The Throne Of Valor

The Throne Of Valor
Valkyrie: Sword of Light

My recommendation song while reading this chapter > Beowulf : Savior

Basecamp Southern Forest.

The darkness of the morning still looms. The moonlight penetrated through the sidelines of the fog in the Southern Forest.

All Edward's soldiers were gathered and ready to go.

They await the arrival of Edward who was held captive to avoid events that are not beneficial to them.

Penny gets information from one of their spies who is disguised as one of the soldiers following Edmud at this time.

According to the spy's information, Edmud made a pact with several demons in a ritual that killed more than 1000 people of the Kingdom of Victoria.

So now Edmud is no longer an ordinary human, but a demon monster that lives in his body.

Seeing Edmud's shadow yesterday, Penny realized that Edward had been provoked by the burning anger, hatred, and lust for revenge against Edmud.

Realizing that, Penny must immediately make Edward avoid the fight of the brothers who will certainly make Edward injured or even killed.

Now Edward is no match for Edmud, the difference in strength of ordinary humans with demonic monsters is very far.

Even the Edward-Lucius duo would be very easily subdued by Edmud.

They had to hurry to avoid the pursuit of Edmud's men who were after Edward to kill him.

After 30 minutes of waiting, there was finally a flash of torch light from Edward coming in a makeshift outfit with Penny whose face was flushed next to Edward.

Edward also understands why Penny did it to him, in order to prevent Edward from being injured or even killed by Edmud.

That's why Edward kissed Penny's lips and hugged her as a deep thank you.

Under the bright moonlight, Edward decided to leave at once.

“Teams! Depart!” Edward's orders when he had climbed his horse without his armor protecting his body.

Edward and his troops again went south to ask the help of Queen Vonsgarl, from the Dwarf Country.

But they must first pass Death Valley inhabited by Orc bandits, some cities belonging to the Empress Kingdom, and finally the Sea of Dragon’s Cross which is famous for the ferocity of the waves.

Along the way through the quiet and dark forest, Edward forbade his troops to light torches in order to avoid the ambush of the enemy who had prepared.

Right now Edward and his troops were making no sound at all, only a gentle stomp of a horse's foot that hit the ground, the sound of an owl from the darkness of the forest, he said, and the sound of water flowing down their right side.

After an hour of travel, Edward had begun to feel that the surrounding conditions were safe because Edward and Lucius had not detected the movements of the assassins or other enemies around them.

“Penny?” Call Edward to look behind his body.

Edward began to feel awkward because Penny did not dare to look into his eyes since Edward kissed her lips and hugged her warmly before.

“Y ... a, Ed .. ward?” Penny's voice stuttered with teeth snapped.

Penny is currently sitting behind Edward, on the same horse as they both did not buy a horse while in Calderok City.

Out of curiosity what was on Penny's face, Edward ordered Penny, “Penny Warrior! You take control of this horse! I want to rest behind you!”

Edward got off his horse, raised his body, and sat behind Penny.

Edward wanted Penny to be able to sit in front of him so that Edward could see Penny's face clearly.

Now Edward is behind Penny, but Penny's face is still hidden from him.

“What's with his face? Why did he avoid my eyes? But really, she's so sweet when it's like this. I want to prick him. What if I pretended to hug her from behind and fell asleep on her shoulders? Brilliant idea!” Edward thought and began to pretend to be sleepy.

“Hoam.” Edward slowly stuffed his hand into Penny's clothing pouch, hugged her tightly and began to sleep on Penny's shoulder.

While lying on Penny's shoulder, Edward listened to Penny's heart pounding madly.

Edward thought Penny's heart was really coming out.

Slowly, Edward peeked at Penny's face facing forward.

“His face! So red! What happened to his face turning red like that? Even his nose was flushed! Penny you're so funny,” Edward murmured in his heart looking at Penny's face from his shoulders.

Slowly, Edward opened his mouth and whispered in Penny's ear, “apparently your face flushed.”

Penny instantly reflexes in shock by unknowingly throwing Edward down from his horse.

*bruck

The sound of Edward's body hit the grassy ground.

“Oh Edward forgive me! I accidentally,” said Penny directly down from her horse to help Edward stand up.

The whole army of Edward who saw the incident laughed and pretended not to see.

