The Heiress'S Love

The Heiress'S Love
Chapters 14. Lullaby

“I'm still mad.”

Natasha's words that sounded faint from outside the room, managed to make James who was passing by stop his steps. He carefully looked at the situation in the room through the gap of the door that was not tightly closed. He sees Natasha making a video call with Daniel, which Natasha has been doing since she moved to New Castle.

“I will visit you on Tasya weekend, after all there is still another brother of yours with you.” Said Daniel.

“She is rarely at home. I'm lonely Daniel.” Rajuk Natasha pursed her lips.

“You can tell him you're lonely. Maybe that way he'll take some time for you.” Daniel's Advice.

Natasha rested her head on her left hand scowling in annoyance, her prone position on the bed making her unaware of the existence of James watching her in the doorway.

“Daniel... Why did Nathan change? He's now away from me.” Natasha said sadly.

Daniel seemed to sigh deeply, “he was just busy Tasya. College is almost done, he must be troubled to take care of his college duties.”

Outside the room, James slowly reattached Natasha's room door. He leaned against the wall with his eyes closed. Until this moment it still feels the same, the pain infiltrates the recesses of the heart.

“I want the old Nathan.” Natasha Muttered.

“Patience..” Daniel said, “what if you sleep, it's late at night?”

“Sing special song.” Natasha Pinta.

“Good.”

Daniel began singing lullaby songs for Natasha.

“I miss singing Nathan.” Whisper Natasha before falling asleep.

James who was still outside joined in singing lullaby even though it sounded soft. It was not her that Natasha had wanted all this time but someone else, she would only always be the shadow of that person.

Natasha walked following Regina with a gloomy face. They are now in the hustle and bustle of London's international airport. Just a few days ago Daniel left it for New Castle and now Regina is leaving it. Regina is going to America. Not for a holiday but to move to college.

“Should you move to America?” Rajuk Natasha's.

“Unfortunately yes. You know, my family all moved there.” Regina said with a face of regret.

“You're such a bitch, why not just stay here?” Grouse Natasha.

“You know what my papa looks like. Papa doesn't want me to be away from family.” Said Regina clasping Natasha's hand, “I will definitely miss you.”

“I'll definitely get lonely.” Natasha.

“Quiet, there's still Ivan.” Regina said turning towards the man who had been following their steps since.

“No, Ivan can you count on.” Regina's Law.

Natasha looked at Ivan smiling in embarrassment. Perhaps only Ivan was the only man close to Natasha and blatantly paid sweet attention to the girl.

“You're so sweet.” Regina said seeing Natasha being misbehaved.

Natasha's face turned red hearing Regina's teasing, while Ivan looked at her with a warm smile.

“You're going to London again right on holiday?” Tanya Natasha switched the conversation.

“Of course. I'll visit you later.” Answer Regina.

“I will wait for your arrival.” Natasha.

They also hugged each other before parting ways because the plane that would take Regina to America would take off soon. With a heavy heart, Regina left Natasha and Ivan. Both of his best friends were in college in London.

After the plane that Regina was boarding took off, Ivan invited Natasha to come home. But when he saw Natasha's gloomy face, Ivan became unbearable. Finally he invited Natasha to take a walk around the city first to entertain the girl.

Many of the places they stopped by did not feel late at night when they were at the London Eye. From the top of the London Eye, they can see the glitter of London at night as well as the flickering lights reflected from the stream of the Thames below.

“Have you been here before?” Ivan asked close his arms to Natasha who looked cold.

“Never. Daniel rarely has time for holidays while Regina used to take a walk to shop.” Answer Natasha.

Natasha secretly likes Ivan. A warm man who is always there to drive away his loneliness at night even if only through a short message or video call.

“Your brother is really hardworking huh, no wonder Daniel can be successful at a young age.” Said Ivan.

“Iya but it makes me lonely because I rarely meet.” Complain Natasha.

“Do not worry, I will accompany you.” Ivan looked at Natasha.

“You won't go like Daniel or Regina, will you?” Ask Natasha worriedly.

“No. I will always be beside you.” Ivan convinces Natasha, the sweet girl who has stolen his heart.

Natasha's smile also expands to hear Ivan's statement, as well as Ivan who smiles to see the happiness that radiates from the two eyes of Natasha. Ivan gently rubbed Natasha's cheeks and gave a warm peck on the girl's forehead.

Most of the lights in the mansion were already dead by the time Natasha entered the mansion. He was so happy to travel around the city with Ivan that he forgot the time. It was better than coming home only to find the emptiness and loneliness that always ambushed him.

Without any ill thoughts, Natasha crossed the main hall to ascend to the second floor where her room was. But his steps immediately stopped when he found his brother, James, sitting on the lowest steps as if waiting for him to come home.

“Where have you been?” James asked coldly.

Highlight James' sharp and unfriendly eyes make Natasha tighten the grip of her sling bag.

“Introducing Regina to airport.” Reply Natasha lirih.

“What time does the plane leave until you get home this late?!” James said sharply.

“I traveled around town first with Ivan.” Bright Natasha lowered her head not daring to look at her brother.

“You are a girl, should know the time limit of play.” Angry James.

“But... I'm lonely.” Natasha tried to defend herself.

“How many more people do you need here huh!!!”

“I don't need a waiter. I miss you Nathan, I miss our old togetherness.” Natasha said with tears beginning to fall.

In front of him, James was seen frozen to hear Natasha's words. It was clear that his eyes were covered with disappointment and sadness.

“Nathan... Nathan....” Muttered James shook his head, “Nathan is dead Natasha. I'm James... James!!!” James's snapping left Natasha stunned.

The girl staggered back a few steps while still staring at James confused and also scared.

“But you..” Natasha can't continue her words.

He ran past James who looked frustrated. All the way to the room, James' words continued to ring like a broken cassette.

Nathan is dead.

Those words continued to break through Natasha's subconscious. The girl leaned against the door as soon as she closed the door.

How did Nathan die?

The question then popped into Natasha's head until a flash of bad memories approached her. He tried to remember and rearrange his past memories but the more he tried to do so, the pain entrenched in his head became more excruciating. The last thing Natasha remembered was the coldness in the body after it had broken down on the floor of the room.
