"Sukma bobo, oh Sukma bobo. If not bobo, get bitten by a mosquito."
"Oh, sleepy huh, sweetie, huh? Or do you want mimi?"
"Cup, cup, cup! Funny Mama's son."
"Today, Mama's wedding date is with Papa, honey. It's been three years that Mama and Papa have been together. May it be forever, yes. Despite the gini's distress, we pray that the way forward be paved." The woman kissed her son's cheek many times. He hugged the boy with a sigh. Both are lying on a thin mattress that is directly placed on the floor.
Suddenly, the woman's stomach rang, causing laughter on the child's face. "Ih, laugh. Funny yeah, hear Mama's belly."
"Mama."
"Ma."
"Mama!"
Fifi who saw Sukma sleeping restlessly and called mama, immediately approached. The woman stroked Sukma's hair.
"Darling, hey. Mama's here!"
"MAMA!" Sukma. The girl immediately sat on the bed. That dream, too...
Sukma looked at Fifi who was beside him. She hugged Fifi, and shed her tears. That dream was not a nightmare. However, it is able to create sadness in the heart of Sukma.
"Darling? Why?" ask soft Fifi.
Sukma shook his head slowly. "It's okay, Ma. Sukma is just a dream."
Fifi took off her embrace. Watching that face carefully. Sukma's eyes look swollen. Her hair is also messy. Fifi tidied the girl's hair carefully, afraid of hurting her.
"the dream? What kind of dream?"
Sukma sighed. "Sukma Mama's dream."
Fifi knit eyebrows. "Mama?"
"Ma.ma Goddess."
Fifi was a little surprised to hear Sukma's words. Is it possible that because of the Goddess of accident, Sukma suddenly dreamed of it?
"Nightmare?" ask Fifi again.
Sukma. "My childhood dream." Sukma's eyes returned to tears.
"Darling, listen to Mama, yeah. Mama knows, Sukma doesn't really hate your birth mother. In your little heart, there is still a great affection. Only you are too disappointed with the situation, which has hurt you all this time. Right, right?"
Sukma. What his mother said was right. "You don't hate your mom, you're just disappointed. And the only impingement, just your mama. With reason, he made you like this. In fact, everything that happens to you, not your Mama's will."
"Now, be honest with Mama. You, really still love your Mama, right?"
Slowly, Sukma's head nodded. Fifi's smile was created on her lips. The woman breathed a sigh of relief. That's right what he said. Her son is an angel girl. Fifi was so grateful for that.
The severely-aged woman again brought Sukma into her arms. Dewi would certainly be very happy, if Sukma had forgiven him.
"Oh yeah, somebody wants Mama to tell you. But, you need to calm down, yeah." Sukma knitted his eyebrows. Especially the serious face of my mom.
"Your biological mother, accident. He is in the hospital now" said Dewi slowly.
Sukma's body stiffened immediately. His eyes returned to tears. "I. It's because of me, right, Ma. Mama's in an accident because of me. Yeah.this is my fault."
Fifi hurriedly prevented Sukma from squeezing her own hair. That girl would definitely hurt herself.
"No, honey. Not because of you. Calm down, my dear. We'll visit your mom later."
"I'd like to see Mama Dewi, Ma."
Fifi nodded. "Yes. We're going to the hospital. But, tomorrow only. It's night time now. Yea?" persuade Fifi.
The sukma exhales violently. Inevitably, the girl nodded her head.
***
The next day, Fifi took Sukma to the hospital where Dewi was treated. Dewi had asked Laras the room where Sukmas' birth mother was treated.
When Fifi was surprised to see the girl who came to his house the other day was there. Sukma is the same.
"You..."
"Sorry, Aunt. Me, Laras. Son connect Mama Goddess." Barrel introduced himself. "I'm sorry if at the first meeting I wasn't honest."
Fifi nodded in understanding. Unlike Sukma, the girl was silent.
"Where is your mother?" ask Fifi.
Laras sighed harshly. "Mama's injuries are quite severe in the head. You had surgery last night, and you haven't been conscious until now." The girl said softly.
Laras looked towards Sukma, then towards Fifi. Fifi who understood what the girl meant, immediately made a sound. "Sukma wants to see your Mama's condition."
"You..have you sorry Mama?" ask Laras slowly.
"Let's go in! Inside there is Apin. You must know him, right?" ask Laras.
Sukma. "Yes." Yeah."
Laras then brought Sukma and Fifi into the Dewi's nursery. There's Apin in there. The man was eating on the couch. Sukma only glanced at a glance. Apin was also staring at them. The eyes of the two children met, but then chose to approach the Goddess who was lying on the bed.
"Doctor said, Mama will soon be awake. He'll be happy to see you here."
