Being late to realize

Nathan and Laras looked at each other for a long time. The barrel awakens when the mother touches his arm. "Your friend?" ask Goddess.

Laras did not answer. He's still focused on Nathan. Until the Goddess again nudged his arm. The goddess beckoned Laras through the eyes, as the girl looked at him.

Laras nodded back with a forced smile. "Know, Ma'am. I-"

"Excuse me!" A waiter interrupted their conversation. The four people only realized that their position was blocking the path of others.

Nathan pulls Sukma closer to him. "Come, to our seats. Kasian, people go through the same thirst as us." Nathan pulls Sukma's hand. He nodded for a moment towards the Goddess. While the Sukma exhales rough breaths. "When I want to meet my brother's friend, you know!" said the girl full of annoyance as they reached the table where they had been.

"He's not your friend" Nathan replied flatly.

Nathan drives the car in silence, making Sukma a little surprised. Nathan's been acting weird since the restaurant. He forbids Sukma to look at the woman he accidentally hit, for some reason.
