Uranium: The Jinxed Prince

Uranium: The Jinxed Prince
The Jinxed Prince 20's

Shawn could hear the roar of his own breath. The pale skin behind the coat is sticky by sweat. Blood soaked all over the clothes, flowing from both shoulders, arms, and then free-falling from the fingertips.

Drapery. Drapery. Drapery.

A pair of red beads followed the approaching roar, from various directions in the distance, encircling where he now stood, forming an impeccable 'fortress' so that he could not escape. The howl must have been a sign for the wolves that had been hiding, waiting for the call to attack.

Shawn turned to stare at the cliff where the alpha stood, empty. Maybe it's time they launch a strategy that has been prepared.

Breath slid from Shawn's lips as several wolves ran towards him. The lust of a predator is evident in the radiance of their eyes.

With his arms full of blood, with all his strength left, Shawn raised his sword again. But he did nothing, just staring silently at the predators running towards him.

Just as the wolves were still a few steps away, Shawn threw his sword into the air, distracting the wolves that were originally fixed on Shawn at the flying sharp object. Utilizing the gap, he quickly ran, jumped to reach back his sword, then jumped near one of the wolves that entered his distance of view.

"I think I won this time!" The boy's voice echoed clearly in Shawn's mind, as if he had just heard it yesterday. The words of a boy many years ago, when Shawn was still living in the Black palace, were, as he secretly sneaks into the garden of another palace due to stray—which Shawn then finds out is the palace of the first prince.

Srak!

Sparks of blood seeped back into the snow with the impact of a wolf. His heartfelt howls were clearly heard in the ears of those who were alive. Not with Shawn. The young man quickly pulled out the sword that stuck under the neck of the fallen wolf, right in the heart. Then he jumped nimbly, doing the same to every wolf nearby.

No matter the clothes and body that was covered with blood, neither his own blood nor the blood that splashed from the swing of his sword. Unconcerned by the weight on both arms that had not been fully accustomed to the weight of the sword, Shawn continued to roll out swing after swing as if it was the only way he could live.

Howling after howling sounded. Either the wolves were in pain, or they were angry because their comrades were injured. One by one lunged at Shawn from various directions, as if endless.

Brak!

Off guard, one of the wolves seizes the opportunity to take Shawn's body down. Shawn did not remain silent. Just before the predator's sharp hooves carved another trace on his body, the young man's reflex stuck the tip of the sword down the wolf's neck as deeply as possible.

Crash it!

Red liquid splashed. Some stained Shawn's pale face, making his net crackle. Others wet Shawn's clothes, joined by another red liquid absorbed in his clothes. The wolf's stiff body fell over Shawn's body.

Without wasting any time, Shawn immediately stood up. His sword instantly met with claws pointed sharply at him. But when the stamina of the predators is still fairly stable, Shawn can feel the energy in his body is almost drained out. Coupled with the injuries he had, Shawn's arm was almost no longer strong enough to lift a heavy weapon in the hand.

While still living in the Roldwix Forest, in addition to using magic, Shawn always fought with the help of a fransbeast who intertwined 'half' of nitrogium with him. No wonder despite still being able to survive, Shawn is very tired. Fighting with a sword and purely relying on physical abilities that he never really trained, certainly very draining.

"Prince, do you know the meaning behind the names 'Plutonium' and 'Uranium'?" suddenly another boy's voice came back through Shawn's mind. "'Lionheart' means heart as strong as a lion, but in the war 'Lionheart' means 'nuclear explosion'. In order to create a nuclear explosion, it takes the elements plutonium and uranium, which means that in order for the Lionheart Kingdom to stand firmly without gaps, Plutonium and Uranium must unite and must not contradict each other."

"'Nuclear explosion'" Shawn muttered on the sidelines fending off a life-threatening attack. Now he starts to get cornered. Both of his legs that were originally standing firmly began to drift off. The young man could even hear the sound of his own breathing.

Plutonium is a family of marquesses known for their sword-wielding shrewdness, and Uranium is the great blood that flows within the current members of the royal family. A nuclear explosion means a catastrophic explosion due to the release of energy from a high-speed reaction. The slightest bit of energy in the explosion could shatter a large city into dust. Half an explosion can destroy an empire, even to the ozone layer that envelops the earth. Although it has never been tried, but it is believed that a full explosion can even obliterate a continent from the map.

