Nathan gets off the car when he gets to the school gate that Sukma once occupied to weigh in on the science. A security guard approached, opened the gate and asked Nathan for his purpose.
“I Nathan, emm.messenger of one of the social service offices in this area. There's a little ahrus I talked to the Principal.”
“Oh, so, Mas! Come on, the car is brought in then,” said Mr. Satpam. He opened the gate wide, and let Nathan's car pass.
Nathan parked his car, and got down from there. Before that, he glanced at Sapto and Hisham who had been sitting in the car. Yes, the two middle-aged did go down to accompany Nathan. But they'll just wait in the car, let Nathan get in there.
Hisham and Sapto simultaneously gave Nathan a nod as a code that the man could carry out his mission.
“Be careful, do not let you mispronounce and make the Headmaster suspicious,” Hisham's thoughts.
“Ready, Sir!” reply Nathan. The man then went down, and turned to look at the security guard who was now back sitting in his post. Nathan gave a nod and a smile, which the security guard replied with the same thing.
Nathan entered the school grounds. The school is indeed classified as a prestigious school, Nathan so curious as to how smart Sukma to be able to bring the girl to school in this place with the help of scholarships.
Hours of teaching and learning are underway, so the school seems very quiet. Nathan immediately searched the principal's room, the goal is to ask permission to be allowed to complete the data of one of the patients who used to go to school here and now are in the protection of the social service because they do not have family anymore.
“Excuse me!” Nathan knocked quietly on the door of the room when he got it. A voice sounded from inside, “please enter!”
Nathan exhaled a coarse breath, before pushing the brown door.
“Excuse me, Sir!” nathan said when he found a middle-aged man but his body is still firm. Eleven-twelve with his father, but this man seemed to be older than Hisham. Evidenced by some strands of hair that looks bleached.
“Who is it?” The middle-aged man asked a question.
“Before, I apologize for interrupting Father's time. Introduce, I'm Nathan, messenger from the social service.”
“Oh, so. Okay, please sit down! I am Hans, serving as Principal here.”
Nathan nodded slowly, and sat down on the chair facing Mr. Hans. It turned out that the guy's welcome was pretty warm as well.
“The office has reported my arrival since two days ago to the school. You already know?” ask Nathan.
Sapto has indeed sent a notification letter to the school email in the name of social service.
“Oh, no. That's why I was a little surprised, earlier. Maybe the clerk forgot to tell me.”
Nathan nodded in understanding. “Oh yes, why suddenly the social service sent you to visit here?” ask Hans.
“Our school will get help, yes?” Nathan did not answer yet, Hans had again thrown a question.
“Oh, not—not! This is not a matter of help.”
Hans mangosteen, “lalu, about what?”
“We are currently dealing with one of the teenage girls who is depressed, because she was left by her father two years ago. Because it has no family, so the social service took over the responsibility.”
Nathan sees the shock on Mr. Hans's face, but manages to get back in disguise by the man.
“Then, your relationship came here, what?”
Nathan began to read the school principal's letter. He called Nathan ‘kamu’ and now calls him ‘anda’, he is not consistent. Everything should be suspected here. Including the principal of this school of course.
“The teenage girl is reportedly, previously was studying here. So, I will ask some questions related to the girl for the benefit of our data completeness.” Nathan explains his goal, noting the change in the principal's expression.
“I'm sorry, but I feel that no student here has a mental disorder. Maybe you got the wrong address!” Mr. Hans looked like he didn't like it when Nathan said the girl suffering from depression was from his school. I don't know, either he doesn't like it or something else makes it that way.
“Our side did not wrongly record the address, sir! And, that girl is not a mental disorder. He was just depressed because of the various shocks he experienced at a very young age.” Nathan tries to hold back his emotions, he does not like if people consider Sukma a mental disorder, although in the beginning he also said it. However, Nathan has regretted it, and he will not let anyone say that hurtful thing again about Sukma.
“Depression? That's just another word for mental disorder, and crazy, right? And my student, nothing has ever been like that.” Be firm Mr. Hans.
Nathan exhaled a rough breath. He opened the bag he had in his car. Take the paper that was prepared there.
“This is a record of the patient from the data we collected through some files in his house, and info from his neighbors. Everyone said that he attended school here.” Nathan handed the paper to Mr. Hans.
