Eps. 6: Camping

Li Anlan brought the eunuch to Xingyue Palace while her two gate guards were off guard. He told the eunuch to wait for a while in the courtyard of Xingyue Palace. Li Anlan went straight inside the palace to pick up some items.

Under the moonlight, the man referred to as the handsome eunuch elder brother by Li Anlan was sitting under the peach tree that grew arrogant challenging the sky. His eyes opened up all the scenery in this small palace ranging from the gate, the shape of the building, the pendopo, to the size of the garden. This Xingyue Palace included the smallest palace, yet was no smaller than the Cold Palace.

The pillars of this palace are only made of plain silver colored marble without carving. The paper windows are not so thick that they allow wind and cold to easily enter. At first glance, this Xingyue Palace looked like an isolated palace. The palace belonging to the little princes alone was still much better than this palace.

Despite that, Xingyue Palace looked extremely clean and well-groomed. The man's eyes could recognize something dirty and clean from a distance. Coupled with clumps of plums and azaleas that adorn the small garden, this palace is also still worth occupying.

Her net caught the figure of Li Anlan who had just come out from inside the palace room. The woman was carrying some strange items that she had never seen at all. He then helped Li Anlan carry the strange items because it seemed like the woman had trouble carrying them.

The items Li Anlan brought were tents, mattresses, binoculars, and some other small items Li Anlan used to carry while camping. The items were then placed near the peach tree the man sat on.

Li Anlan picked up his tent and started putting it up. His hands are skilled at matching the iron-iron framework of the tent. It didn't take long, a tent shaped like a mountain was already standing firmly in Xingyue Palace's courtyard.

The man called eunuch had absolutely no idea what the woman in front of him was doing. He simply could not distract her from all of Li Anlan's actions. Since the woman's hand held and fiddled with a small round object long black to form a strange object like a mountain, he was already unaware that his curiosity had already rolled into the assortment of questions that he would throw once this woman completed all her strange actions on the items.

Li Anlan spread out his mat in front of the tent. Some other items such as thermos, instant noodles in a cup, binoculars, and some snacks he neatly stacked right in front of the mattress. Not to forget, Li Anlan also took out her phone from inside her shirt.

"Sit down" Li Anlan said as he patted an empty spot on the edge. With hesitation, the man sat down beside Li Anlan.

"Where did you get these weird things?"

"I bought it."

Li Anlan could not explain where he bought all these expensive items. The woman chose to open her favorite grilled corn snack. The smell of grilled corn immediately wafted once the snack pack was opened.

"You want to?"

Li Anlan looked at the eunuch looking doubtful.

"Let's just be calm, it's not toxic."

After hearing Li Anlan's explanation, the man slowly put his hand into Li Anlan's bag of grilled corn snacks. He felt the strange taste of the food. His tongue was dancing. The sweet, salty, savory, and slightly spicy flavors mix into one.

The eunuch man took over the corn snack from Li Anlan's hand. His mouth did not stop chewing. This strange food is delicious.

"Sir eunuch, have you ever met the king?"

"Ever," he answered without stopping chewing.

"Is he handsome?"

"Why are you asking that?"

Li Anlan stared at the stars scattered beautifully in the sky. The stars here are more in number because the sky is very clear, not blocked by smoke and pollution like on earth.

"I've never met the king."

"You want to see him?"

"No."

"Why?"

"My life is complicated. If I meet the king and attract his attention, my life will become even more difficult."

"Are you a waiter?"

Li Anlan's every move did not escape Long Ji Man's sight. The man even frowned as Li Anlan poured hot water from inside a small long object into a strange container. The magic tool can remove hot water without having to boil it first.

"You're telling me to eat this weird worm?"

Once again, Li Anlan laughed.

"It's not a worm. It's instant noodles."

The cup's instant noodles ran out in less than five minutes. Long Ji Man really enjoyed the delicious taste of that instant food. For the rest of his life, this was the first time he felt that a meal really tasted good.

"Eunuch Long, you'd better come back soon. Don't make me scold the officer for hiding a eunuch in my palace."

"of course. Come to Houchi Lake in the afternoon. I'll definitely pick you up."
