The Struggle of Women

The Struggle of Women
Episode 4

Agreement Sheet.

Right after Elma revealed her decision to Jenny, the woman immediately asked Elma to do a thorough examination, remaining under Jenny's supervision of course. Because Jenny knows they are being hunted for time, especially Elma who needs the funds immediately so that her mother can undergo surgery as soon as possible.

“Kak Jen.” The voice of Elma and her figure that had suddenly stood in front of Jenny, instantly broke the young doctor's daydream that had ventured too far. Jenny smiled back at the work asked Elma when she saw him who had been pensive.

“It's done?” jenny's question broke the awkwardness, and Elma answered him with a quick nod. “Change your clothes, we have to go somewhere after this,” command Jenny pointed at the hospital patient uniform that Elma wore throughout the examination.

Following Jenny a few steps behind, the two enter a fancy restaurant that Elma never once visited as a customer. Even if all this time had the opportunity to enter restaurants like this, Elma would have entered as a part-time worker, whether it was a waiter or as an additional dishwasher in their kitchen.

That day was the first time Elma had come to a fancy restaurant and was greeted respectfully by the entrance guards, also being greeted by the friendly smiles of some servants who saw her coming. Usually he will be in that position, he thought.

“El, come. Over here.”

The young girl woke up from her reflection, nodding as she turned to Jenny who directed their steps towards a more private place in the restaurant. There are tightly closed barriers, with one entrance to maintain the privacy of guests who occupy the room. And Jenny entered one of the rooms, guided by the waiter who had accompanied them since entering the restaurant.

Jenny thanks him before the waitress leaves them, which Elma replicates with a similar thing. Once they had the privacy they wanted, the two were greeted by someone who had apparently been waiting in the room.

“Hai, Jenny,” greet the man friendly, with a smile and glasses perched on his face.

There was no reply from Jenny. And from what Elma saw through her point of view, the woman only smiled faintly before pulling her body closer.

“Nona Elma, right?” added the man before Jenny could introduce the girl, making Jenny snort and pull one of the chairs nearby.

“Sit, El. Let me introduce him to you.”

“I can do it myself really,” the man continued as if not giving Jenny a chance to talk a lot. “Halo, Miss Elma. Introduce me Brian, one of the family's mainstay lawyers father of the baby Miss later.” Brian—as the man introduced himself, reached out, still adorned with a smile that Elma thought would make the man cramp his cheeks if done continuously.

“Elma,” welcome Elma briefly.

“Stop introducing yourself in such a strange way, can't you introduce yourself in the usual way?” jenny's lips glanced lazily, attracting Elma to sit down and break away from Brian.

“You are, still as fierce as ever. It is fitting that big bosses often complain after meeting you, he said you will be the boss if you talk too often.”

Jenny nodded indifferently, reluctant to respond to the guyonan who she thought was not qualified. Realizing that Jenny's mood did not look good since entering the room, Brian stopped his jokes. The man changed his face to be more resolute, serious, and exuded a different aura to the first one he showed.

“Alright, want to eat or—”

“Just go ahead,” cut Jenny, and Brian immediately gave her a nod while grabbing the documents he had brought and stored in the bag. “We eat after this affair is done.”

Brian raised his drooping stalk of glasses, handed him a few bundles of paper containing several sheets inside. Seeing her has made Jenny grimace, the Tanubrata family always prepares everything perfectly so that they can avoid the slightest worst case scenario in the future.

“You can read it first, Elma. Read carefully and understand, because everything is clear for your good. We do not want you to feel disadvantaged, so make sure all your rights are fulfilled without the slightest gap less.”

Elma swallowed her saliva. All those documents? Should he learn?

“Slow down, we won't leave you here. And if there's anything you want to ask, I'll be happy to explain.”

Afterwards, Jenny came into contact with Brian— a lot the woman nodded in agreement with confidence, put her hand on the back of Elma's hand and held it tightly, trying to channel support for whatever Elma ultimately decided. Either it approves and signs all those agreements, or quite the contrary.

Liam's door was knocked on as the man received a call from one of his co-workers. Liam who was sitting on his throne deliberately stood up to open the door of his own room because he could not let the person in using a voice.

Liam's head moved slightly as soon as he saw Brian, giving the man room to step in and leave him for a moment to refocus on his phone. Just a few minutes, until Liam closed the conversation and turned to Brian.

“You're coming?” greet Liam after keeping his phone away from the ear. Take a seat across the sofa that the lawyer occupied.

The man replied to her with a formal smile, took something from inside his bag and showed it to Liam. “The phone has signed it, want to see?”

“No—no need. I believe in what you and Jenny are doing. So that's enough.”

Brian nodded, deciding to put the file back in his bag. “Then why call me here? I guess if you just want to know about the end result you can ask by phone.”

Liam cleared his throat, he knew Brian would ask about this. “How is he?”

The scream on Brian's forehead is getting. “How is it?”

“That girl ... Jenny said she was pretty and smart enough to pass on good genes to my son, so I just wanted to make sure.”

The lawyer was almost blown away, even though the end result that came out of his mouth was just an amused snort. “If you are that curious, why not try to meet him? Why bother yourself with all the privacy that you make that a condition for, anyway? Perhaps you can fall in real love with the girl, so there is no need for this kind of ridiculous agreement. You can make a child in a normal way!”

Liam's eyes narrowed, putting on a cold face as the man used to show the people out there, no more relaxed impressions, no more, and that applies when the close person he is talking to already exceeds the limit that should be “Go. I no longer need your answer.”

Quickly Brian raised his hand, sign himself to surrender and admit defeat. He's not here to fight with the source of his income. “OK, okay. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that.”

Liam did not respond, either because he really had decided to ignore or sell expensive because Brian had offended his territory.

“Let me tell you according to my point of view about this Miss.” Brian raved, whether he was heard or not, but he was sure Liam was secretly listening to him carefully, as this concerned his future son.

“So as you know, Jenny never misjudges people. This girl is beautiful, very young, of course because she is only 19 years old. And from what I've seen it looks like he's healthy, even though we still have to wait for the results of his medical records. For sure as Jenny said, she is smart, very—this girl can get a scholarship with her ability at any university, she said, but because of the situation he was forced to refuse and plan to re-apply at the university this year.”

“Why did he refuse?”

Got you! Brian actually got Liam's attention again, right?

“Sorry, Sir. But that's part of his privacy that you should not know,” said Brian with a regretful look but aims to be taunted.

Liam could only exhale. He himself does not know why he really wants to know about the girl, even though he himself prepares the boundaries of which he should know and which are not.

Brian's answer was a little disappointed, although not to make Liam intend to violate what he had determined himself.

“Good. I shouldn't ask much about this guy. Our business only concerns babies, and enough to get there,” said the man, as if he was reassuring himself.

“You can go, Brian.” This time Liam invited him quite kindly, before standing up and returning to his desk, struggling with his busyness again.
