Themis, The Flower of Justice

Themis, The Flower of Justice
Chapter 16 — Sword and Magic(2)

Three years have passed so quickly. After Luminas made up his mind, for the past three years he had been earnestly studying magic from his mother, Selena.

Now that Luminas is six years old, the physical Luminas has been quite developed compared to the previous three years. For three years, Luminas only studied magic intensively. Selena never forced Luminas to learn magic as everyone expected, but Luminas continued to study magic not only because of people's expectations of her, but also for herself.

In search of the justice he wants in this world, Luminas realizes that he needs strength to make it happen. So that he could not stand idly by when he was endowed with such a great talent of magic, he did not want to waste such talent.

Luminas also often train his physique to maintain fitness and also for a kind of ‘asuransi’, if he experiences difficult and unexpected events in the fight.

After practicing his magic and physique regularly, the last three years Luminas' physique has grown tremendously well. He felt that his body was the most ideal body for a six-year-old little girl.

With his ideal physique, Luminas feels that he is currently able to learn to sword from Scott. He felt that practicing the sword was a must. Because if he were to experience a close combat, then it would become much easier.

“Then, let's start the exercise,”

Luminas lowered his sword gracefully.

“Good Mr Princess!”

Scott exclaimed at Luminas' statement.

“T-wait a minute, your majesty. Do you really have to learn to sword at the moment?”

Javis who saw the two men who looked like they were about to start training stopped him.

“Of course,”

Seeing Luminas' eyes sparkling with enthusiasm, he could no longer refute.

Javis who could not help but stare Luminas, turned his gaze towards Scott.

“Senior, but Mr. Putri—“

“ Javis, that's enough. If the Princess wants it, then we just have to do it. But Mr. Princess, before I teach you, we have a problem,”

“Problems? Is there a problem?”

Luminas is surprised to hear Scott that there is a problem in this.

“Yes, Princess. The first problem is that we do not have permission to learn swordsmanship from Her Majesty the Queen,”

“What? Do we need permission from my mother just to train me in sword?”

“Ya, Princess,”

In response to Luminas, Scott lowered his head politely.

“Then the second?”

“.... I'm not worthy to teach you. If you want to learn to sword, then you must learn from someone who has at least reached the level of ‘master’ in 'aura',”

“Ah, so like that,”

Luminas nodded in understanding.

He understood what Scott meant. He knows why Scott said that.

Luminas was the daughter of a king, of course if she wanted to get a lesson, then she had to get the best.

Also, compared to the rest of the royal family, Luminas remained superior to the rest of the royal family, even to someone with a special bloodline.

Luminas understands that Scott feels unworthy because of the status and also the talent that Luminas has. Scott was afraid that maybe he would teach Luminas the wrong thing.

“Fuh... It's okay, Captain Scott. For permission issues, let me tell mom later, and for worthy or unworthy matters, it's not you who decides. Let me decide whether you're worthy or not after teaching me,”

Hearing this, Scott became silent for a moment.

“...Understood,”

Short answer from Scott, ending their conversation.

“Good, then let's start,”

“Ya!!”

Scott and Javis answered almost simultaneously.

.

.

“Good princess, for the first time let's learn from the horses of the sword first,”

Scott first showed how the horses fought right to Luminas. Scott shifted both of his legs parallel to his shoulders. Then he directed and arranged Luminas from the way of holding the sword, the curvature of the hand, and also the height of the shoulder just to learn the basis of the swords.

Scott was skeptical that in this short time Luminas could learn anything from him. Usually people learn the basics of swordsmanship alone takes years. But if the time is only thirty minutes, he feels that learning the horses will be difficult at such a short time.

“So like this? Then look,”

Luminas accurately repeated the thing taught by Scott.

“!!!!”

Scott was surprised to see Luminas being able to directly practice it in such a short period of time. Not just doing the same thing as directed, but the sword horses shown by Luminas felt perfect. Scott was quite surprised that Luminas was able to do it perfectly in his first try.

‘Not only magic talent, but sword also?’

