SIDE STORY ~ RANGGA

Introduce his name Rangga. It has sharp eyes and an icy cold gaze at the south pole. If there is a new friend who first knows him, he must think that Rangga is a proud person thanks to the look of his face as well as his iron speech. But the truth is not. He can joke and talk. But Rangga was more than happy to be quiet. He chose to be a listener rather than a speaker.

Rangga is the youngest of three children. Among his older brothers, he was the most reserved. Though his brothers are hyperactive and ignorant here and there. Until both parents confused themselves with the nature of Rangga who somehow decreased from whom.

Throughout his school days he did like a normal kid. Go to school, study, play with their peers, and do as many things as most teenagers do. But there's a different one. The difference is that he is always the center of attention wherever he is. Making Rangga so uncomfortable themselves when often stared at also sometimes followed by some students.

Rangga's popularity is not because he is a bad boy. Not because of an OSIS chairman or a basketball chairman. Not because of the genius children who often win OSN. He became a prima donna because of his cold attitude. And that cold nature that makes many students curious and feel challenged to conquer his heart. A pretty good face becomes its own plus point.

Actually, it is not only Rangga who feels uncomfortable. His own second brother who was only two years adrift on it also went along to feel bad. Because his old female friends always make him a courier. Whether to send a letter, flowers, chocolate, or some other object to express his love for his sister.

"Now! Chocolates from your fans!" Raka, the second brother of Rangga threw a crackle full of chocolate on his sister's mattress.

"Why are you given to me?" ask Rangga. Because every food intended for Rangga will be eaten directly by his brother. Rangga sincere-ikhlas only. He did not want to accept it nor did he like chocolate.

"It can hurt my teeth if I eat chocolate every day."

"Yes, put it in the fridge."

Then Raka put herself in Rangga's mattress bag. His hand he used as a pedestal and then looked at the ceiling of the room decorated with galaxy decorations, Rangga's favorite. While Rangga who is reading his favorite Naruto comics feels bad. Because he prefers to do his hobby in tranquility. And if there is his brother then Rangga does not guarantee that the calm will last long.

"Hadeh! Wonderful duh! My feelings are no less handsome. But how could they not see me? In fact look at you who the child yesterday afternoon who just can throw snot also still smell fast."

Rangga looked at his brother lazily. Raka glanced for a moment and read Rangga's mimic saying "Udah satisfied blasphemy?"

Living side by side has had many years making Raka also other family members know what Rangga will say even though only through his gaze. Just like a psychic family. No need to talk already know the purpose and purpose.

"Yet. What pellets do you use anyway? Can-can be girls on directly cocked. Even a girl as beautiful as Sarah can be clingy with you. Wonder!"

"Receive his fate" said Rangga with his leisure. It even made Raka grunt in annoyance.

Just for information, Sarah is the woman that Raka likes since sitting on the Junior High School bench. Even until they are now in High School, it still feels the same. Sarah never caught the taste Raka gave her. Just a friend, nothing more. Then when his sister entered the same High School as him and became a new student, he suddenly approached her just to get closer to Rangga. Then doesn't Raka have the right to be upset?

"Am I changing my nature? So quiet and rich that fridge. Who knows Sarah could like me."

"No need. It's also free until Sarah likes you. It means that he likes your pretenses, not your true nature. And can you guarantee that you are not tired of pretending? A relationship started by a lie will not make you happy. Just got a fake love."

Raka was not surprised that Rangga suddenly talked a lot like this. Because that's the sign Rangga is seriously advising his loved ones. And many of Rangga's talk is something that is rare, only issued at certain times.

Raka then sat down and stared fixedly at his sister's face. Then give it as blank an expression as possible. "Emm, so baby! Hugs can?"

"So!" Rangga shuddered in horror at seeing it. Suddenly he threw his pillow and right hit Raka's face. "Disease Bang!"

"Bad! Her brother's face was stacked with pillows! Fortunately my handsome face did not decrease," said Raka while checking her face.

"Thankfully don't wear shoes," said Rangga then put the comic on the nightstand.

"Emang's staff?"

"Why not?" said Rangga lightly that made Raka throw the same pillow back to Rangga's face. The difference is Rangga can quickly catch it.

