistered, Lutfi worse, the skin of his palms peeled off because of the machete and machete continuously, hitting the bones and flesh rotting the corpses that seemed to be endless.
Irawan was exhausted and desperate. His fear may have been lost, but his life was threatened. He had been injured by the scratches and bites of the corpses, even Handoko was surrounded by three undead. His machete was stuck in the scalp of one of the corpses and was released from his slippery hands by his own sweat and blood from the flaky skin of the palm.
Pakde Narto with his agile silat movement has helped save the four men tonight as well as his silat students, but it was still not easy for him let alone those young people to precisely slash the heads of the corpses.
Handoko is suffocating. The two corpses even clawed at the shoulder and tried to bite the young man's face. Handoko screamed in pain. Pakde Narto darted to help by reading out one undead, but again his English sword hit the jaw of the corpse so that this attack did not make the corpse stop clawing at Handoko. One corpse even managed to bite Handoko's cheek hard and tear her apart.
Seeing this Pakde Narto threw his sword on the ground. He closed his eyes, took a breath and chanted a study, a science of canuragan. After that Pakde Narto shouted loudly and smashed his fist into the head of the corpse that had been stuck in his jaw.
Pakde Narto's blow had a tremendous effect. The body's head was crushed like a piece of limestone. The body of the headless corpse collapsed to the ground, followed by another corpse which was also crushed by the fist of Pakde Narto. But unfortunately, one corpse has managed to gnaw on Handoko's face which is now no longer shaped. One of his eyeballs came out of his sockets, his tongue was also ripped apart by the corpse's mouth. Handoko's blood splashed everywhere. He dies.
With annoyance Pakde Narto smashed the head of the corpse to dust.
