The Story Behind the Curtain

The Story Behind the Curtain
Bickering

POV Rafan's.

My eyes glared at the greeting cards stamped on all the cartons and bouquets of flowers, my steps already being preceded by that jerk guy. My intention to buy a bouquet of Carnations for Erli has now failed.

What am I supposed to do? how do you handle a situation that makes me disappointed? all this made my heart ache, a pain I never felt. I have never been disappointed this deep, all this time I prefer my solitude.

His threat was no joke and now he has started his action. What am I supposed to do? what need to come to him and ask not to disturb the tranquility of my household.

I wanted to throw and burn all this stuff, but it was impossible for me to do that. This self does not want to turn evil just because it is left one step behind.

...***...

"Why are you angry?" asked Erli with narrowed eyes.

Rafan stared intently at his wife's face and the intimidating look of Rafan made Erli's hair bristled, because her husband never held her this sharp especially Rafan who he knew was always calm and kind.

However, this afternoon he looked angrily disappointed and the look in his eyes emitted worry. The frightened Erli could only lower his head and slowly step back to avoid eye contact with Rafan.

"Where are you going?" Rafan's heavy voice added to Erli's fear, his heartbeat getting louder.

Erli hesitantly answered the husband's question, "You make milk."

"Stay right here! There's something I need to talk about" stop Rafan from folding his sleeves.

"Please pray first!" erli softly.

Without answering his wife's words, Rafan passed by Erli and locked the door of his room.

After hearing the door locked, Erli's stomach felt nauseous and his eyes widened. The aura of the room turned gripping, seemed to be facing the angel Mau—hands and Erli's lips trembled.

"Why ... Is the door a key?" Erli's head was still down and his fingers were playing at the end of the clothes he was wearing.

"Nothing!" rafan replied expressionlessly.

"W-what'd you do?" asked Erli stammering.

"You stay here! Don't try to get out without my permission!" This was not a request but rather an order that Erli had to obey.

"T-can't we just screw it up in the morning, Mas?" monsul Erli was nervous.

Rafan turned his head back. The glint of his eyes sharpened, it made Erli even more afraid. Again his head bowed, the nervousness he felt today exceeded the thesis he had felt early last year.

Erli was still pacing back and forth thinking about the actions her husband would take. Suddenly Rafan cleared his throat, telling his wife that he was done with all his activities.

"Have you finished?" erli asked without looking at the husband's face.

"Hm."

What kind of situation is this? O Allah .. save this servant of yours, Erli asked in his heart.

"Sit down!" Rafan nodded his head upwards.

Without a word of rebuttal Erli followed the direction of her husband. Silent, the mood is still quiet. Rafan has not started his conversation, Erli also does not dare to ask about what makes her husband express this flat and cold.

"During my wife's life, how did you feel?"

Erli's forehead scrunched up and he raised his head so that he could see Rafan's face.

"Why are you asking me that?"

"Just answer my question!" hiss Rafan.

His tongue felt weak and unable to move, his little heart ordered him to express all the feelings he had felt all along. However, his brain held back because of the agreement letter they had signed 6 months ago.

"Why shut up? Your vocal cords are breaking, so you can't speak?" cecar Rafan with his hoarse voice.

Netra Erli widened looking at Rafan with teary eyes he said.

"If you want to divorce me, divorce me! Don't say rude things that hurt me!" sumpul Erli, without realizing the clear circle came out so just from his eye peluruk.

Seeing Erli's tears flowing makes Rafan's heart ache, wanting it to feel like he's hugging and calming Erli. However, he had to endure it in order to get an honest answer from Erli.

"Why are you silent now? Say what is in your heart! God willing I will accept all your decisions" said Erli sobbed.

"From the beginning I didn't want this wedding. You ... who always forced and cornered me to accept all your proposals!" erli said full of anger.

"Till this moment you still feel compelled?" Rafan denounced Erli's remarks.

His wife was silent a thousand languages look Erli eyes exuded a very very extraordinary annoyance. Similarly to Rafan, the man also felt the same way.

"I will grant all your wishes, so .. Just tell me what is in your heart and mind!" decit Rafan turned his back to his wife.
