THE DEEPEST REGRETS OF ARROGANT CEOS
Delays

Jake, you're not gonna win me!

Lea also put up a sad mimicry so that the judges and prosecutors pity him. Lea felt confident she would win the hearing after all the charges were filed. Jake seemed to take a deep breath.

"Thank you for giving me a chance to speak, Mr. Judge." Jake started talking. "Have all the complaints been settled?"

Jake turned his head towards Lea and her lawyer there. It was also then that both Lea and her lawyer turned their eyes away. They don't want to see Jake's sharp eyes. A sword ready to draw the victim. They ignored Jake's eyes.

"Master Judge." Jake turns to the judge. "It seems like something was forgotten from Miss Lea about today's trial." Jake displays.

The audience who witnessed the hearing looked at each other. And so did Leah who sat there quietly. He quickly remembered what he had forgotten.

"Please, Brother Jake. Tell me what you want to say so the court doesn't look biased." The presiding judge asked Jake to say what he wanted to say.

Jake nodded. "Thank you, Mr. Judge." He glanced back at Lea and her lawyer. "I think a trial like this is tantamount to dropping the good name of the family. I will not respond to any lawsuit filed if the hearing is open. I want a closed trial without the media crew. Can the Judge make it happen?" ask Jake plainly.

The judges looked at each other. Jake's request certainly makes them think again about this divorce trial.

Jake smiled thinly. "That's not a problem, Mr. Judge. I will bear all the costs. Because to me, self-esteem is more valuable than property" Jake said, turning to Lea again.

The audience whispered to each other. They were increasingly curious about what was happening in the household of the leading man. The judge must have understood Jake's wishes. They know who Jake really is.

"The trial will open in one week. The plaintiff is asked to wait. And to the defendant please confirm the willingness of divorce proceedings. The trial is closed."

The presiding judge decides to grant Jake's request. The trial will finally be held behind closed doors next week. Which makes Jake shake hands with the judges. He was happy that his request was granted. Lea seemed to be holding back the anger at the other end.

Today's trial must be delayed. Damnit damnit! He could have used his power to delay this trial!

Lea looked upset. The trial was finally closed. The audience also started to exit the trial room. Jake came out the other door. Lara followed him from behind. So did Lea and her lawyer. The two then passed by after outside. Jake smiled at the blonde woman. He walked past Leah without any further ado.

Lea-lea, you're just embarrassing your father.

Jake kept moving toward the car parked there. The media immediately confronted him. However, Jake's bodyguards immediately gave way. Jake did not want to comment. For him this was a personal matter that not many people needed to know about. Jake keeps a good name for himself and Lea's father.