Raka's position then equates with Rangga sitting leaning on the head of the bed. "Hadeh! The pain of love clapping one hand." Raka stroked her chest in dramatic fashion.

"Emang." The answer from Rangga was successful to make Raka surprised. He even turned his head just to make sure Rangga's face was joking or not.

"Have you ever been rich?"

"Either."

"Who's the guy?"

"Girl."

"Yes, it's Paijo! If the same guy means shorting your brain!" It felt like Raka wanted to drown Rangga alone. Being asked well made him angry. The answer is true, but not exact. That's not what Raka meant.

"Therefore. Temen fitting SMP." Of course, Rangga used to feel love even though it was just monkey love. Remember, though the cold of his heart is not made of stone. So it's natural that he ever liked women even if only a few months because he knew the woman already had a boyfriend.

"Who?"

"There is a point."

Hah, stop. Raka did not want to ask further. He then shifted the topic from talking about the past to talking about the present.

"So there's a girl you love right now?"

"There's."

"Who?"

"Mother," replied Rangga quickly without thinking twice. Of course, does he love women who desperately risk their lives for the birth of a Rangga?

"Haishhhh! Kill your own brother's sin no heck?" Raka was self-talking hearing the answer from Rangga

"Sin," answered Rangga briefly.

"Udahlah! I'm going back to the room. The innards eat the liver right here. Could have been high blood for a long time." Raka stood up and packed the chocolate that came out of the crackle bag.

"From that cake," murmured Rangga.

"What was that about?"

"No."

"Yes already. I'm leaving! Hye!" Raka came out of Rangga's room carrying her chocolate. Uh, errata. The chocolate belonged to Rangga which he took over his possession.

Talking about women who are liked is not right to be asked for Rangga at this time. I don't know, out of the hundreds of women in High School, none of them attracted his heart. Maybe because most of them approach Rangga based on curiosity alone and feel challenged to conquer it. No one really loves him.

Time goes by fast and unnoticed. Suddenly, Raka graduated and is now in college. Rangga then sat in the third grade. Take the bimbel here and there just to prepare for the National Examination, then the exam and successfully achieve good grades. Continue bimbel again to follow the PTN entrance bag, and lucky to get good grades again so he is now studying at PTN his dream.

"Are you sure you're majoring in language education?" asked Rangga's father when he told him that he had been accepted at his destination PTN.

"Yes yeah."

"SMA his IPA fitting lecture list of literature. Have no pity on the children's language, all are treated to IPA children!" knock Raka while eating the cake she just bought.

"Whose IPA was first entered?" ask Rangga to make Raka aware who is the mastermind who made Rangga music majoring in IPA High School when her initial intention was to enter the language department. Who else did it if not Raka the beloved brother who persuaded Rangga to enter the IPA only because if there is a difficult question can directly ask Rangga. They are clearly different levels. Must be different material. And Rangga who was unstable at that time with his choice just wanted to be persuaded by Raka.

"Hehehe, sorry!" raka said with an innocent look.

"If the mother agrees you want to take any major. The important thing is that you like and are in accordance with your interests. If you like it will sincerely cram it and do not break up in the middle of the road." Although it sounds an agreement but the mother's sentence also contains innuendo aimed at Raka who pretentiously majored in law just to look cool. And when you know what is learned, Raka immediately raised the white flag in her first year. And now he is majoring in engineering that he quite likes.

"Ekhm! Nyindir Bun?" raka asked while eating the lucky putu cake did not make her choke after hearing the subtle innuendo of her bunda.

"Well, if you feel shunned good! Learning is real. Don't make toys. I don't want that the science you're trying to find doesn't sink into the brain just because it's made fun of." The father's advice was intended not only for Raka but also for Rangga which he made as advice.

"Yes Well," answered Rangga and Raka in unison.

Six semesters have been through Rangga with many stories and experiences as well as very useful knowledge. Entering the seventh semester came the time he applied his knowledge to the community to apply tri dharma education. Where he will measure how deep the knowledge he has acquired.

