First Victory: The Mountain Seraphine

The atmosphere around Edward became silent as all his soldiers had been hiding in the forest around him.

After waiting for a few minutes, Edward began to hear the thumping of the legs of the horse which were now in the driveway leading towards them.

Edward counted one-by-one the number of enemy troops passing by.

All of them numbered 100 cavalrymen, complete with swords, shields, and arrows.

“Everything! Check this place out! Nothing is missed!” The screams of one of the gallant captains sounded out loud from in front of the cavalry line.

When the atmosphere began to calm, Edward heard the troops shouting angrily, it seemed like one of Edward's troops was caught hiding.

Edward immediately gave a signal to Lucius and his Elite Soldiers to ambush them.

After all Edward's 15 men were ready, Edward immediately shouted, “attack!!!”

Edward had expected this to happen, with the elite troops with him plus Captain Lucius, so Edward was very sure that the 100 horsemen currently in front of him were nothing.

Carrying a sword and shield, Edward ran through the cavalry who had descended from their horses in the vanguard.

Beside Edward, Lucius who had held the sword and arrow on his back advanced together.

A fierce battle ensued after Edward and Lucius broke through the front lines.

Previously the enemy troops wanted to release arrows, but because of the dark conditions then they had to fight with swords.

Lucius and Edward advanced on the front lines in the darkness.

It was intended that Edward and Lucius be bait, so that the 15 Elite Troops could slash the enemy troops that were being diverted by Edward and Lucius.

The game and swing of the sword that Edward moved while fighting like he was dancing.

Each swing of Edward's sword managed to slash the side of the enemy soldier's body unprotected by the armor.

With a left hand that could not move too much holding the shield, Edward continued to advance and quell the enemies that were on the front line.

The 15 elite troops that ambushed from behind also managed to slash the bewildered enemy troops.

The enemy troops thought Edward's troops were very large because they were ambushed from front to back in the darkness.

Lucius was fighting with two captains of the enemy.

When Lucius fought with two enemy captains, Lucius jumped from the top of the enemy's chariot to one of the enemy captains and his sword pierced through the captain's helmet.

After sticking his sword through the helmet of one of the enemy captains, it stuck and could not be released by Lucius.

Lucius then took out the arrow that was on his back and aimed at the head of the remaining enemy captain right before him at this moment.

When the enemy captain swung his sword towards Lucius' head, the arrow in Lucius's hand instantly shot faster than the enemy captain's sword swing.

The arrow broke through the captain's helmet and left him lying dead in front of Lucius.

Realizing the two captains had died, Lucius instantly lifted the heads of the two captains up and shouted, “all of your captains have died!”

All the enemy soldiers who saw him instantly fled away back towards the direction they came from.

Edward, Lucius, and the 15 elite troops were not killed even though they were slightly injured.

“Your Majesty, you should not go to war.” Lucius tore off his clothes and covered the wound on Edward's left hand.

“I'm a real man, Lucius. I'm not gonna let my army fight it alone. Anyway I am still a leader who must give spirit to his troops.” Edward was immediately sprawled from exhaustion and pain.

As Edward's Elite Army was looting several horses and battle equipment from the enemy, they heard the sound of heavy and large footsteps heading towards them.

Lucius who noticed it instantly shouted, “Orc! The army! Perform defensive formation!”

Lucius recalled that now they were in a wild territory that legend says there were some Orcs hiding in the Seraphine Mountain, where they were hiding now.

As a result of the commotion while fighting against the enemy cavalry, it must have awakened the Orcs that were around them.

The mentality of Edward's Elite Army had been forged so hard that whatever was facing them now, they would not retreat.

That heavy move sounded approaching and approaching until finally a pair of 2-meter-high fiery red eyes stood in front of the Elite Army that was in defensive formation.

Edward and Lucius had once fought the Orc Race in the Forbidden Forest, and they had won a great battle that had been going on for a week.

But on Seraphine Mountain which is very far from the Forbidden Forest, according to a legend the Orcs who survived escaped to this mountain.

Slowly, Edward forced himself to stand up and walked towards the Orc.

When it came to face to face, Edward and the Orcs spoke Orc language that not many people knew.

It seemed like those Orcs were only distracted due to their noise.

The Orc also enlists the help of Edward and his army to save his brothers who are held captive by the bandit forces that plunder his place on Seraphine Mountain.

Earlier, the Orc told Edward that he had witnessed the battle between Edward and the enemy's cavalry.

“Guntar can't afford to fight alone. Guntar tomorrow help Edward! Guntar must save Guntar's brother from the evil bandits! Guntar go!” The Orc said to Edward and disappeared into the darkness of the forest.

All the Elite Troops who saw it instantly praised Edward's bravery for confronting and even expelling the Orc.

Throughout the night, Edward considered what Guntar had asked for.

While they were speaking in Orc language, Edward had asked for help from Orc troops if Edward had managed to save the Guntar brothers.

Although the Orcs were once a disturbing enemy, for ten years after the war the remaining Orcs never bothered humans again.

“Your Majesty, as Orc asked earlier to help save his brother, it seems that we should do it.

We can ask for their return by helping us to fight later against the Edmud Army. That was my advice, Your Majesty,” Lucius said when he saw Edward lying down and like he was thinking hard.

“Alright, Lucius. Then tonight we must prepare a strategy to face the bandits. We have to know the number, the location, and what they have. Send 2 of our troops to investigate the headquarters of the bandits who are in the south direction of the foot of this mountain, such as the information provided by the Orc earlier.”

After ordering 2 of his elite troops to spy, Edward releases his armor and begins to fall asleep.

The gripping night ended in victory from Edward's Elite Army.

15 Against 100 enemy troops, like something impossible. But under Edward's leadership, even the Dwarves could defeat an Orc.

When Edward falls asleep, Edward wakes up as Steph in the future.
