The Story Behind the Curtain

The Story Behind the Curtain
Worriedly

The young man glanced back for a moment and fended off the plate thrown by Xavier, the ceramic object broke into pieces against the wall.

Some visitors screamed hysterically along with the plate that fell to the floor.

“Xavier ...” Erli yelled at his ex-lover.

The girl stepped closer to Xavier.

“This was your parents teaching? Don't worry about you being rich, you can do all you want,” said Erli, “dan. Not Xavier.” Erli.

Xavier, who was furious, raised his hand again to hit Erli. However, the blow was repelled by Rafan, the man who defended Erli earlier.

“Enyah from before me!” snapped Xavier, “I said stay away! Don't interfere with my troubles with this cheap lady!” threaten Xavier with a high tone.

Rafan examines Xavier's face. When Brian directs a punch, Rafan dodges and pushes Xavier until he bumps into his sidekick.

“Vier, are you okay?” brian asked as he glanced at Rafan who was standing not far from him.

“Soaring!” Xavier stood up and walked out of the cafe.

A waiter chases Xavier to take responsibility for the chaos, with Xavier's sharp gaze taking out his credit card and throwing it in front of Brian. The young man then took care of the cafe payment.

Out there Xavier kicked the tyre while shouting loudly and the screams were heard all the way to the cafe. Brian, who was done with all the business, came out and pointed his index finger at Erli and Rafan.

“Antosan anjeun!”

“Sok!” exclaimed Erli with glaring eyes.

After the departure of Brian and Xavier, Erli chatted with Rafan. The long-haired girl did not look at Rafan's face at all, even though she was talking once. Erli's attitude that seemed embarrassed, making Rafan interested want to know him further. However, the bespectacled man simply kept silent and stared at Erli once in a while.

“Thank you for helping me earlier,” Erli said to so many times.

Rafan smiled and replied. “Sama-sama. Oya, Teteh house where?” ask Rafan kalem.

Erli moved uneasily and the girl stared to and fro.

“What's Tea?” Rafan looked curiously.

“It's okay. Excuse me, there is a sudden affair,” said Erli while pulling his bag on the table.

Rafan nodded and stood up.

Too bad. Though I want to name a lot, inward Rafan.

Rafan's gaze never slipped towards Erli who was now walking in a hurry.

***

Seconds by second passed so quickly, Rafan who had finished with his office affairs decided to take a short walk in search of fresh air at night. The man in his thirties was walking around the town square, from a distance he saw the figure of the woman that made him curious this afternoon.

Isn't that ... The girl I met at the cafe this afternoon? What the hell is he doing there?

Rafan walked up to Erli who was sitting curled up under the lights of the plaza, with his ragin Rafan greeting.

“What's Tea?” Rafan crouched down next to Erli.

Suddenly Erli was surprised to hear Rafan's voice, the girl's hand rubbed rough wet face due to the roar of tears.

“What's up? Why are you crying?” Rafan strafed Erli with a number of questions.

Sobbing Erli answers Rafan's question, “A-I'm fine. Why are you here?” Erli asked the man.

The man took off the jacket he was wearing and gave his jacket to Erli.

“I'm just walking. Who are you here with?” Rafan sat down next to Erli as he opened the bread.

“Self,” the answer is short and his face looks expressionless.

Rafan raised his eyebrows while staring around the park, hesitantly Rafan asked Erli's home address.

“Why did you ask that?”

“It's late, so I'm taking you home. It is not good if Teteh comes home alone, danger!” he said with a soft tone.

“No thanks! This is your jacket.” Erli puts the jacket in Rafan's lap and the girl just leaves.

Because worried Rafan followed Erli's steps, from a considerable distance. Along the road Rafan smiles to see Erli, Erli's steps suddenly come to a halt as he crosses a bridge. Erli termangu saw a river flow that was quite swift, stupefied in his mind wanted to end life.

It's enough I humiliate everyone who loves me. Maybe this is the only way, he said in his heart.

The girl walked back and glanced to and fro confirming the situation.

“What does he do?” Looking at it full of seriousness.

I-i'm sorry! I'm not a good parent to you. His hands were stroking his stomach which still looked flat.

On the other hand Rafan is still staring at the girl he is appraising.

“Will he kill himself?” rafan asked himself.

“No, don't do that!” rafan shouted while running towards Erli.

The long-haired man sped up his movements and when he had reached Erli's place he presumptuously hugged Rafan tightly to the girl's body.

“Do not do things that are forbidden by religion, Tea!” prevent Rafan with the sound of loud breathing.

“Lease! What are you doing?” snapped Erli while taking off both hands of Rafan coiled on his hips.

“I won't take off my arms until you undo your suicidal intentions.” Rafan is still clean with his actions.

“Astagfirullah .. please let go of me, I beg you!” tell Erli in a soft voice.

“Promise won't jump?” pinta Rafan with his head looked up at Erli's face.

“Iya I promise,” strangle the girl.

“Come, get off first!” rafan continued, “if you don't come down, I won't take off this hug!” threaten Rafan with round eyes.

Erli had to obey Rafan's orders, after the girl went down Rafan took off his arms.

“Who are you? Just meddle in people's affairs.” Grunts annoyed.

“I just don't want you to die in vain. Suicide will not solve the problem, even if you die the problem will remain. Yes if you die, if you are still alive and disabled, how?” The man followed behind Erli.

Erli looked back with turbulent eyes.

“Don't follow me!” snapped Erli.

Rafan did not answer even he still stepped following the girl who was snapping at him just now.

“Astagfirullah, go!” expel Erli.

When they argue suddenly Rafan runs away from Erli.

“Why not from earlier gone?” Erli looked at the back of the long-haired man.

Apparently Rafan approached a pregnant woman who was groaning in pain at the end of the bridge. Seeing that Erli also ran to check on the condition of the pregnant woman who was sitting helplessly, but Rafan again held the woman and carried her to the side of the highway.

“Wait here for a while I will be back,” added Rafan, “please take care of him!” pinta Rafan to Erli.

Erli looked at the woman curiously, his heart beating faster and suddenly there was a sense of anxiety and worry in him.

Why am I worried about the safety of the child in her womb? Is that the pain she felt?

Erli was still dumbstruck beside the pregnant woman, Out of nowhere she came from, he heard the cry of the baby and the cry stopped just like that and now his ears again heard the sound of a child crying and begging him.