Until the day comes where he will meet with people who will be his group partners. Who will be happy and difficult partner one is not ahead. Rangga was a disciplined person, so he was among those who had originally come in the hall. Not like Nala, his friend who hobbies once with late. So when he entered and did not find his classmate Rangga felt ordinary.

Then his gaze was directed at the girl sitting in the back while reading something like a book in her hand. Seen because he looked down and his eyes were moving to the right and to the left. When the friend to the left of the right, busy familiarizing himself he was still busy with his own world. Feeling stared at, the woman raised her head and immediately looked at Rangga's sharp eyes. Hurriedly Rangga averted his gaze by pretending to follow the conversation of the friend beside him.

"Hi!"

"Hi! Why?"

"No. Just want to make an acquaintance. Kenalin, Rangga," said Rangga while giving a helping hand. Just a small talk when there was already an introductory session.

"Oh, Astri." The woman named Astri returned the hand of Rangga.

"You want to go straight home?"

"To the canteen first. Hungry."

"Can I join?"

"May I." Like a tadung together, Rangga with the spirit of equating steps with Astri.

Whether this is called love at first sight or how Rangga does not know for sure. For sure he was very happy when he was near Astri even though he had only met for a few hours. When they were about to turn towards the canteen, someone accidentally hit Astri and made him fall.

"Hey! Careful dong!" exclaiming Rangga stared fiercely at the student who accidentally hit Astri.

"Sorry! Didn't see that. Again in a hurry," said the man who hit Astri earlier while putting his palms together as a sign of apology. Then leave in a hurry.

Rangga then helped Astri put his books back in the tote bag that had splattered earlier. When helping Astri, Rangga saw that there was a book that was very familiar to him. A small book with a slightly blurry paper containing several images accompanied by a conversational dialogue.

"Like the Naruto comics?"

"Yes. Why?" astri answered while entering the comic that Rangga was holding.

"I don't think we have the same favorite." The two of them then stood up and continued their steps to the cafeteria.

"Wow! Really?"

"Yes. I have plenty in my room."

"A new edition is there?"

"There was. Just bought it yesterday, haven't stopped me from reading."

"When can I borrow it?"

"May, just play to the house. Let me show you my collection."

"OK on."

The two of them also had an afternoon meal together accompanied by several topics of discussion. Most of them discuss topics that they both like. The direction of the conversation that one frequency makes them feel at home to talk a lot when originally they were both equally quiet. Until it did not feel dark and Rangga chose to take Astri home. Not just following him from behind. Just giving a sense of security.

*****

Not expecting it only took two months for Rangga to realize that he loved an Astri. Truly love, not the monkey love that he experienced back in Junior High. He even intends to bind Astri with a sacred promise in front of the witnesses after they graduate college later.

His plan began when their KKN day entered the last Sunday. Together with Nala and other friends he prepares the perfect plan to propose to Astri. The atmosphere is perfect and very romantic, the time is right, but maybe the destiny that has not been approved. No, it wasn't Astri who refused. But a reality that is quite a hard slap for Rangga.

Astri's pregnant.

Ja. Impregnated. A life lived in Astri's stomach. And that's what made Rangga so devastated. He was surprised, of course. Intentions want to surprise Astri even he who was made surprised himself. And what made him inexhaustible was Astri hiding all of this. All this time means Astri only makes a happy mask behind his suffering. There was a bit of disappointment approaching Rangga. Why was Astri not being honest with her?

In the middle of his heart, it was fortunate that Alif had won him. Prevent him from acting stupidly. For example, going to the highway just to look for angkot and looking for a former Astri who is out of nowhere.

"Try to calm down. Wudlu first let it be quieter." Rangga also followed Alif's advice and berwudhu in puskesmas mushola. After that, he went to see Alif again and asked for advice.

"Why Lif? Why has Astri been covering this big thing up to me? Has he not put his trust in me yet?"

"Gini Ngga, try to shadow you who are in the position of Astri. I think even to tell her parents is very difficult. Let alone telling someone else whose incident is still new he knows."

"Maybe he wants to tell you the truth, but the timing is not right. Probably because of the many things he considered. One of them is afraid you're dumping."

"Hmm, thanks for the answer. I know it must be hard for him to fuck it up."