Scott felt even more amazed by Luminas. He had heard from the servants who had seen Luminas perform magic tests. They say that Luminas have a very great talent for magic.

Hearing this for the first time, Scott felt that it was common. As everyone knew that Luminas was the daughter of the grand lineage of the sun god and the Argaient magic family, of course Luminas had incredible magic talent.

But when he saw Luminas who had sword talent as well, Scott felt that the existence of Luminas was increasingly special. There were countless great people in swordsmanship and bewitching, but it was rare that someone who had high magic talent, while having high sword talent as well.

A lot of thoughts and opinions about Luminas swirled in his head. But he decided not to pay much attention to it and focused on teaching Luminas.

“That was so great princess, it was unexpected that you could do it this fast, even if the person was so talented, it was impossible to be this fast,”

Scott sincerely expressed his admiration and praised Luminas.

“.... Thank you,”

Luminas smiled faintly hearing Scott's sincere praise.

“Good for next is how to swing a sword, pay close attention,”

*WUSWUSWUS

Scott took out his swordsmanship very quickly, but was strong in each of his slashes. It was a swordsmanship that he had forged over the years to achieve this kind of prowess.

Luminas who saw this was quite surprised. In his previous life as Nielson, he had already seen various people with different talents. One of them is fighting talent. The one who has the talent of a fighter, then he can become a special forces secret organization sheltered by Nielson.

When he saw someone who had fighting talent swinging their knives at each other, it looked extremely fast and awesome. The blade looked like a flash of light that suddenly cut and tore through his opponent's body.

Like the swordsmanship shown by Scott, it was as fast and powerful as splitting the air. Although it was only a dull and thin wooden sword, the power released by Scott through the sword was very strong, even like being able to cut through a building wall easily.

“If you add aura, then it will further increase the destructive power of the attack technique that I showed earlier. This is not to accentuate the power of the aura, but the technique displayed,”

“Technics displayed?”

“Yes, when I slashed the air earlier, it was not as simple as it seemed. You need to pay attention to how you swing, the range of attacks, even the footsteps that You do will also affect the power that You will release,”

Scott ended his explanation.

“Good, I understand,”

Luminas nodded in understanding.

*WUSWUSWUS

After understanding this, Luminas did not perform the technique performed by Scott, but instead displayed a different attack, it was random and powerful. It might have been a random attack, but from the way he swung his sword, body turn, and footsteps he had all calculated.

That randomly launched attack made the sword technique that Luminas unleashed form an intricate trajectory. The direction of his attack was complicated, looking like it could come from all directions.

‘Next better combined with stab,’

After performing a few simple slashes, Luminas shifted his legs forward very quickly. He twisted his waist and then he pierced the air very strongly as if he was stabbing his enemy.

*Swosshh

The wind blows strong. The power resulting from the piercing motion of Luminas was extremely powerful, to the point of giving rise to a powerful gust of wind.

Not staying silent, after a stabbing move Luminas directly swung his sword to the side forcefully. Then he continued with a quick slash movement that looked like it was cutting through the air. The continuously connected motion of the Luminas looked like flowing water.

As if after he had pierced his enemy, he continued with a powerful incision so that his enemy's body was torn apart and slashed at them viciously.

Scott saw this with his eyes wide open, he could not hide the feeling of surprise that began to come often since teaching Luminas.

‘Excellent...'

Considering that Luminas was just starting out in sword practice, the thing that Luminas did was something quite extraordinary.

‘Although the movement is a little slow, but it is a very remarkable movement when thinking that he just started practicing swordsmanship.’.

Scott felt goosebumps all over his body, other than because Luminas did the impossible in his first experiment, it astonished him that the moves Luminas made were movements that could only be done when one had a lot of experience fighting using the sword.

Scott was amazed, because the thing Luminas did was a movement that took into account every movement he made. From the footsteps, the hip turn, the angle of the elbow, and the range of the sword have all been taken into account. Also, every slash he did seemed to be connected and flowing like water.

