An Old Story: The Stage of the Wolves

...Part 1's...

The red-haired man walked up to the tall man and unceasingly stale he directly pierced the man's heart.

Diego smiled slightly when he heard the man's statement. To him that statement sounds very ambiguous.

"Come out or I'll kill you" Diego was speechless at the statement that was definitely aimed at him.

Diego walked up to the man. "So you are" said the man. "Who are you and what do you want" the man asked. "Only an adventurer happens to pass by and witness a murder right before my eyes" Diego replied casually.

"You know witnesses are very important, not" Diego said.

"You're threatening me!!!"

"Did my words sound like a threat to your ears" Diego replied. The man took a slow breath "this man is a local official but in fact he cooperates with slave traders, every night in his area there are always people who are missing" the man looked at Diego's face.

"I don't really care about that but I'm interested in your statement so may I ask you why an adventurer brings justice" Diego looked at the red-haired man's face then gave a small smile.

If you want to work in the name of justice why not work as a judge. Adventurers are not jobs that can carry the name of justice.

People see adventurer work as promising work, there are also those who just enjoy adventure, there are also those who are forced to become adventurers to survive.

But this adventurer who was in front of her was a naive adventurer type.

"I will uphold and give justice to those who deserve it" the man said.

"Then after killing him what would happen, the slaves had already gotten justice" Diego asked. "Of course, justice for the slaves is freedom from slavery and killing the slave traders, so they will automatically get justice" he said.

"That means you're not fair" Diego answered briefly.

"What do you mean!!! of course my fair enslavement is the epitome of injustice that society exists!!! That slavery must be destroyed to its root" the man exclaimed.

"That means the slaves must also be killed huh" Diego chuckled. "It looks like something's wrong in your head" the man said.

"Well, it may be enough to get here that we are just the masters of justice" Diego turned and walked away from the adventurers who wanted to uphold that justice.

Now his goal was the nearby guild to exchange scales and fangs belonging to the snake monster he defeated in the Elora Dungeon.

Arriving at the nearby guild Diego directly exchanged the scales and fangs of the snake monster.

"Your job is always a good Hunter of Nightmare" said the receptionist. "Being a golden adventurer at such a young age and being able to survive in the most dangerous Dungeon in the world you are truly an incredible Hunter of Nightmare.The old man must be very proud of you" Diego fell silent and lowered his head.

"I'm sorry to offend you Hunter of Nightmare" the receptionist said guiltily.

Diego shook his head slowly he remembered Brother Soul's words which read 'then let it pass'.

"Oh yes here he paid you all fifty gold coins" The receptionist gave Diego a bag of money.

Diego accepts and opens it to make sure "what every monster from the Elora Dungeon is worth" Diego asks.

"Not really but you're like you're lucky that the snake monster you defeated is called Cobra Elora, its scales and fangs can be made weapons trade unions would want to buy it, Cobra Elora, whatever the price" said the receptionist.

"Thank you miss receptionist" he turned and walked away.  Diego now walking in no direction he saw some people in red armour with a deer emblem surrounded by a circle of fire.

They were from the Fire Deer Party, the biggest party ever had a member of around five hundred people and it was certain that they were very famous.

He remembered a few days ago that a Fire Deer Party envoy came to him and invited Diego to join them.

Diego immediately refused because the incident with Boy's In Adventure is still very imprinted on him.

The incident where he killed almost all of his friends because he was tempted by the power of the mysterious Dungeon they were exploring.

From then on he decided to become a solo adventurer. Diego hit something and he fell.

"Hey you have eyes or not!!!" shouted a green-haired woman she had featherless wings on her back and two horns on her forehead.

"Are you mute huh" cried the woman.

"Ronia you're scaring her" scolded a black-haired bobbed woman in her hand with a magic wand.

"Carmila this boy hit me he's the guilty one" said a woman named Ronia did not accept.

"Ronia stop your disrespectful behavior on the Hunter of Nightmare" a man wearing a black suit and a white mask who shows both of his black eyes.

On his back he carried a red spear in his hand. "Mr Zania this isn't what you think this child is guilty of" the woman named Ronia was still trying to defend herself.

"Let's calm Ronia, it looks like fate is leading us to meet again Hunter of Nightmare" the man walked up to Diego and reached out his hand.

Diego received the hand of the white masked man. "Thank you" Diego said.

"It's nice to see you again Hunter of Nightmare what about my offer a few days ago" the man asked.

"Don't I answer that" Diego said briefly. "Right as well but I still hope you will join the Fire Deer Party" the man said.

"Sorry for now I'm going to be a solo adventurer" Diego refused.

"It turns out your decision remains unchanged yes but are you interested in joining the mission to capture the city of Tonren" he said.

"Mr Zania why are you taking this little boy" Carmila asked in disbelief.

"He's not a random child, he's an adventurer with a one-star gold rank he meets the criteria to take part in this mission" the man said.