"So, do you want to stop here or continue?"

This question from Alif continued to ring in Rangga's ears. He knows he's in love with Astri. Hugely. Therefore it did not take long to decide that he would still make Astri as his life companion. For whatever happens, it does not change his love for Astri. In fact, he should be happy because Astri's child will be present in their midst. A gift that Rangga sure is destined for him.

"From your smiley smiley face, I already know what the answer is." Alif then invited Rangga back to Astri's room to finish what had not been finished before.

*****

When Rangga's approval got from Astri, now he must prepare to ask for approval to his parents. The previously extremely confident Mental became somewhat doubtful after knowing how Astri was currently. Not hypocritical, Rangga would be afraid if his parents did not approve. Comeon! It must be very difficult to ask for this blessing to any parent. Even Rangga unceasingly prayed that his parents could understand him.

"The ladder?"

"Eh, is it Bun?"

"Said you were gonna talk? What the fuck are you talking about? From earlier mother same father waitin loh." Due to too much daydreaming and thinking makes Rangga forget that in front of him there are his parents who are waiting for him.

"Look, Rangga wants to say something to father and mother."

"Yes, what do you want to say? From that moment, but I didn't say what it meant. What the hell isn't?" asked Rangga's father who was getting a bit upset to see his son who never conveyed his meaning.

"Rangga wants to ask for something, Rangga wants to ask Restu father and mother to propose someone. Her name is Astri."

"What?!" Of course Rangga's parents were surprised. Returning from the KKN task even suddenly wanted to be disguised with a woman. Is it possible that his son was covered in the village flowers there? That was the first time Rangga's parents thought.

"Father same mother not ngizinin?" asked Rangga with a full circle. Afraid if it's true he's not approved.

"What the hell are you talking about? Yes, obviously mother blessing. Mother was just surprised, you who never once discussed women also never brought home suddenly said ask for blessing."

"Actually Rangga also just knew Bun, Dad. It has been two months Rangga with Astri, and we know each other. But Rangga believes that Rangga really loves him. Rangga wants only him to be Rangga's life companion." Rangga gave a serious look so that his parents believed he was not messing around.

"Dad is just as rich. If you're sure, you're happy too, I'll bless you."

For a moment Rangga can breathe a sigh of relief. But a second later his expression became worried for something. "Well, Bun, there's actually one more thing."

Seeing her child move restlessly makes the mother sit closer and rubbed her child's back slowly, intending to give peace. "What's wrong?"

"Actually Astri.., she's pregnant."

"Well?!" Hearing that father immediately stood up and hit Rangga to fall down from his seat. Misunderstand if his son has done something off the mark.

"DISAPPROPRIATE CHILD! IS THIS WHAT DADDY DID TO YOU HA?!!" The veins on my neck are clearly visible. Show how angry he is at the moment.

"No! It's not Rangga who is cheating!" Rangga tried to get up and held back the arm of his father who was about to hit him again. Mother also, hugging her husband so as not to be controlled by anger.

"Then who?" ask the father who is now somewhat calm thanks to the embrace of the mother.

"He was the victim of his ex-girlfriend. And I don't blame him. It was all beyond his will. And she's a great woman for keeping my baby. Rangga doesn't care about anything. Rangga doesn't care. And Rangga will still love her."

"Oh my God!" Mother who heard the words of Rangga can only cry. On one hand he was concerned about his son, on the one hand he was sad and proud of Astri. Fellow women must know how hard Astri experienced. And perhaps it was his son who would be the source of his happiness after such a long suffering.

"Mother blessing Son. Mother bless you with the woman of your choice. And Astri, he also deserves to be happy." Hearing the words from his mother made him very happy and immediately hugged her. Then his gaze turned to his father asking for an answer.

Just silence. His father was silent but did not refuse. And the silence of the father, Rangga regarded as consent. A smile continued to be imprinted on Rangga's face. While hugging her mother she is grateful that her path to having Astri is sanctioned. Just one more step. Yes, one more step he and Astri will officially become husband and wife.

A soul mate no one knows. First love does not mean that we will end up together. Old relationships do not guarantee their durability. Who would have thought that with just two months can be met with an actual soul mate?
