CHAPTER 23 HOPE IS THERE

Hyeo Jin drove his car to Hadong. He wants to see his uncle on business. He's only been to Hadong three times in his lifetime. The villa belongs to samchon* Seo Woo is haunted, said his uncle, let alone the house on the back. When he was a child, he did not dare to go to the back home. Right now, when he was an adult, Hyeo Jin was curious about the house.

Hyeo Jin walked into the house greeted by Madam Joo. His uncle was on his way to Hadong. Hyeo Jin was asked to wait. The man walks around the house. He was still curious about the back house. Is there really a ghost in that house like his uncle once said.

Hyeo Jin sneaked into the courtyard of the house, then checked the back. The condition of the house looks quiet, but the garden is clean and neatly maintained, far from the impression of being haunted. Behind there are clothes sheets and blankets. Someone is arranging the cloths. A strong wind blew and shook off a bedsheet that was being laid out, Hyeo Jin saw the figure of Hye Bin behind the sheets.

"Hye Bin!" hello Hyeo Jin.

Hye Bin was surprised, then she rubbed her eyes as if in disbelief at the figure of Hyeo Jin.

"Boss. Why are you here?" ask Hye Bin.

"This is my uncle's house. Ooh ..., so you work here," Hyeo Jin asked in disbelief.

"Yes, but don't tell anyone that I'm here huh," please Hye Bin while rubbing her palms together.

Hyeo Jin smiled.

"Want to have some tea? Let's go inside," Hye Bin asked while commenting on a smile.

Hyeo Jin agreed, then they entered the kitchen through the back door. Hye Bin makes tea for Hyeo Jin.

"So, you're Mr Kang's nephew? I just found out" said Hye Bin.

"Do I have to announce that I'm Mr. Kang Seo Woo's nephew in Hadong?" answer Hyeo Jin.

Hye Bin smiled then poured tea for Hyeo Jin.

"I went to this villa only three times when I was a kid. And all that time I've been scared to this back home. It turns out that when I grow up there's nothing terrible" Hyeo Jin said, then sipped her tea..

Hye Bin raised an eyebrow, feeling strange. Because for a month there was nothing strange in this house.

"What's wrong with this house?" ask Hye Bin.

"So, my uncle used to say that this villa is haunted, especially the back house. Maybe because I was a kid back then, so it's easy to get influenced by stories like that. But if the ghost is like you, I would like to stay here, hahaha .." replied Hyeo Jin while chuckling.

Hye Bin laughed. Madam Joo walked into the kitchen carrying a suitcase. Hye Bin and Hyeo Jin stood up from his chair.

"Hye Bin, I was willing to go home because my mother died. My replacement's coming in the afternoon. He's a Doctor. I hope that as long as I leave you help the maid in the main house to welcome her and take care of this house," said Madam Joo in a sad tone.

"Yes, Mrs Joo, be careful on the road" Hye Bin said in a welcome hand by Mrs Joo.

"Oh yeah, don't forget, if you take the goods in the warehouse, the door is blocked by something first. Otherwise, she can be closed and can't be opened from the inside" explained Mrs Joo, then exited through the kitchen door. Hye Bin and Hyeo Jin escort Madame Joo out of the house.

Gawai Hyeo Jin reads. He got a call, apparently his uncle had come and was waiting for him at the main house. Hyeo Jin said goodbye to Hye Bin, and promised to return. Hye Bin nodded her head, ushering in Hyeo Jin's departure with a smile.

Hye Bin went to Man Se's room, where Halmeoni was praying, and he took a small book on the table near Man Se's bed. Hye Bin arranges the blanket and checks Man Se's pulse.

"What is it, Halmeoni?" ask Hye Bin.

"The Quran" answered Halmeoni briefly.

Halmeoni read the book in a melodious voice. Ten minutes passed felt in Hye Bin's palpation Man Se's pulse was getting louder. On the brainwave detection monitor there is significant movement. Halmeoni stopped reading the book. Man Se's brain waves flat back. Hye Bin feels weird. Is there a connection between Halmeoni's reading and the state of Man Se?

"Halmeoni, try to read your book again" said Hye Bin.

Halmeoni read again. Suddenly Man Se's brainwaves on the monitor started to make significant movements. Over time Man Se had a seizure that made Halmeoni and Hye Bin panic. Hye Bin's face started to get anxious.

"Halmeoni, take care of Madam, I'm going to the main house to call Mr. Kang," exclaimed Hye Bin rushing out of the room.

Hye Bin ran frantically to the main house. Without a second thought he opened the door and told Mr. Kang that his wife had a severe seizure. Seo Woo and Hyeo Jin were sitting chatting in the living room.