"Hahahaha even you were defeated by a little Carmila boy" Ronia laughed out loud.

"Curr you're Ronia"

"Excuse me, may I know what happened to the city of Tonren" Diego asked.

"A few weeks ago the city of Tonren was captured by a herd of monsters some people managed to survive and make a mission to take the city of Tonren back" said the man again.

Diego was silent for a moment Brother Soul once said that if monsters move together it means they have a leader

"The monsters that captured the town of Tonren are what kind of thing they are" Diego asked. "A group of goblins, Ogres, Star Wolf and many other monsters" Diego was speechless.

"It looks like I'm going to join the mission" Diego said. The man nodded in understanding "it's fine that maybe we should take care of the administration first" the man said.

"All right I understand" Diego said. Every time an adventurer would take on a mission there were several administrations to take care of.

Diego was sitting under the bridge staring at the blue river.

It was already dark that star-studded stars sprinkled in the sky of the green moon were seen very close.

Diego never rented an inn because the price was quite expensive. He is also more comfortable if sleeping in the wild like this.

He was used to living on the streets in addition when with Kak Soul they always slept in the wild.

Diego hugged his knees and closed his eyes. Today's adventure is over and will continue tomorrow.

When Diego opened his eyes it was morning. The blue-haired youth got up and did some muscle stretching then washed his face of the river.

Diego came out from under the bridge but was struck by a sad sight.

"The poor justice enforcer adventurer" said Diego walking up to the man who was lying helplessly with a knife embedded in his stomach.

"Is he still alive" Diego grabbed the rating of the tree lying on the ground and stabbed the man's body.

"If you're alive wake up, Mr. Justice" Diego said.

Diego saw the man's finger move then the man's eyelid blinked and slowly opened.

"Where am I" she asked weakly.

"You're on the riverbank right now answer my question what happened to you" Diego asked.

The man immediately pulled out the knife stuck in his stomach and then he got up but he fell back.

"Please get the potion in my bag" the man said. "Bag are there no bags around here" Diego looked at the place around them. "What's really going on" the man said.

"I have a potion but the price won't be cheap" Diego said. "I'm dying here and you still have time to blackmail me" the man asked.

"I'm also an adventurer as a potion adventurer that's very valuable" Diego said. "Alright I'll pay you later" she yelled in annoyance.

"It's good to do business with you Mr. Justice" Diego pulled out a small bottle of green liquid from his bag.

He gave the bottle to the man. The man immediately drank it.

His body gave off a green-colored light slowly the wound on his stomach disappeared.

"Thank you" said the man.

"Yes the same don't forget the payment" said Diego. "I'll pay you later in the afternoon I'll take some missions and collect money first" the man got up and activated his magic emblem.

Appears on a sword of his hand. "What happened to you, Mr. Justice, until it could end here" Diego asked.

"I have to make sure of their condition first" said the man walking away. "I think you're too worried about them, they're gonna be fine so you don't have to meet them" Diego said.

This naive man was all he could deduce from the incident that befell this man.

Naive adventurers are easy prey for other adventurers. Brother Should once said that do not deal too often with naive adventurers because it is very troublesome to serve them.

"They're friends of my friends, at least I should tell them not to worry" the man said.

Diego took a breather as he left "well good luck this afternoon I'll wait for you here to pay for my potion" Diego got up and walked away from the man.

"Hey what's your name" the man asked.

Diego stopped his steps "You can call me Hunter of Nightmare" and he continued on.

"You can call me Blade of Justice" exclaimed the man.

Before taking on some missions Diego stopped by the market to buy food and fill supplies.

While with Brother Soul, Diego is always reminded to make careful preparations ranging from weaponry to supplies. For her the adventure was full of surprises so careful preparation was indispensable.

After that he bought some bread and other food then went to the forest to make arrows.

After spending two hours making three hundred arrows. Diego went straight to the adventurer guild.

On the way to the adventurer guild Diego crosses paths with the fire deer party.

If you remember again the headquarters of the fire deer party is not far from this city. It was only natural that he would often find some members of the fire deer party.

Arriving at the guild Diego went straight in and walked towards the notice board in search of a mission he could take.

"Not yesterday on this notice board there are still many bronze rank missions" said one adventurer in surprise.

"Yes yesterday bronze rank missions are still a lot of why now there is no" said a female adventurer.

"I'm sorry all for the bronze rank mission no longer has a member of the fire deer party taken all those missions" said one receptionist.

"Seriously he handles that many missions, is he in debt" said one of the adventurers.

"I don't know either but in the morning he came and took all the missions" added the receptionist again.

"Jeez Fire Deer Party was always doing as good as mentang mentang famous party" said an adventurer.

The adventurer rank consisted of three tiers of gold, silver, and bronze.  In the three ranks there are more levels that are distinguished from stars.

The bronze rank had twenty stages which meant that the highest level bronze rank was a bronze rank with twenty stars.