The middle-aged man read for a moment the writings contained in the paper before snorting. “Oh, dia. He's just a quiet kid here, and there's nothing to figure out anymore. He hasn't even been here for a year. So, there's nothing you can find out more besides.”
Nathan caught the look of disdain from Mr. Hans. Nathan became increasingly convinced, if Sukma became like that it must be because there was school interference. Otherwise, maybe Mr. Hans will show a concerned face, not like this.
“He's a smart kid, and got in here because of a scholarship. Isn't the school supposed to feel the loss of a student like him?” Nathan's Fishing line.
“Ckk! The kid here isn't just the smart one. After all, what to expect from an overly reserved girl like her? Losing a student like him, nothing.”
Nathan knitted his brows. “Bapak no longer aware who to talk to?” ask Nathan.
Nathan grunted in annoyance. His hands clenched tightly. Nathan believes that something happened with Sukma in this place and was known by the school but not handled.
“Well if it is like that. But, I, although still a new employee, will promise to find out more about the child. And...You will know at the end of how when I know if you or one of the school parties involved in it,”, Nathan said before leaving there. He doesn't even have to say goodbye to Mr. Hans.
Just as Nathan exited the Headmaster's room, a break bell rang. Nathan wants to try his luck by finding one of the twelfth graders to ask him a question about Sukma. Who knows they know.
“What class are you?” nathan asked a student there.
The student fell silent while looking at Nathan's face. “Hei! You hear my question?” reset Nathan.
“Eh, ma—maaf, sis! Hehe. I am class eleven.”
Nathan nodded slowly, “oh, okay.” The man then left the girl just like that.
“Kak!” The student shouted at Nathan, but he ignored him.
“What class are you?” nathan asked the three students who met him in the corridor.
“Class ten, Brother. Uh, Mr new teacher?” Nathan immediately walked over, ignoring the question of one of the girls, making the three squeal in annoyance.
Along the corridor, Nathan asked some of the schoolgirls he met. Why not ask the students? Nathan knows how Sukma looks. The men obviously wouldn't be busy watching.
“What class are you?” Nathan again asked a group of students who stood in front of the class while busy gossiping. “Class twelve.”
Nathan immediately exhaled a rough breath. Finally he met one of the twelfth graders. He had to hurry, afraid that the headmaster would catch up with him and immediately throw him out of here.
“You know Sukma?”
“Sukma? Emm—Sukma here a lot, Kak.”
Nathan mentions Sukma's full name. “He went to school here two years ago which means your age. You guys know?”
Some of them shakes. Nathan instantly sparkled as the two of them nodded. “Oh, that quiet Sukma, right? Which hair is always parsed? He's the same class I used to be!”
“Oh, which each assignment equals a repeat of the first semester he got that perfect score, right?”
Nathan nodded immediately. “Iya, that one. Can I ask you guys?”
The two girls nodded enthusiastically. When are you talking to a gini-rich cogan?
“He how was it?”
“Ah, she's always quiet. By the way, unless it's asked by the teacher, that's rare.”
“Hose is also in the corner.”
“Ah, she is also weird.”
“Slight times.”
Nathan listened well. “Keep, you know why he quit school?”
The two girls nodded. “Say teacher because she wants to move. Surprisingly, we have never seen Sukma's parents come to take care of the moving letter. Or Sukma who came to the administrative room to ask for a letter moved.”
“Why can you be sure Sukma never comes asking for a move mail?” nathan asked fishing.
“Because it's the administrative room on the third floor, while our class used to be on the second floor. We often catch him when he comes home. He never climbed to the third floor.”
Nathan nodded. “Thank you, then. Then I'll excuse you first yes.”
“Eh, sis! Can I have her mobile number?” one of the girls restrains Nathan's departure.
Nathan turned around, “I don't have a phone,” he said lying. Afterwards, Nathan walked over briskly from there. No longer caring how the girl reacted to her answer.
BRUK!!
As he was walking, Nathan was suddenly hit by someone from the front. Fortunately, he was able to balance his body. The man seemed to be in a hurry, not even saying an apology to Nathan. Nathan turned around to yell at the impactor, but was ignored. When he turned around and intended to continue, Nathan saw a paper that was like after being squeezed under his feet. Nathan doesn't exist. Nathan took it, and opened it. Maybe this paper belongs to the guy and accidentally fell.
Nathan opened the paper as he walked.