Seo Woo was aghast when he heard Hye Bin's report. Seo Woo and Hyeo Jin rushed to the back house. Big question marks on Hyeo Jin's face. Who is the woman of his samchon wife, because all this time he never knew his samchon married.

At the same time enter a car into the yard of the house. The driver opened the door for someone. Shahib and Doctor Hyun got out of the car. They were greeted by the housekeeper and escorted to the back house.

Hye Bin opens the room door and Seo Woo immediately takes a sedative injection for Man Se. All of them showed worried faces, only Hyeo Jin was shocked at the door to see who his uncle's "wife. After being injected, Man Se again began to calm down.

Shortly thereafter Doctor Hyun and Shahib entered and took over medical treatment. Kang Seo Woo has just noticed Hyeo Jin's presence. He stared at his nephew who was standing at the door with a face full of questions. Hyeo Jin immediately left, then sat down in the living room.

Kang Seo Woo follows Hyeo Jin. He had to confirm about what and who Hyeo Jin had just seen. Hyeo Jin sat on the sofa with a look of shock. Kang Seo Woo sits next to Hyeo Jin.

"What did Uncle do to that woman? Why was he with you when you were looking for him all this time? Why?" ask Hyeo Jin.

"Hyeo Jin, I just want to protect her. I know they love each other, but destiny is not on their side. He attempted suicide when your father married Hong Sun Hwa, your mother. Thank goodness he was alive after that. The conditions are so awful. He was in a coma all along, as if reluctant to wake up. Poor woman, I hope you didn't tell your father all this" Kang Seo Woo said.

"But, until when? Papa will keep looking until he meets either dead or alive" Hyeo Jin said.

"There will come a time when this will definitely open up, but I hope not now" Kang Seo Woo said with a sigh.

"Alright, I'll keep this a secret." Hyeo Jin understood and lowered his head.

Kang Seo Woo smiled with relief as he looked at his nephew.

Doctor Hyun stood beside Man Se's bed. He had only recently encountered a case like the one that happened to Man Se. Hye Bin, Halmeoni and Shahib looked with pity at the woman lying in front of them.

"What's going on?" doctor Hyun asked his mother.

"His brainwave detection tool moved significantly when I read the Quran beside him. I just read for about ten minutes, suddenly his body twitched," said Halmeoni.

Doctor Hyun frowned estimating what the exact diagnosis was. What made Man Se react? whereas for twenty years, the previous Doctors raised their hands and only helped keep Man Se's condition alive. A miracle happened, there was a reaction from Man Se's body and brain waves when read al-Quran.

"I think it's a positive thing" Dr. Hyun said.

"Well, thank God it's good for Madam" said Halmeoni, grateful that what happened was positive.

"Doctor, can I give you advice? About Quranic Healing. Have you heard of it before?" shahib asked Doctor Hyun.

"Yes ..yes ..of course. I've heard of it, but I've never seen the facts in real terms" replied Doctor Hyun.

"During this treatment by using the verses of the Quran is still underestimated by the medical world. Would you be pleased if we did it to Madam? I think the Madam's illness is not just physical pain, but there are other factors as well" Shahib said.

Everyone was shocked by Shahib's diagnosis. Doctor Hyun frowned then nodded his head.

"I never had any experience with that. Can you do it? We try, " Doctor Hyun replied.

"Will nothing happen? Remember he's a non-Muslim?" halmeoni asked Doctor Hyun.

"We try, Ma. At least to provoke his brain waves to react back. Shahib, I leave it to you for this, " Doctor Hyun explained.

Halmeoni nodded his head. Hye Bin just silently followed their conversation. He just found out that what Halmeoni read can heal people. It's gonna be something interesting.

Shahib confirmed his heart to try to do the treatment by using the verses of the Quran. He knows the effects and consequences. Shahib thought that the woman lying in front of him was currently exposed to locking magic. Medically, there was no trace of any injuries after falling from the building twenty years ago. His vital condition also functioned, only, his brain did not react at all.

Doctor Hyun asked Shahib and Halmeoni to recite the Quran daily beside Man Se, who knew it could stimulate brain waves and trigger his consciousness again. Shahib is willing to do it.

Doctor Hyun leaves the room to meet Seo Woo and Hyeo Jin in the living room. He tells them it's a good thing, and there's a chance Man Se could wake up soon. Kang Seo Woo and Hyeo Jin smiled and felt relieved. Doctor Hyun conveys that Shahib will replace Madame Joo to accompany Man Se. Seo Woo agreed.
