Chapter 22 The Snake Leader

Wisanggeni was surprised to hear from Ki Bahar.., he was also surprised to see the leader of the snake group there and hundreds of snakes were currently saluting him. He looked into Ki Bahar's eyes for an explanation, but the middle-aged man looked at him with a look full of fear.

"Our leader, receive the salute of your majesty here." Maharani salutes Wisanggeni.

Wisanggeni looked at Maharani as if in disbelief, he even raised his index finger and pointed at his own chest. He spread his gaze down, the hundreds of snakes that had been with angry gazes were about to attack him and everyone who was there, they were currently beaked on him. In the distance, Wisanggeni also saw several people including the Suko group and the sepadhepokan brothers coming to look at him.

"Kisanak., the Empress and the serpents paid homage to Kisanak. Bring them back." Ki Bahar finally opened her voice and explained to the young man.

Wisanggeni took a deep breath, then threw it back out.

"Brothers all, thank you for the welcome and respect you have given me. Wake up all of you, and go back to the routine of your days. If not forced, do not disturb humans who just to survive like all of them." Wisanggeni pointed to the people who came there

"Pardon our error, Your Majesty., we are ready to come and serve Your Majesty." Maharani apologized.

"Maharani. Serving doesn't mean you all have to follow me. I have my own goals and direction that I will achieve. I'll call you, if in time I need you." firmly the man from the Bhirawa Clan advised the Maharani.

"Alright Your Majesty, we will make sure that Your Majesty can safely enter the lake in front and get to the Academy immediately. Show us your hands, then we'll come to your Majesty."

"All right, thank you Maharani. Come back now to your respective places, me and the people here will continue to rest."

"Thank you, Your Majesty. Sjssshh...shh.." Maharani turned his body, and as he hissed, the snakes that were in that place went in various directions.

Wisanggeni was stunned, he then sat down and took a breath. He was still unable to control his shock, he suddenly got the respect of that many snakes. Ki Bahar smiled, and sat down with him.

"I also say hello nak Wisang.., forgive me for not being able to recognize Kisanak as the leader of the snake. The sign of Nabau mustika on the palm of the hand is a proof of mustika that makes all snakes everywhere will worship Kisanak as its leader." Ki Bahar gave the information about the mustika in his hand.

Wisanggeni did not respond to Ki Bahar's words, he just looked at her. The middle-aged man nodded his head.

"As if we go back to where we rested first. Tonight we will be able to sleep quietly, because the Maharani will not interfere with our existence. Tomorrow morning we have to head to the border post to report ourselves." Ki Bahar invites Wisanggeni back to their original place.

The two walked casually while greeting people who seemed to admire Wisanggeni's presence there.

**************

It has been three days and three nights, Rengganis spent time soaking in the warm springs that are behind the cliffs and Curug Banyunibo. The water that was suddenly turbulent and scorching heat he did not feel. He does need time to be alone, because of the longing to meet Wisanggeni. Ki Narendra will occasionally visit the daughter of the Head of his Clan, and ensure his safety and security.

"I finally finished my meditation. My bones are becoming stronger now," Rengganis smiled and opened her eyes.

"I'll go for a walk first and look for food. At night I was just going back to college." muttered Rengganis.

The girl immediately went up to the top of the well, then using her fingers she dried the clothes and everything on her body that was still wet. After everything dried up, he slowly walked out of the territory.

"Who is that?? Why is there a man who is imprisoned there?" Rengganis asked himself, as his eyes caught someone sitting in a meditative position inside his own cave. His forehead seemed wrinkled, as he thought of that person.

"Aah let. Everyone has their own business. So too with me." Rengganis stopped thinking about that person, quickly he jumped up and ran. After almost entering the countryside, the Rengganis walked like a commoner.

"Fry.., fried.., let's buy my merchandise." shouted the seller trying to attract buyers to stop by his lap.

"Ronde .., ronde.., let's go. Let it warm in the body." shouted the other seller.

"The thief.., the thief.., catch the little thief!" a mother was chasing a boy who was about 6 years old. The boy ran very fast, and in his hands carried a small plastic one filled with cake.

Rengganis quickly caught the little boy with one hand. The boy looked teary-eyed as Rengganis' hand held onto him.

"Please let me go, brother. Not eaten yesterday...!" the little boy with a pleading gaze asked that Rengganis release him.

Rengganis put a finger on his mouth, gesturing for the boy to feel calm. Then he put the boy behind him.

"You run where else you are, . the little ones have become thieves. What do you want to be when you grow up?" yelled at the mothers. He stopped in front of the Rengganis, furiously.

"I'm sorry for my sister's behavior, Mother. Worth how much cake my sister took, I'll pay for it." said Rengganis with a smile.

"This brat is your sister?" the mothers stared in disbelief. Although Rengganis was currently wearing the same clothes as the girls in the village, but his face was cleaner and shinier. So, anyone would not be easy to believe it, if she was an ordinary woman.

"Yes Mother..., from earlier I looked for it, Thank goodness I found here, how much is the value of the cake taken by my sister?"

Rengganis then paid the price of the cake taken by the boy. Then he took the little boy with him to eat. In order to thank him, the little boy accepted Rengganis' invitation.