As for the silver rank consists of ten stages which means the highest level is ten-star silver.

For the gold rank itself has five stars which means the highest level is five-star gold.

Adventurers can take missions according to their rank but that does not mean they should not take rank below or above their rank.

Diego looked at the notice board looking for a mission for the gold rank.

The young man found a mission suitable for him. The mission repels the werewolves that appeared around the village of Loria.

Diego immediately picked up the paper and walked towards the reception desk. "Excuse me miss I want to take on a mission, are you this mission still valid?" Diego asked and he gave me the paper.

The receptionist read the paper and looked at Diego "There have been some adventurous parties that have gone there but it looks like a gold rank like you can help them" the receptionist said.

"But were you sure yesterday you had defeated Cobra Elora alone, were you unwilling to rest" the receptionist asked.

Diego shook his head slowly "I've had enough rest you don't have to worry about me miss receptionist" said Diego confidently.

"Alright if it's your decision I'll finish her administration first" the receptionist miss pulled out an object that was nothing but a stamp.

He tasted the paper and gave it to the blue-haired young man again.

Diego received the paper and walked away from the guild towards the village of Loria.

Diego followed the map on the paper. After traveling for two and a half hours he reached Loria village.

As he passed through the gate he saw some patches of blood that had already dried up.

"Hey who are you" exclaimed an adventurer at her.

Diego directly took out his adventurer badge. "I'm Hunter of Nightmare will assist in the expulsion of werewolves" Diego said.

"Pe. gold rank adventurer sorry for my disrespect" he said. "It doesn't matter where the other adventurers are" Diego asked.

"They were discussing at the village chief's house if you wanted to go there" the adventurer asked.

"Yes, please take me there" he said. Diego also followed the adventurer. The blue-haired youth was taken aback by the several tents that were spread out in the meadow.

"How many casualties have been on the adventurous side" asked Diego. "A. what do you mean" the adventurer asked in surprise.

"There are a lot of tents there, which means you have been here long enough and at the gate a lot of blood spots that have dried up" said Diego.

The man stroked "really many adventurers who fell victim to werewolves even two gold rank adventurers became victims".

Diego was silent for a moment the more dangerous and difficult a mission then all the guilds would install that mission on the guild notice board.

If two adventurers with gold rank died, this mission must have spread in various places.

No wonder so many adventurers took this mission. They stopped at a house that was quite large it seemed like this was the village chief's house.

Diego followed the man in "all his golden rank adventurers came to help" the man exclaimed.

"There is finally help" said a female adventurer.

"We've been fighting with the werewolf for quite a while now we've finally got help" one adventurer said.

"Who's your name, gold-ranked boy?"exclaimed a man in a dark purple armor.

"Let's just call me Hunter of Nightmare and how it's going" Diego asked.

"it's good we always manage to drive away the attacking werewolf every night" the man puffed his chest proudly.

"Just expel" Diego swerved.

"It is fitting that many adventurers become victims and if you have any plans to strike back" Diego asked.

"Prophey young man even if you rank gold in such a hurry you will end up like the two gold rank adventurers before" a black-haired woman who was draped long with a stick in her hand and a pointy hat typical of a Magus.

"He's right young man you better find a place to stay first and rest for a while later this afternoon come here we'll talk about a strategy to dispel the werewolf" said a Beastman Lizardman.

Diego took a deep breath "well I expect a good plan from you" he turned and walked away from the house.

"He's so young for a gold-ranked adventurer huh"

"That's right"

"This Chef that I don't like about gold rank adventurers they always rule people at will"

On the other hand Diego was already quite far away from the village chief's house. His current destination was the village fence.

Arriving there he immediately checked the condition of the fence. The fence is in poor condition, the bond is careless and also a lot of scratches.

Diego walked up to this fence. He wanted to know where this fence was.

This fence surrounds the entire village although still this fence will not be able to withstand the werewolf hordes.

"Hey you're here"

Diego turned around and found a white-haired young man with red eyes.

"Who are you" asked Diego.

"I'm also an adventurer you can call me the White Crossbow if you're alone" she said showing a crossbow taped to her right hand.

"Call me Hunter of Nightmare" Diego said.

"So what are you doing here" asked White Crossbow. "I was just checking the fence" Diego replied briefly.

"Oh so yes then is there a problem" he asked again. "Of course it's a problem" Diego paused for a moment then took a slow breath. "We should have a fortress strong enough to protect us from the werewolves" Diego said.

"But we don't have time" White Crossbow said. Diego felt an orange glow hit his body "let's go to the village chief's house other adventurers must have started gathering" White Crossbow asked.

'I think I just got here but why would it be night'

What happened was actually when he had just arrived but why arrived it was late afternoon.

Is he too focused on this fence but it feels impossible.

"Hunter of Nightmare let's go to the village chief's house" White Crossbow said.

"Good" Diego said.
