"This is a picture of your mother as a baby. That's funny, isn't it?" ask Clarissa while rubbing old photos of her daughter. His eyes look glassy.
Elea smiled, then rubbed her grieving grandmother's back in memory of her mother's childhood. "Don't be sad Grandma, later Mama also feel sad in heaven there."
"Dear, Grandma will not be sad anymore. Oh yes Elea, can you please tell Grandma the cause of your mother's death no? Your mom's sick or what?."
Everyone in the living room went silent as Clarissa asked the cause of her daughter's death. The weirdness made Clarissa wonder in her heart, could it be that her daughter died in such an unnatural way that it made these people behave suspiciously.
"Elea, your Mama, didn't die in pain, did she?" clarissa asked again while staring in full investigation at her silent grandson with a strange looking face.
"Grandma, let's talk about this tomorrow" Gabrielle said, noticing that Elea was reluctant to discuss something that hurt her heart. "It's late, Grandma's better rest, we'll also rest!."
"True Grandma. We'll talk tomorrow!" reinhard was worried about the change in Elea.
Meanwhile, Levi, he had almost shed tears because he could not bear to see his little friend sad. Regardless of Gabrielle sitting around her waist, Levi moved to sit and pulled Elea into her arms. She stroked her head affectionately, as if Elea was her own biological sister.
"I don't like it like this, Sister" whispered Elea then sank her face into Levi's shoulder. "I came here only to be happy, not to open old wounds. I hate it like this!."
"Sssstttt be calm, no one will bring up the matter anymore. It's better now we go to your room. I will accompany you to rest" said Levi worriedly hearing the roar of Elea's increasingly irregular breath.
Gabrielle looked anxiously at Levi who was hugging his wife. He tried to figure out what they were talking about by continuing to stare fixedly into Levi's eyes.
"Ekhmm Gabrielle, Mrs Clarissa, Elea is suddenly not feeling well. He needs to rest and I'll take him to the room. Cira, please show me where the room is for Elea!" levi nodded his head at Gabrielle. "You're here first, and please remember your purpose in bringing Elea here on vacation!."
"What's going on?" ask Gabrielle restlessly.
Levi's indifferent. She then invites Elea to follow Cira who will show her the room. While Clarissa, she was frozen. Clarissa knew very well that her daughter had died in pain. Her grandson's response made Clarissa believe there was a major shock behind her daughter's death. With tightness in her chest, Clarissa tried to remove the problem from Gabrielle.
"Please don't lie to this old lady, Gabrielle. Grandma knows you're covering up something about Elea's mother's death. Aren't you?."
Gabrielle did not answer the question. He took a deep breath, staring with pity at Elea's grandmother.
"Just say, Grandma is ready to hear everything" urged Clarissa sadly.
"Mama Sandara's... He died at the hands of Karim and his wife. Mama Sandara fell down the stairs when asked to clean the ceiling in a big pregnant condition!" gabrielle answered. "And Elea, after she was born she was dumped into an orphanage by her Grandpa and Grandma. They also asked the owner of the parlor to torture him. Sorry Grandma, I know it's none of my business, and I wanted Grandma to hear this directly from Grandpa Karim. But since Grandma suddenly discussed the matter now, I was forced to say so. I hope after this Grandma no longer asks Elea this. His heart was already so broken, he just wanted to be happy as long as we were on vacation!."
Clarissa's gaze was empty, her heart was crushed after learning that Sandara had died at the hands of her own father. Clarissa's tears suddenly dried up, they seemed reluctant to flow on her face as this bitter reality unfolded. Fate is so cruel, Clarissa does not realize that she has given her daughter's life to an angel. Karim kills the fruit of their love with his own hand.
"Mrs Clarissa, are you okay?" ask Reinhard to worry.
Clarissa. He smiled then nodded his head. "I'm fine, doctor. Don't worry!."
"Grandma, Karim's grandfather had no idea that Mama Sandara was his daughter. Mama Sandara is married to Bryan's father, he is the son of his wife Grandpa Karim's affair with his lover before they married. And Grandpa Karim did the torture because it was instigated by the words of his wife who said that Mama Sandara was the son of a p*lacur. It's not entirely Grandpa Karim's fault though I myself strongly condemn his actions. He was also a victim because of this misunderstanding!" Gabrielle.
"The son of a p*lacur?" parrot Clarissa lirih. "Both girl, she was born to parents who loved each other, not from an obscure background. Sandara is my daughter, she wasn't born to a cheap woman who peddles!."
Gabrielle immediately stared frantically at the stairs when she heard the sound of footsteps approaching. He then breathed a sigh of relief because it turned out that the one who came was Cira, not his wife.
"Mrs Clarissa, what's wrong with you?" cira asked in shock to see her employer's eyes reddening like blood.
"Gabrielle, please continue what you said earlier. Elea why, what's wrong with her mentality!" clarissa ignored Cira's question.
"Not now Grandma. This issue is very long and interconnected. Just get here first, I'm afraid Grandma isn't strong enough to hear it!" sahut Gabrielle who understands that the situation is starting to be not conducive.
"It's okay, just tell Grandma everything!" clarissa urges her granddaughter-in-law to keep talking.
Silent, Gabrielle is not willing to fulfill the wishes of Elea's grandmother. He could not bear if he had to tell the pain experienced by Elea after being kicked out of the home. Not to mention the incident where Elea was dumped into the ravine by her own grandmother. It all felt so heavy to say.
Unexplained, Clarissa decides to go to her grandson's room. With a trembling body he stepped away from there.
"Mrs, where are you going?."
"Visiting my grandson. I wonder how he is doing now. Pity him" Clarissa replied as if unconscious.
"Grandma, don't go to Elea now. His mind is unstable!" prevent Gabrielle from holding Elea's grandmother's arm. "Please listen to me this time. It's for Grandma's good too!."
Clarissa remained silent. He then looked at Gabrielle with very empty eyes. Unknowingly, Clarissa's tears trickled down, how hurt she felt when she found out that the lives of her daughter and granddaughter were not as good as she had imagined. And even more painful, the man she had been waiting for was the cause of the mother and child's misery. Had Clarissa known that Karim would have gone that far, she would have rather died with Sandara. No one really knows what kind of heart Clarissa is breaking right now. He was bleeding, but there was no trace. And the taste was a thousand times more painful than the incision of a sharp dagger. It's also more painful than an arrow. Clarissa's life was ruined, destroyed.
Brruuuukkkkk
Not yet Clarissa spoke her body had fallen to the floor. It was fortunate that Gabrielle was able to timely catch her head. If not, it can be ascertained that Clarissa will experience a concussion that is quite severe because she fell right on the edge of the stairs.
"Mrs Clarissa!" peekik Cira shocked.
"Gosh Grandma. You guys help me!" gabrielle shouted to Ares and Reinhard to help her lift the body of Elea's grandmother who had fallen in her arms.
Sometimes, what we assume will end well will not necessarily be like that the end result. Because basically man can only plan, but God has the will. Just like Clarissa had. Hoping that her daughter's life would be fine with her real father now she was forced to swallow a bitter pill that was matchless. His children and grandchildren are living in great suffering. While here, Clarissa lives with all the sufficiency even though she never felt happy. That is destiny, we as humans will never know what will happen in the future. All of this is God's secret.
