Chapter 16: Under the Street Light Pole

After draining the water from the pool everyone brought a mop hook and a water hose to help with their work.

Compared to the focus on work, only Nio continues to approach Roseanne while talking even though she is actually being ignored.

"It's a bright day today? Ow, you must have cleaned up a lot you're an expert."

Everyone who looked at him from behind only showed a troubled face.

Meldy said to Amane in embarrassment.

"Do you not stop him, I feel sorry for Chairman OSIS he may be disturbed."

"I don't think so."

Question marks popped into Meldy's head over Amane's quick answer but he decided not to talk any further and went back into his work, as for Edo he started brushing the edges of the pool excitedly.

"This one's clean, now it's that turn over there."

He had fun in his own world, Meldy thought in his heart.

The bored Nio finally decides to let Roseanne work alone, he turns to Meldy and slightly sprays water on her.

"Stop Nio."

"I wonder if your clothes will be translucent if exposed to water."

"Let's go, you have bad intentions apparently."

Different from Roseanne. Meldy goes more with the flow, she's a person who is honest with herself and tries to adapt to the situation for her own pleasure.

Roseanne looks a little upset for that.

"Basic Playboy."

"You said something, chief?" asked Amane who accidentally heard his swearing.

"No, let's get this over with, I want to go home soon."

"Good."

The work was completed right at sunset, Meldy and Edo took a different path then followed by Amane and now only Nio and Roseanne were left walking under the light of the lamp post.

It was something that often happened in a romantic comedy novel where they would join hands until home, but in Nio's case it was clearly different.

Roseanne looked at him sharply.

"No, my house is the way here."

"Then you go first."

"There's a lady first term that's why I'm just going to walk behind you" Nio lightly replied as she shrugged her shoulders upwards.

"I don't feel comfortable walking behind me."

"Then we can walk next to each other."

Roseanne looked agitated as she glanced to and fro to escape.

"I'll call ojek online."

"Your house is close, you don't have to do that."

Nio closed the space of himself to escape and now Roseanne chose to ignore him. Her heart wasn't pounding or so she was just annoyed as to why she should meet a man like this.

This was not the first time there was someone who kept on approaching him but when they were given a cold gaze they would retreat without having to be told but the young man beside him obviously did not have the determination to give up.

She had been giving verbal abuse but why was this person always bothering her, for the first time Roseanne chose not to run away.

"Why do you keep trying to get close to me?"

"There's no other reason, I just want to."

"If you're in love with me forget it, I can't possibly like someone like you."

"Hehe seems so."

The words were enough to shock Roseanne, this young man obviously could not predict whether he was just trying to disturb her or having a taste in Roseanne was a hard thing to see.

But nevertheless.

Seeing the confused Roseanne Nio explained.

"I'm interested in you especially your silver hair but that doesn't mean I have to force you to like me, how to say it. You look like the old me."

Roseanne's eyes widened as she waited for Nio's next word.

"You look lonely."
