The Clutches of Lonely Vampires

The Clutches of Lonely Vampires
Shot in the dark

Day by day passed, and, the search continues to be carried out into deeper areas of the Delucia dense forest by members of the forest police as well as The Devil's Hunter which became Mark's last option before Elena's search was completely closed for safety and final reasons the time set by law. Elena may still be able to survive with the objects she prepared carefully, under the pretext that Mark is very confident his daughter can still survive. However, if at the last twilight there was no trace of Elena, the case was purely closed as a case of calamity was not found.

Mark stretched out his hand in front of the cathedral after completing his task at dusk the sixth day.

"I hope you understand my position, Leif. It's hard for my family. Elena..." Mark lowered his head, looking at the watch Elena gave him as he turned fifty.

"I owe him a lot."

Bishop Leif lamented the incident by shaking Mark's hand with a nod of his head.

"You know, Mark. The Devil's Hunter's gonna get bigger if they can find Elena in the hands of a supernatural being and you're breaking a priest's code of conduct!" Bishop Leif squeezed both of Mark's shoulders. "Go, this time I understand your guilt."

Mark nodded as he turned, "God bless you, Leif." He stepped wide towards his car. The grey Chevrolet veered violently on the cathedral exit, leaving tyre marks on the asphalt. Mark spurred his car with a tense expression, he overtakes one by one vehicle as if really anxious to lose a lot of time.

Throughout the journey that almost confiscated all his sanity. Mark keeps swearing his daughter should meet, either dead or alive.

The Chevrolet turned in the middle of a crossroads and squeaked in front of an underground merchandise store and cafe.

"ENTRY!" mark shouted without needing to get out of his car.

Jonathan, Kendrick, Elizabeth and the teary-eyed young man looked at Mark with shocked expressions. Those who wore all-black clothes complete with mountain shoes moved from the stairs after looking at each other.

"Pastor is serious" said Jonathan, a little heart felt stunned to see it after yesterday Mark came to him at night. Jonathan nodded, giving his friends a code to immediately rush into the priest's car which had not the slightest smile of spirit.

"You sure father?" Jonathan awakens and closes the car door after all his fellow demon hunters get into the car.

Mark stared intently at Jonathan as well as all the demon hunting teams before pressing down on the gas pedal.

"I'm paying you to find my daughter instead of asking for my decision!"

Jonathan took out a photo of Elena from the inside pocket of his jacket.

"Your daughter is beautiful, smart, and very talented. Elena was supposed to go for a horse race today. He likes his horse more than anything."

Muscles all over Mark's back are holding. His chest was filled with waves of taste that were so stifling. Mark took a deep breath.

"Tell me again what you know about my daughter!" insist Mark. From the expression that the man showed he looked extremely chaotic.

Bewildered in Jonathan's mind about pity. But a little bit of his heart was intrigued to tempt Mark first considering Mark is a pastor who teaches many virtues.

"What if the ability we have actually harmed all of us, or even Elena?"

Mark hit the car's steering wheel with a bang. At a furious glance, he took a deep breath, calming himself down.

"Is The Devil's Hunter a bunch of cowardly young men who waste time searching for demons for existence?" Mark pressed the horn and slammed the steering wheel to the right. The bodies of all the passengers swayed to the right dramatically before they swore a sprain at Mark.

"There's no point worrying about that now. You've already taken a risk on the job, so get on with it!" added Mark. Jonathan laughed, then looked back. His friends rolled his eyes while sniffing his shoulders.

"But I hope you don't fully expect the four of us, I'm sure you understand what I mean."

Mark nodded. "At least my decision to hire you guys already has an answer and I just need to find another option!"

They reached the gathering point that Elena had last seen before disappearing as the dark sky began to spread throughout the dense forest of Delucia.

The long-standing supernatural threats The Devil's Hunter feels are honestly not comparable to the threat of wild animals that have spread in the forest. Moreover, the existence of Mark is enough to promise their safety from soulless creatures.

"Did you bring the things I recommended yesterday, father?" jonathan asked after pulling the zipper off his jacket.

"I've all prepared. Torches, pistols, holy water and silver bow arrows!" Mark looked around with the help of a flashlight. Many footprints and car tires are imprinted on the ground. He could have guessed that the forest police had not long left the place. The thing he was waiting for. Without the forest police, they can roam the forest freely before the clear sky removes the supernatural spirits.

They prepare for their respective tasks. Elizabeth took out a piece of rope and a dagger from her lady bag. Both objects will be used to leave a trail considering they will spend the night in a dark and foreign jungle. Meanwhile, Jonathan and Kendrick began reading the map which became their search point after getting the area that has not been combed by the forest police.

On the other hand, the bespectacled man became a documentation expert. He was interviewing Mark who put up a face as if waiting for the preparation of The Devil's Hunter team was so difficult.

"We're ready!" jonathan said fifteen minutes later after the preparations had matured.

Mark nodded, stepping away from the sight of the bespectacled man with a thump. He took a silver bow from the hood of his car and put the rope on his body. With a bit of sage and a taste of kasian to the four young people in front of him. He patted their backs one by one.

"I will not impose my will, only I want the maximum performance from you. Elena my only and last daughter."

The Devil's Hunter smiled amusedly. They could feel one weakness of the priest whom many female worshippers admired by a brief nod. After Mark led the prayer and splashed holy water into the team's body. Jonathan leads them into the woods, followed by Elizabeth, the bespectacled man, Mark and Kendrick.

They move like a long journey to the top of the mountain, they carry each carrier bag that contains a lot of food supplies and camping equipment.

"Don't be noisy, focus and prepare your protective gear. We can only survive after our mission ends." Jonathan recalled before entering a busier forest with shady and tall trees. Anxiety wrapped around his stomach as the fog grew thicker, making their visibility even thinner.