"...so that the Lionheart Kingdom can stand firmly without gaps, Plutonium and Uranium must unite and must not contradict each other" said the voice of the boy inside Shawn's head again.

The right corner of Shawn's lips lifted. "It seems that I am too idle of you, Young Marquess Master."

Shawn is Uranium. It is different from other uranium. It has an advantage that no other Uranium has: magic.

Breathing slid back from Shawn's lips. He had indeed been determined not to use magic since leaving the Spleen, and he had also refrained from using it despite being burned by anger while in the inn. Because outside of Roldwix Forest, unwanted things always happen every time he uses his power.

But this time, despite struggling with all his might, there seemed to be no other way. For years, Shawn had relied too much on magic.

The pair of blue neutrals behind the contact lenses were open. In no time, Shawn jumped and landed near a nearby wolf.

Cracks.

The silvery mana-coated sword pierced through the wolf's chest. In a split second, the magic power that wrapped the iron weapon froze the heart that was on the tip of the iron. The wolf's heart stopped beating, causing blood circulation to stop. There is no blood circulation, meaning there is no circulation of oxygen and nutrients throughout the body, which is the same as stopping the work of every organ.

The black pupils in the yellow bead were enlarged, before the wolf's stiff body finally fell on its own. Brucks. Indeed, it was not a cataclysmic explosion as usual a nuclear explosion. Suppose Shawn did a 'silent explosion'—'explosion' that happened secretly inside the wolf's body—because he did not want his magic power to be discovered.

The wolves that saw the unusual death of their comrades slightly stepped back, observing the lifeless body. There was not even blood flowing from that body when Shawn drew his sword.

Cracks.

The next second, the wolves could feel something hard gnawing at their feet. The wind blew, playing the black hair of the young man who was silently moving his fingers shrouded in silvery mana. The sword covered in magic power was not long idle, in the future it will be busy taking lives for the sake of life before him.

AAUUU!!!

Before Shawn could take a step, he was stopped by a howl in the distance. Shawn turned around, finding a jet-haired wolf that was still fit and free. All wolves look the same. Shawn recognized the wolf. His eyes were very different from those of other wolves. A pair of yellow beads that stared carefully and thoughtfully, the alpha, the pack's leader.

"Don't kill them." Netra Shawn is round. While the alpha walked among the silence, among the lifeless bodies of his comrades, and under the gaze of his surviving companions. "Say, what do you want, O Man?"

Indeed, Shawn did not expect throughout his life he could find 2 francbeasts that are rumored to be extinct. The young man took a breath, then exhaled slowly. The lowered sword that had been in a standby position since. Shawn's eyeballs stared straight into the alpha's gaze. "I don't know what I want either."

"really?" said the alpha. "Then why did you kill our people?"

"You attacked me first, so I defended myself" replied Shawn.

The alpha nodded. "Don't lie. I don't know about the other pack, but the pack I'm leading can't do that."

"However they did," Shawn responded quickly. "I intended to help the wolf whose leg was caught between the roots of the tree, but after being free, he instead attacked me, even calling for reinforcements."

The alpha blinked, still clashing with Shawn's red eyes. "How can I trust your words? Aren't you one of the hunters that's been hunting us for the past 3 days?"

"It's true, but I have my own purpose."

The two neutrals of two different beings were instantly fiercely gazed at so even Shawn said.

"Say your words are true and you do intend to help my pack members. But once he's safe, you're gonna kill him, right?"

This time, Shawn fell silent, shaking his head. "The wolf is still a child, I have no intention of killing children. Besides, it's my last day. I intend to leave after finishing something—"

THE DUAR!

Suddenly an explosion was heard not far from where Shawn was. An explosion that was even powerful enough to create a gust around Shawn. Though the original distance of the sound was a few meters from here, it appeared from a tall pillar of smoke that soared into the sky.

"It looks like your partner is in danger, O Man." Shawn turned back to the alpha. "Go away, I promise our pack has absolutely no grudge against you."

Shawn blinked, his net staring in the alpha netra. "It seems you know something about this situation?"

The corner of the alpha's lips seemed interested. He nodded as his eyelids moved down. "Now is not the time. All I can say is that you better leave before your current partner gets hurt."