They knew that there would be punishment waiting if they laughed at the ridiculous incident.

“This woman is really crazy! Obviously he slammed my body with full force!” Edward murmured in his heart while riding his horse in shame.

The journey resumed awkwardly.

They had already arrived at a different forest than before.

All the trees in this forest are dead, no birds, crickets. Only the silence is blaring.

Accompanied by fog and moonlight, this forest is perfect for ambushing his troops.

Realizing how dangerous their current situation is, Edward immediately gave the symbol ‘T’ using his arm which in the military code of the Kingdom of Victoria means full vigilance.

“This may be one of the army of assassins that Edmud sent. Then now Edmud knew the direction we were going. But it is not for sure them, because they are not aware of our departure. I'll investigate it myself,” thought Edward and started putting up his armor, holding his sword, and taking out his shield.

“Teams! Wait for me at the end of this forest! There's something I have to do here!” Edward cried out decisively and got off his horse, standing alone in the dark forest path.

Hearing Edward's orders, his entire army drove on their horses, leaving Edward alone.

None of Edward's men dared to ask if Edward had said, “there is something I have to do here.”

It could mean either Edward would duel and return with injuries, or Edward would perform a secret act that his troops were not allowed to know about.

Right now the woods around Edward are really horrible.

After his army was no longer heard, there was no sound there, nothing at all.

Only a cold dark mist and a few tree branches came into contact.

Edward stood against the path by sticking his sword into the ground.

Edward took a deep breath and began to wait as he closed his eyes.

If one of the senses is deactivated, the other senses will be sharper. That was why Edward closed his eyes and focused on listening to his surroundings.

*wush

Edward heard the sound of a sword at high speed drifting towards him.

Realizing that, Edward reflexively lifted his shield forward.

*tings

The sound of the speeding sword smashed into his heavy iron shield.

Edward looked at the sword, a dark aura enveloping the entire blade.

At that time Edward knew that the one who was heading towards him at this time was a demon, not an ordinary human.

*Tap-tap-tap

The sound of footsteps walked towards him leisurely.

Edward still closed his eyes so he could ‘see’ more clearly with his ears in this puff of mist.

Finally, the footsteps stopped just a few steps ahead of Edward.

“Edward! Hahaha!” A woman-like voice rang out in front of him and it began to surround Edward at this moment.

The voice was heard everywhere, even from the top of Edward's head.

“Edmud, your sister is so stupid! He made a blood covenant with our nation! But we are more interested in his sister who is so charming. Oh look at this hero's face! I want to taste it!” Edward felt that the woman was starting to touch Edward's body.

But Edward still did not want to open his eyes, Edward still wanted to hear the meaning of this woman.

*wush

Edward heard another voice coming toward him.

However it was not the sound of a sword piercing through the fog, but rather the sound of a movement faster than the wind passing towards it.

At once, Edward heard a fight from the demon who touched him earlier with a figure who had just arrived nearby.

Edward closed his eyes, but a flash of light penetrated his eyelids so that Edward realized the current around him was so bright.

While they were fighting, Edward felt a gust of wind from something big in front of him.

Edward suddenly remembered a legend in which the Valkyries would protect the souls of true warriors in an emergency that would endanger the lives of true warriors.

With courage and conviction, Edward slowly opened his eyes after hearing there was no more fighting around him.

As he looked ahead, Edward saw the figure of a female warrior with flaming armor, a fiery sword, a shield covered in jewels, and with flaming golden wings spread out behind him.

When Edward saw his face, Edward immediately knew the woman and called her, “Mother?!”

“Edward, I don't have much time to explain everything to you. Now your soul has been recognized as a true warrior after passing the test of courage, tranquility, and confidence all along.

And that was the final test.

So that right now I have the right to leave my mother's sword to you.

These swords had their own souls, they could only be used by heroes whose souls were already recognized as true warriors.

I see you have to face your sister who is currently a powerful demon. I realize you won't be able to deal with it.

I will always watch over you from above and pray for you, my son.

Remember Mom's message, courage will defeat great power.”

Edward saw the figure of Valkyrie who resembled his mother flying up in a flash of light.

When Edward saw his hand, a sword lay in his hand.

In the scabbard was an inscription written in Nordic, "Sword Of Light, For Them Who Deserve."

... "Valor Was Your Power!"...
