The Heir's Little Wife

The Heir's Little Wife
Two Headstones

Bryan stared softly at the two tombstones inscribed with the names of two women he loved so much. His outstretched hand rubbed the carving of the name of his little daughter whom he had not seen after being born into the world. Eleanor Young is the name Sandara mentions every night before going to bed. Even though his daughter is gone, Bryan still uses this name to mark his grave. He did not want his wife to be disappointed if he did not pin the beautiful name here.

"Elea, how are you there, son? You and your mom are okay, right? I miss you both so much" Bryan said in a hoarse voice holding back tears.

The gentle breeze made the atmosphere even quieter as Bryan let go of the longing for the tomb of his wife and child. Next to her was an empty flower basket.

"Sandara, I miss you. My days are tormented whenever I realize that you are no longer in this world. Nineteen years have passed, but I always felt that only yesterday we cried happily when we found out that there was a little angel who was soon to be present in the midst of our love. But why did you leave me? Don't you remember our promise to raise Elea together? Sandara, I miss you so much, so much!".

Bryan's tears finally trickled out. He could not help but endure such a deep longing for his long-lost son and wife.

Sandara is a simple girl who is so beautiful. He was an orphan when Bryan first knew him. Bryan is made to fall in love by the innocence and kindness of Sandara to decide to approach her. At first their love is fine, but small pebbles begin to appear after their relationship is known by Bryan's parents. They forced Bryan to leave Sandara, which they thought had no clear origin. Also because of their incomparable status. But because of too much love, Bryan refused the wishes of his parents. She eventually leaves the house and invites Sandara to get married.

In their married life, there was never a single problem that made both of them sad. I love the sorrow they pass together. Until where Sandara finally contains the fruit of their love. Bryan's happiness overflowed once they knew that the fetus in Sandara's stomach was female. They are unceasingly grateful to God for the abundance of happiness they receive.

But that happiness began to be disturbed when Bryan's parents found their existence. They threaten to eliminate Sandara if Bryan refuses to return home. Worried that his parents would actually make the threat, Bryan finally agreed to go home on condition of taking his wife with him.

Bryan initially thought that his parents' hatred would be reduced after finding out that Sandara was pregnant with the future Young Family successor. But it all just happened in his mind. Instead of rejoicing with the good news, they treated Sandara very badly. Sandara who happens to have a gentle attitude never once complained to Bryan that during her work in the office Sandara was always asked to do all the work of the waiter.

Due to the torture he received made Sandara stricken by disaster. She had severe bleeding after falling down the stairs while she was finishing her work. Bryan who was in the office was shocked after receiving news that his wife was rushed to the hospital. He was like a madman driving his car to where his wife was. Arriving at the hospital, Bryan was immediately faced with much worse news. Sandara's condition was critical, and she had to undergo surgery to save her eight-month-old fetus. Without thinking about anything else, Bryan immediately agreed to the operation in the hope that the lives of his son and wife could be saved.

"Hiks... Forgive me for never knowing your suffering Sandara. If only I hadn't brought you back to that cursed house, we might be living happily together with Elea. Our daughter must have grown into a very beautiful girl like you" Bryan said softly amidst his sobs.

From a distance saw a couple who were walking towards Bryan. Bryan who was sad at that time gasped in shock when one of them greeted him.

"Mr Bryan, what are you doing here? Who died?".

Bryan looks up. He wiped the tears on his face and stood up.

"Mr Greg, Mrs Liona. I'm sorry I wasn't aware of you two coming" Bryan said, trying to look fine.

"It's okay. If I could find out who died?" greg repeated his question.

Bryan remained silent. His face looks gloomy.

"I'm sorry if my husband's question is less pleasing to your heart, Mr. Bryan. You don't have to answer" Liona said feeling bad.

"I was visiting the grave of my son and wife, Lady Liona, Mr. Greg" Bryan said, bowing his head.

Greg and Liona were a little shocked to hear that. They then looked at each other.

"We are saddened, Mr. Bryan" Greg said.

Bryan nodded. He then smiled wryly at the couple who were looking at him pityfully.

"When did Madam Yura and Patricia die, sir? Why isn't there any news on this?" asked Liona curiously.

In this country the Young Family has a very good reputation. Their business is quite patronizing even though they have not been able to match the glory of the Ma Family-owned business. Should news of the death of the Young Family members be broadcast on television stations or news magazines considering their family reputation is quite decent. This awkwardness apparently invites curiosity in Liona's mind. He felt that something was deliberately hidden from the media.

"Not those who died, Lady Liona. My wife and daughter from my first marriage. Nineteen years have they lived in this cemetery!" bryan replied sadly.

"So you've been married before with Mrs Yura?" ask Greg in shock.

"Yes, we married secretly because my family did not give our blessing to our relationship. Ah sorry Mr. Greg, I'm so talkin' bouncy!" bryan said bumblingly.

Greg sighed. He understood that Bryan was a little uncomfortable when talking about his past. Not wanting to hurt him with those sad memories, Greg immediately switched the conversation.

"Oh yes, Mr. Bryan, I heard that you were working with my son. What true?".

"Right, Mr. Greg. I should have attended a meeting with Young Master Gabrielle at this time, but instead I came here because I missed my late son and my wife" Bryan replied politely.

"It's okay. Our son can definitely understand your reasoning, Mr. Bryan" Liona said.

"Hopefully, Madam. But I sent Patricia to represent the meeting. I can only hope that Young Master Gabrielle does not change her mind!".

Unable to see Bryan's sad face, Greg sincerely gave him a hug. Something he rarely does to others.

"The saying goes, there will be rainbows after the rain. So too with your life. Don't be sad anymore, I'm sure your wife and son will want to see you happy!" entertain Greg while patting Bryan on the back.

"Thank you, Mr. Greg" Bryan said.

Liona smiled. She was proud of her husband's concern that was willing to endure his dislike of being in contact with others for the sake of comforting this pitiful man.

"Greg, it's starting at night. Let's go home!" bring Liona.

"Alright Hon" said Greg as he let go of his embrace.

"Sir Greg, Mrs Liona, thank you for taking the time to greet me" Bryan said.

Greg and Liona nodded. After that they say goodbye to get out of there. Leaving Bryan who was now crouched beside the tomb.

"Dear ellea, I'm going home. Please take good care of your mother in heaven. Daddy loves you so much".

After saying goodbye to his daughter's grave, Bryan turned to his wife's gravestone. His gaze scoops.

"Sandara, wait for me. Wait for me to come see you in heaven. I'm sure that time will come soon. The three of us will get together like you wanted, baby!".

Satisfied with all his longing, with a heavy heart Bryan left the funeral. His chest was slightly relieved after speaking to the graves of his son and wife. This is what he always does every time the longing comes attacking.
