The Death Game System

The Death Game System
Chapter 20 - Results and Conversations

[PvP done! Winner, Kei Kanata!]

There was a familiar mechanical sound in Kei's ears. With that, Kei felt his surroundings distorted, just like the first time he had been brought in during a feasibility test just yet. The difference is that he is now conscious.

But, that distorted feeling was really nauseating for Kei, making him fall to his knees until the process was complete.

After going on for quite a while, the space distortion finally stopped, leaving Kei holding his head, trying to maintain his consciousness

"Kuh. Where am I now? I don't seem to change position too far, do I?" kei asked slowly to himself.

(Masters. It seems you are back in your world. For his place, this is inside Yuna's school.) Yuki explained immediately.

It made Kei aware, making him turn quickly to the right and left to check the situation around. After being convinced that there were no people around, Kei breathed a sigh of relief.

He was a little surprised when he found himself surrounded by the items he took out while fighting with Sato. From the tattered uniform of camping, the weapons he used, to the school bag that even Kei himself had forgotten about.

"Ahh, I think I've lost this!!" somehow Kei rushed to pick up and hug his AWM. Not only that, he also immediately rummaged through the contents of his bag, ascertaining whether something was missing or left behind.

"Hummmmmd... It seems like nothing is left behind. Does the world really have to be empty of this world? For Sato's corpse, I'm sure he's "removed" by the system so that's okay." whispered Kei.

But as soon as he saw her hand, it shook. His body was also shivering, including his mouth.

"What is this feeling?"

"Why am I afraid?" Kei curled up, and he felt his tears begin to flow. He who realized it could only cover his face with both hands.

"Do I feel guilty for killing people?" continue Kei.

There was no answer from Yuki, perhaps allowing Kei to answer his own question. But Kei does not look good, instead he looks fallen. Unlike the time at the selection place and while saving Yuna, this time the place was the city she called home.

Sato had destroyed it at that time, but the appearance during the day was still exactly the same as before. It was like reminding Kei again that this was reality.

After all, Kei was also just an ordinary High School student until a few days ago, so his body was not used to this either.

(Masters.) Yuki also felt what Kei was feeling, trying to cheer up. But Kei did not budge as his naive side now took over him. Because after all, humans always have this side.

(Master, no. Kei. Maybe I have no right to say this, but the world is indeed such a place. The laws of nature always apply everywhere, where the strong always eat the weak. If the weak did nothing, it was the same as just waiting for death to pick up!)

(Not unlike killing people, this world is equally cruel. The more powerful bite who don't! The rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. That's not going to change!)

(I think this is actually better, because it gives a faster end, than the real world which gives the same end result, but in a long-winded way.) Yuki continued.

It's a terrible statement, but it's all true.

Kei who heard that gasped slightly, as he recalled something in the past. It just made him smile bitterly.

"How far did you dig up my memory?" ask Kei.

(As far as you can remember, Kei. After all I have to become closer to my Master, so I also have to understand about him!) yuki replied with passion.

Kei sighed softly, then nodded.

"Yes. It's not like I never did this. How say...... Let's do it like before" Kei said again.

If there were people, surely they would ask, what does it mean to do as it used to?! But there's no one here, and Kei won't answer that question anyway.

What's really in Kei's past? No one knows.

Kei took his smartphone, and looked at the clock.

"Wine! It's like this afternoon?! Where my clothes are all broken! No, wait. I have a sports jersey today, so I better put it on first. At school I'll buy new clothes!" his yell.

(Huff, Master. Calmly slightly. There's nothing good if you're in a hurry.) Yuki responded.

But Kei who had asked the school guard made him confused. Why are there high school kids here? And again, why are her clothes tattered like that?

But Kei doesn't care about that.

***

It was a luxurious looking room, with a king-size mattress and mosquito net surrounding it. Also, the room is about 8 × 8 meters wide, with a large closet and a different bathroom again.

There is a set of electronic items, such as PCs connected to mobile phones, complete with tables and chairs that also look expensive.

On top of that chair was a person sitting with headphones on his head, smilingly staring at the lighted monitor.

"Key Kanata. Humm. What a good name. Besides, her avatar is also cute! Guess who he is. Looks like he's a high school student. Then is he younger than me? That's fun!" a sweet voice that speaks for itself.

No, because he was using a headphone kit and a profile mark on his computer, he was talking to someone. And from her voice, it sounded that she was a woman

"He also managed to beat the Rookie Killer, which means he's pretty good. I was lazy to face the robot again nyannn.." he continued by mimicking the sound of a cat.

"I don't care about your strange desires, I only care about points. So according to the agreement, I gave you information, and you gave me a point." The interlocutor's voice sounded after a long silence.

His voice was not clear, it did not sound like his original voice. Arguably, she used a voice-altering device to avoid her original voice being heard.

"Alright fine! You are impatient!" a woman who was using the headphones took her cell phone, did something. Before long, across there sounded an ordinary ringtone, making him also immediately check his cellphone.

"But, how did you win the selection? I'm quite curious about your skills and system" he said.

There was a deep breath from across the street, but he finally answered.

"OKAY. Since you give more, let's just say it's the pay. I was able to pass the selection, and was able to know the PvP fight earlier because of my skills and System. Even I also know the weaknesses of some players, including you" he said sharply.

"That's what you call information? And also, do you sell information about my weaknesses?" ask the woman again.

"depends. Since this was information about an A-level player, no one had been willing to bid for it yet. And I also put a very high price. I'm also clearly risking my life here." he explained.

"Hehh.." the woman said calmly.

Although he sounded calm, his heart was not. He asked what, when, where, and how this man looked for his weakness, but he did not think of it at all.

"I thought I didn't want to be your enemy! You are a player who has existed and survived for a long time. You should be able to move up to level S, right?" the woman asked with a small laugh, trying to calm her heart.

"Well! Like it was fun? Nnnnope. I just got an extra point, and I don't need that. Besides.." his interlocutor paused for a moment.

"People at S level are all monsters, you know?" continued. His teeth were slightly gritted, perhaps recalling the past.

There was a moment of silence, because the atmosphere that arrived became heavy.

"OKAY. I will also refrain from entering S-level then. And also, if there's anything about this Kei Kanata again, let me know immediately. And don't sell the information to anyone before me. I'll give you a high price!" said the woman happily.

"Well yeah yeah. I don't understand why you're so interested in this rookie, but without you asking, I'll find out about it." replied the person opposite while typing something a little.

"He was the one who was able to defeat the Rookie Killer in his first PvP. He might be an interesting person!" continued again.

"Hey hey! Don't put your hands on him!" protest the woman in a naughty tone.

"I won't go forward if it bothers you. Well then," came the disconnected tone of the phone, the same time after the person using the voice changer stopped talking.

The woman gave a small laugh, before putting her headphones on. He leaned back into the chair, looking up.

"Kei Kanata, I will look forward to our meeting!!" said.
