BaiLi Yun Xiao, Yue Qing Ye, and Lian Yi stood in the clean white corridor that was the hospital of the academy.
From the glass window, they could see the academy's medics moving quickly to recover the injured students.
"With their current situation, I have some doubt that they can still progress in the next match session" BaiLi Yun Xiao said.
"Maybe we should let go of the first rank," continued the young man.
BaiLi Yun Xiao's voice was not loud, but amidst the silent conditions that scooped up the corridor, every tribe he said was firmly clarified into the ears of his companions. In that corridor there were only the three of them without any other visitors, so BaiLi Yun Xiao frankly said his heart.
Yue Qing Ye did not reply.
Lian Yi calmly retreated backwards to give the two people some space to discuss their matters. The black-robed young man stood at the end of the corridor to keep the privacy of the two young masters from himself and any other visitors who might come.
"Qing Ye, it's about their safety. After all they're our students, maybe just a few weeks we teach them, but I know your heart will soften for them won't it?" baili Yun Xiao said in a soft tone.
The atmosphere between the two people was extremely tense. Yue Qing Ye still did not respond to BaiLi Yun Xiao's words. His cold gaze was fixated on Wei Lan who was lying in a coma on the patient bed with an academy medic who was healing her.
Beside Wei Lan was Yu Feng.
Compared to his previous condition, the current Yu Feng was already much better. At least the boy no longer bleeds here and there.
The moment Luo Hao's strength exploded, the first to be affected were those in the arena. Yue Qing Ye vividly recalled how her students were dropped by Luo Hao's radiance of strength.
There was indeed no raw flesh wound that was truly frightening because at that moment the one who was attacked first was their soul.
Yue Qing Ye saw for herself how her students were attacked and fell into a coma in the middle of the arena. And at that moment, his heart was beating faster.
This is a pretty rare occurrence.
Yue Qing Ye herself was a cold-hearted type of person. He is not the kind who will feel compassion when he sees a stranger hurt or die. For him who has lived in this world that sees blood, death and suffering for those who cannot afford it is natural for him.
Yue Qing Ye was a saint blood. Since his birth he has experienced an unequaled ordeal.
He had to learn the science of survival for himself since childhood. He is taught not to rely on others, if he wants to live then use his own abilities to maintain his life. He must not show weakness against the enemy because when he is on the line between life and death there are only two options, become a predator and survive or even become prey that will die without a name and swallowed by time.
The little Yue Qing Ye though was scared, yet she applied all of these teachings to defend her life because she knew this was what she had to face since her birth.
The first time he got a killer who entered his room was when he was four years old. At that time he was just a little baby who had not experienced the taste of blood.
He had been taught to never show his emotions to anyone, to have to raise his vigilance no matter where he was even if it was his personal space, he said, you can't trust what you see in front of your eyes. Little Yue Qing Ye did not understand why her two parents had to be so strict towards her.
Since his birth, what he remembers is that he has always been trained. He always has to be perfect and intelligent. Little Yue Qing Ye had never met any other children, aside from having to appear perfect she had no idea what a child was supposed to do.
Until one day in the middle of winter that was covering their territory, he found himself seeing a group of clan children his age were playing. They throw snow at each other.
Little Yue Qing Ye was initially surprised by the incident. It was the first time he had seen children even though he knew that children were born from their mother's stomachs to other biological theories. As long as he studied, there were no children around him. The clan people he met were all adults, the youngest of whom were teenagers.
There was no other baby in her neighborhood besides her.
He had prepared a short dagger hidden behind the long sleeves of his robe. Carefully, little Yue Qing Ye peeked out from behind the tree and her always expressionless little face displayed a rare shock.
He saw the kids.
A group of children his age who were running around and throwing white objects known as snow. Little Yue Qing Ye stared at the incident with a serious expression and her little head had mapped out various possible scenarios.
The first thought of little Yue Qing Ye back then was that the group of children were fighting each other's attacks.
Looking from the patterns engraved on their robes, it signified that they were members of a clan. So that means they're not enemies, but...
Little Yue Qing Ye frowned with pure displeasure. Clan rules forbid them to hurt each other without cause let alone to attack each other with dangerous weapons.
Seeing these kids throwing snow at each other. He immediately judged that they must have a bad disagreement that ended up wanting to hurt each other.
The little Yue Qing Ye who back then did not know whose name was said to be 'playing'. So he did not know that the children were just playing with each other cheerfully.
What the two-year-old knows is that snow is a dangerous weapon. Ice clumping can be a deadly weapon if used properly. And little Yue Qing Ye did not like the possibility that the children were injuring or even killing each other.
He wanted to come out to ask their problems, yet at the same time he hesitated. Everyone around him always reminded him to never put himself in a dangerous position no matter what the case. A group of children in the field numbered eight. If he advanced, he would not necessarily be able to defeat the children who broke the rules without harming himself.
But if he doesn't interfere, what if there's a victim? What if someone is seriously injured?
They have members of their clan. He did not want any of them to die although of course after this they had to be punished for their transgressions.
Amidst Yue Qing Ye's inner struggle, a familiar aura suddenly entered her alert radar.
As expected as he turned around, a small dot immediately dashed towards him without making a sound. It was his servant or rather his nanny.
Yue Qing Ye raised her tiny finger and positioned it in front of her lips to make a silent sign. The girl who seemed to be a teenager obediently nodded as she reached near her little young master before taking a peek at what Yue Qing Ye was watching.
It turns out a group of kids.
"They fought, even using dangerous weapons to hurt each other. We must stop them and punish them for their transgressions."
A childish little voice sounded quietly in the form of a whisper, but it also carried the imprint of contradictory maturity.
The teenage girl who was the nanny of Yue Qing Ye instantly came to a realization with the intentions of her little young master and a glimpse of complicated emotions flashed across both of her pupils.
"They didn't fight, Young Master," said the girl.
Little Yue Qing Ye furrowed her brows further and asked, "But they use ice balls to attack each other."
The girl shook her head and again said, "They have no intention of hurting each other."
"Then what are they doing?"
The girl froze when asked with that innocent question from her two-year-old baby's young master, yet was already acting so maturely. He lowered his gaze under the gaze of little Yue Qing Ye and replied quietly, "They are playing."
