"I think Mom was so happy" those words slid from Keegan's mouth as we walked towards the elevator. I who did not understand immediately glanced at him cynically.
"I? Happy?"
Lately the happy word of water in the desert in my life. Me and the word happy may not be in line since... Since I was born. So in conclusion, Keegan must have seen it wrong. I don't think he can distinguish depression from happiness.
Or I'm too depressed until the expression controller on my face breaks down. Is this what makes a crazy person can suddenly cringe without any apparent reason?
"Yes." Yeah." Keegan's words put me back in the real world. "Mom looks so happy to be out of there."
"What are you talking about? I'm happy from where?"
Keegan's face changed a little. "Obviously I'm happy to have a handsome man."
Ha's?
"If she's facial and physical, it's a little inappropriate for you to take an interest in such a small boy."
Now I understand the whole conversation Keegan had.
Not angry somehow I even smiled amusedly. "You mean the trainee boy?"
Keegan glanced at a glance and then cleared her throat. "Yes. He's still too kec-"
"But he's my type" I cut him off. "The son of a bitch with his mischievous behavior and his prank." I laughed crazily. "Cute. Guys like that are cute. Than the actors you brought the kid with you were ten times more interesting."
Keegan's footsteps stopped which also made me stop.
"Why?"
"I'm saying this is for Mom's sake, I need to be more careful. Bad rumors about Mom just subsided. If word gets out, I'm close to a much younger trainee-"
"Have, already." I pat Keegan's stiff shoulder to stop her words. "This is just let me take care of it. How many idols do you think are dating in secret? There's a lot of. It's easy. You don't have to worry. I can take care of everything."
Keegan nodded tired. I'm starting to feel sorry for him. She must be worried that I will trouble her in the future about the love scandal with the smelly child, but I still want to tease her.
"If that's what you want I can't say anything more."
He's capitulating. Very amusing. I don't know why I saw his sturdy shoulder slump a little.
I can't take it anymore. My laughter gushed out. Without me realizing it was so tight that it attracted the attention of some people. I stopped him immediately. Meanwhile Keegan stood up with a confused look looking at me.
"I'm kidding" I said as the elevator doors opened. "I don't intend to date a smelly boy. Want to be as handsome as anything."
Moreover, the child was very insolent. If his actions were to tease me, he would have had no commendable intentions.
"What's my next schedule?" I asked while getting into the elevator.
"Well..." Keegan looked blankly at both of her raised palms.
Without even looking into my eyes he replied, "It seems like I left my tablet."
I know again I should be angry, but I don't know, I find him very funny right now.
"If you don't mind" he said, holding the elevator door shut, "i'm authorized to take it now."
I'm holding back the laughter. "alright. You can go."
He hurried as soon as I allowed him. My head shakes in an inexhaustible thought. If it was someone else I would feel normal if something was forgotten, but this is Keegan, a super-efficient human I've never seen do any sloppiness. But yeah, lately he's increasingly looking like an ordinary human being.
The elevator doors closed again for about 5 cm when a hand held them. A familiar face reappeared as the door opened wider. The man gave a wide grin then bowed for a moment. "Excuse me, Mom."
I smiled stiffly. "Yes" I said as he walked in and stood beside me.
Just crazy. It looks like the damn kid is calm, but I'm just stumbling around like a fool. Not for falling in love or anything. More like shock and discomfort.
"Where are you going?"
I can't stand it anymore. From his attitude, it was clear that he had a certain purpose for me. "You don't need to know where I'm going. It's none of your business, is it?" shoot me straight while glaring at him a little.
The boy laughed loudly. The kind of laughter that makes the hearts of teenagers flower. With rabbit teeth and wide thin lips.
"Mom didn't press the floor button, so I asked where I was going. Let me stress it."
Okay, Catherine, I know you're so embarrassed. But you're stuck, honey.
Okay, face remains as usual. Defend. Firm, graceful, full of self-control. Goody.
"I just press. But you stand in the way."
God fucking. That's a very clearly made-up answer. The answer of the cornered person who already does not know what to do.
The boy smiled wider. "alright. I'm sorry to get in the way." He stepped aside, then bowed slightly as his hand allowed me to press a button.
I was nonchalant and pressed the button where my room was. Then as soon as it's done the boy presses the button for himself. Thank goodness he didn't follow me. I pretended to be busy playing the phone without caring, and he didn't say anything anymore either.
My breathing began to normalize when I saw my destination floor getting closer. Yet... I'm the unlucky carrier, this elevator suddenly stopped. And a scream sounded. Damnit. That's my voice. And what are these hands.
Don't hug anyone!