‘Hah... Not thinking... The Princess just learned to sword, but she is already capable of doing something like that?’

Sighing a long sigh, Scott shook his head.

“I feel that I'm ready,”

Luminas twisted his sword in the air several times then he stuck it on the ground.

A confident smile was plastered on Luminas' face, even the look on his face showed confidence, yet there was not the slightest hint of arrogance on his eyes. Only sparks of enthusiasm were visible.

Only fifteen minutes passed after Scott had taught Luminas. In that short time, Luminas managed to master the basics of swordsmanship mastered by others that took several years of practice.

Luminas looked at Dorothy who had been watching Luminas enthusiastically and excitedly. Then a thin light was painted on his face.

“Dorothy, let's fight,”

“...What?”

When Luminas said that, the wind blew strong.

Dorothy was surprised by this sudden challenge Luminas posed.

*Deg deg

Hearing the challenge from Luminas, Dorothy's heart thumped.

‘What is this? What feelings are in my heart? Why does it feel hot?’

Dorothy felt a strong urge in her heart. He felt that something strong was stirring in his heart. Inside him felt hot and his whole body trembled slightly.

But his body trembled not out of fear, but rather because he felt very excited to hear the challenge posed by Luminas.

‘What feeling is this? Is this what you call excited? Why am I so enthusiastic when I hear a challenge from the princess?’

Dorothy seemed to get encouragement from her heart to accept the challenge Luminas had put her to.

“Mr Princess, I shouted—“

“Wait for Mr. Princess!”

Before Dorothy could finish her sentence, Scott suddenly told them to stop.

“What's up, Captain Scott?”

Luminas, unhappy with Scott's interruptions, displayed an uncomfortable facial expression.

“Mr Princess, forgive me for being presumptuous. But I feel that the sparring exercise is too fast for now,”

“Why do you say so?”

“I understand if the Princess is excited about wanting to test your strength, but your opponent is Dorothy. He is someone who has high fighting talent. He has also been training for three years, while you have only been training for less than twenty minutes, you will not be able to be comparable to him. I'm afraid you'll get injured,”

Scott said that while kneeling down with a worried expression, he seemed to be sincerely worried about Luminas.

Luminas understands that Scott forbids him not only fearing that he will be hurt, but he also fears that the current defeat may have a devastating impact on his mentality that could affect the sword talent he possesses.

“I understand Captain Scott, you worry about me. But you don't need to worry, I can handle it,”

Luminas sincerely appreciates Scott's good intentions, bowing his body to the ground and holding both of Scott's shoulders as if to tell him not to worry about him.

“Captain Scott, don't worry. Anyway I can't lose to a stupid kid like him,”

Luminas glanced at Dorothy with a mocking expression.

Dorothy who was glimpsed by Luminas, suddenly she felt annoyed. Although Dorothy did not hear what Luminas said, she felt that she understood just by reading his face while glancing at him

“Hey looks like you guys are talking bad about me!”

Dorothy shouted while angry.

Luminas hears Dorothy's rant, but he ignores it. Dorothy who saw the indifferent expression of Luminas, felt even more annoyed.

“Haha, princess. What if we stop our conversation and immediately start our fight?”

Dorothy's face twitched, as if she was upset.

“As you wish,”

Luminas who was happy to see Dorothy's annoyed expression, he put on a mocking expression, saying,

“Wah, princess. Since you just learned to swordplay a moment ago, do I have to give in to you?”

Dorothy responded to Luminas with a sarcastic tone, her face looking increasingly irritated.

“No need like that,”

Luminas slowly walked up to Dorothy, and stopped right in front of her.

“Just take out all your abilities, I don't want you to face me with half-and-half,”

He brandished his sword right in front of Dorothy's face, as if he was challenging her.

An excited expression was seen from Luminas' face. Although he seems to be trying to hide it, Dorothy can still feel his spirit through his eyes.

“As you wish, Princess,”

Feeling challenged by the excited Luminas, Dorothy's heart thumped even louder. He was looking forward to a duel against the master he served.
