Chapter 18 - The Assessment of a Gourmet

Ryu came out of the room for a cooking match. He smiled happily, having already completed the selection and entered the next round later.

Tera who saw Ryu coming out of the room was a little surprised, she could take into account that Ryu entered into the room only thirty minutes ago. Now, it was already seen coming out with a triumphant smile.

“Master, is it done, the match?” Tera could not help but ask, when she saw the Ryu.

Ryu who heard the question from Tera, smiled lightly. Then, he answered casually. “I just won the selection, it turns out the original match is tomorrow.”

“Come, we are looking for temporary lodging for today.” Ryu walked first, followed by Tera who nodded behind him.

The two were now walking away from the Central Building of the Sian City. Their destination was now a suitable inn.

Twenty food appraisers were performing an important meeting. The meeting this time concerns a cooking match that will be held tomorrow.

“Vivi, so how about yours?” A man who was half old, asked in a heavy tone. That, because the woman called Vivi, will never approve a cooking participant.

“I just passed one.” Vivi replied with a happy smile on her face. The half-old man was surprised, he slightly raised his eyebrows out of curiosity.

“Did anyone escape Vivi the golden tongue?”

“This is surprising..”.

Various whispers of admiration and surprise were heard in the meeting room. The half-old man tapped on the table with one finger.

The room began to shut up again. The man then, staring one by one at the meeting room, his gaze was extremely sharp and flat.

“The discussion this time is complete. Go back to your respective rooms, except Vivi.”

The people who were in the room immediately lowered their heads and started walking out with bodies trembling in fear.

Seeing everything coming out, the man looked towards Vivi. “Is there any data on the person you passed it to, Vivi?”

Vivi was not afraid, she already knew the nature of the man. Vivi lightly provided the data about Joichiro. “This is the data, Grandpa.”

The half-old man was Vivi's grandfather, Elcia Georg. A famous Gourmet, he had ranked fifth in the fight between chefs of the entire Red Star Country.

“Joichiro? Strange name, do you not suspect that this name, just a pseudonym?” Georg said while frowning.

Georg continues to look at the data, he is confused by the name of the cuisine made by the person approved by his grandson.

“Fried Rice? What food is that? Cooking rice will be very good. I tried it once and it became hard and black.”

“Pfft, Hahaha.” Vivi couldn't help but laugh when she heard her grandfather frying a rice. Especially until it is black and hard.

“Grandfather, looks like you're cooking until it turns black. However, the cuisine of the person is different. It tastes really rich, even the feeling of the food is still in my mouth.”

Georg became even more curious now, he did not expect his grandson to be able to overvalue.

Vivi who saw the look of her grandfather, immediately stopped laughing. Then, he stood up from the spot and walked towards the plate of food he had prepared in the kitchen.

On the plate was fried rice made by Ryu before. Vivi keeps the food in a heating machine, knowing that the food made by Ryu must remain warm when served.

Georg looked at his grandson curiously. His gaze then fell on the plate carried by his grandson.

Georg is curious and can't help but ask, “Is that what fried rice is?”

Vivi nodded in response, then served the food right in front of her grandfather.

“Please enjoy, Grandpa.”

Fried rice entered his mouth, then Georg widened his eyes. She was completely bewitched by the food, she felt as if she was in the brown Rice Kingdom.

Georg keeps tasting the fried rice. He wanted to ascertain what the ingredients of the cuisine were.

‘Nation, eggs, but what is this... Why is there such a sense of excitement, like burning... Is there a better taste than salt?’

Georg knows it's sambal, but the sauce isn't like that. Sambal is hotter in the mouth and will never be used in cooking at all.

“Vivi, this guy... It seems to be able to process the name chili. I don't know why? This guy is a possibility, has abilities above mine.”

Vivi was surprised by her grandfather's words. He did not expect the men he met could compete with his grandfather even more than his grandfather.

“Vivi, your golden tongue name. It is not arbitrary, you have tasted various foods and only a few are worth your value. One of them is this Fried Rice.”

Georg looked towards Nasi Goreng, he was really interested in the food maker. His smile was clearly visible on his face.

“Tomorrow we'll be judges, right?”

Georg then walked out of the meeting room saying, “Tomorrow will be a historic day. That person, in an instant will beat the first seat later.”

Vivi was surprised, she was still in a daze watching her Grandfather. He did not expect that Joichiri, the participant he had escaped from, attracted his grandfather's interest.

Vivi smiled and she was also attracted to the person named Joichiro.

“Tomorrow we will meet again, Joichiro. Hope you bring good new food.”

Vivi then brought a plate that had no fried rice at all. He throws the plate to the right side, then the robot figure takes the plate and returns it to its original place.

The plate was instantly spotless when it entered the dish rack that was in the place.

Ryu and Tera were looking towards the inn she found. He entered the inn with a smile on his face.

Arriving inside, Ryu looked around. He was completely stunned by the cleanliness of every place. Although it was an inn, it was completely similar to the five-star hotels within the previous Earth.

‘Layak admitted, I did not expect that this World is really outrageous progress in technology let alone its development.’

Tera then walked towards the receptionist to do a two-room check-in. The receptionist nodded and made a choice.

“Is it VIP or VVIP, Mister?”

Tera looked towards Ryu who was standing next to her.

“Master, which one do we choose?”

Ryu himself was surprised. He forgot the rules in the inn. “Check-In only VVIP, we just want to sleep. Also, is there such a service?”

The receptionist nodded, then she said, “Semically you have a partner. We can send your spouse to your room. If there is no partner... Then we recommend to choose a pair.”

Ryu frowned. He was confused by the receptionist's intentions. “Sending my partner here? How to?”

Tera and the Receptionist looked at Ryu strangely. The receptionist smiled and answered honestly.

“We can call your partner, by means of teleportation trip..”