Sukma just stared at the face of the Goddess. The girl was confused, wanting to do what. He and the Goddess had never established any intimacy at all, making him confused in his attitude.
"If you want to talk to Mama, we can give you time. Aja stories. Mama will listen." Baras tried to be an adult. Now, he no longer only had one younger brother. But he was at once. Since his father was imprisoned, Laras transformed into a different figure. The girl's arrogance seemed to disappear somewhere. The number of problems that befell, made the girl turn into an adult.
Sukma nodded slowly. Fifi stroked the girl's shoulder. "Mama comes out first if that is so," he whispered in the child's ear.
The barrel gave Apin the code to go from there, the man said. After this, he will ask for Sukma time to talk to him.
***
Sukma stared at the face of the mother. The girl sat on a chair near the bed.
The face of the Goddess really resembled her face. Sukma smiled, maybe his face will be like this when he grows up. Slowly, Sukma's hand was raised stroking the mother's face. The hand trembled, along with the shedding of tears.
"Mama," he whispered hoarsely. "Mama. I'm..." Sukma was unable to continue his words. The girl sobbed.
Long time ago, Sukma just spent his time crying.
"I know, Mama wasn't wrong. It was probably Mama Khilaf. But, I'm also confused as to how." Sukma began to say what he had been craving all this time.
"I have suffered since childhood. Frequently crying silently to see the Father who tried hard to live me. Dad's departure, was the hardest blow for me. But, I tried to get up alone because I remembered Dad's struggle to send me to school." Despite the help of the scholarship, there were obviously other costs his father would have to bear.
"But, the terrible events that happened to me after that, really drove me crazy, Ma. I'm alone. It's hard to trust anyone else. I was scared, there was no place I depended on. Until finally, Mama Fifi came." Sukma gave a pause of his speech.
"I feel the love of my parents again. I found a family that accepted me and all my shortcomings. They helped me out of the black hole of trauma. I am grateful to meet them.
"When I thought everything was okay. I know a secret. Mama's still alive, and the torture I got back in high school had something to do with Mama. I have trouble accepting the truth. There is nothing I can do to vent my pain, other than blame Mama. Sorry, Ma."
Sukma returned. The girl held Fifi's hand, and kissed her many times. "I'm sorry, Ma. I'm sorry I threw all the blame onto Mama."
Sukma breathed a rough sigh. Holding tightness in his chest. "Mom woke up, yeah. Sukma promise, when Mama wakes up, Sukma will have a warm conversation with Mama. Sukma will not do any more rejection to Mama. Sukma."
***
When out of the Dewi room, Fifi immediately greeted Sukma with his embrace. The woman saw the child's eyes swell up again. I have been crying too much since yesterday.
"The Goddess Mother must have woken up, right, Ma?" ask Sukma. She was afraid, her mother was gone like her father. Sukma was afraid that Dewi would leave before he could say sorry. Sukma wants to spend his time with his biological mother as well. The goddess cannot leave. The woman had to replace their time apart by filling in new memories. Dewi must see Sukma can graduate school, and enter the university. Work and be a successful woman. The goddess must see her child in order to be proud.
"Your mom must be awake, honey. Let's just pray, yeah, baby!" entertain Fifi.
Laras who heard all the words of Sukma cried. As for Apin, the man's eyes glazed over.
"Sukmas." Apin called after Sukma had calmed down enough.
"I want to talk. Can you?" pinta the man.
Sukma nodded slowly. "We're talking in the hospital park" Apin added.
"Sister, pick up Mama, yeah." Laras nodded. I don't know what his sister's gonna talk about with Sukma.
"Tante, let's talk to Sukma first, yes."
"Yes. please."
***
"How are you?" ask Apin. They were on the hospital park bench.
The sukma breathes heavily. "As you can see. I'm not okay."
Both were silent for quite a while. "You..have forgiven Mama?" ask Apin later.
"Yes. All this time, I might have been just trying to find an outlet to be the object to blame for everything that befell me. And Mama Goddess became his victim."
Apin shook his head. "It wasn't your fault. It's only natural that you behave like that."
Sukma smiled wryly. "But because of me, Mama was an accident. If I hadn't been so bad to Mama yesterday, maybe the accident wouldn't have happened."
"Can't say that. It's all his destiny. If you hadn't been in an accident yesterday, you wouldn't have said sorry to her either, would you?"
Sukma nodded slowly. Undeniably, the words of Apin are true.
"I hope Mama wakes up soon." Sukma looked up, staring at the sky that looked very bright.
"Your hope must be fulfilled. I'm sure Mama heard all your words. He will definitely try to get up soon to meet you."
"Oh, yeah. Now..we're brothers, huh?" apin suddenly said.
Sukma nodded slowly. The girl tried to hide her smile. "Yes. We...brother!"
