Chapter 20 - Cooking Match 2

The entire Arena was silent, then Ryu walked out of the arena and headed to where the participants were. However, before he arrived, various participants ran out in fear.

Ryu who saw that shrugged his shoulders, he did not care and went inside where the participants were.

When Ryu entered things, he slightly frowned when he saw that there were only seven participants in added himself into the eight participants of the match this time.

“Oh, you entered the arena earlier.”.

“So very brave..”.

A man and a woman were walking towards Ryu. Both of them wear chef clothes with their own characteristics.

The man who approached Ryu had the Dragon emblem on his clothes, then it was written the Black Dragon Academy on the back of his clothes.

“How about we get acquainted, my name is Shimura Honda.”

Afterwards, a woman who approached Ryu and wore a dress with a sakura emblem, as well as the name Sakura Academy visible on the back of his clothes, began to introduce herself as well.

“I, Yuuki Yuna, come from Sakura Academy.”

Ryu slightly raised the corner of his mouth, then he started introducing himself.

“Greetings, my name is Joichiro, just a regular chef.”

The various pairs of eyes from the participants stared intently at Ryu Adam, they were all from the food-focused Academy.

“Hey, are you kidding me?” A woman wearing glasses stared intently at Ryu. He was actually shocked, when he heard of an ordinary chef without having any Academy identity appearing in the Cooking Match.

“No, I'm just an ordinary chef.” Ryu replied with a smile on his mouth. He was truly an ordinary chef, his words were not wrong.

“Better, you relented... The jury this time was heavy... Everything is high grade Gourmet..”

Yuna gave the best advice to Ryu. However, Ryu shook his head and said in a relaxed tone.

“Thank you, but no need... Because, my name has already been called to head to the Arena this time.”

All the participants were shocked, then they stared at the signboard that was going to compete for the first time. Joichiro and a man named Kunikito Masato.

Ryu smiled and then turned around to head out towards the direction of the Cooking Match Arena.

A man with a large and muscular body, as well as wearing the chef clothes of Shitsuki Academy opened his eyes and glanced sideways.

“Masato, carefully... The person named Joichiro is not as simple as it looks.”

A man who had a slender and muscular body frowned. However, he still nodded as he was confident in the person of such great stature.

Masato then walked out of the room. Inside the room, everyone immediately stared outside. They want to see the first game.

Ryu arrived and headed towards the left cooking place, then he got an intense gaze from the direction of the judges table.

Ryu stared at the judges and raised his eyebrows when he saw Vivi and Georg staring at him intensely.

She was curious, but now her focus was on cooking and touching the iron table that would be her kitchen for a while.

“Truly complete equipment and groceries... However, it looks like the dishes that should be served follow the criteria that will appear on the top.”

Ryu looked up, then looked towards Masato who had arrived at the iron table on the right.

The two looked at each other, Masato slightly bowed showing his politeness. So did Ryu.

Henji and Kanzo felt the intense gazes of Georg and Vivi, they both frowned and stared at the Ryu.

“Old Brother, is he the one you said made the food so good?”

Georg nodded, then a smile on his face was seen. “The young man, the cooking is delicious. I don't know, whether he only cooks one kind or the other.”

Henji then shrinks his eyes, he can then see the potential of the Ryu.

“The young man named Joichiro, I cannot judge his level... Most likely, he was an unknown cook. However, his skills are great.”

Henji is uncertain, he doubts Georg's previous remarks. However, when he saw the person directly, he finally understood... That Ryu had potential that he could not guess.

Georg nodded and added a sentence from Henji. “You're right, I'm originally from my granddaughter. At first I did not believe it, but seeing my own Grandchild judging, means true.”

Kanzo nodded, he understood the situation now. However, a golden tongue is something that can judge the good and bad of a food. The tongue cannot make the owner lie.

The three jurors nodded in agreement with Henji's remarks. They really wait for how the taste and manufacture of Ryu cuisine.

“Alright, let's take a look at the Theme for the cuisine this time is...” The host stared up, looking at the board that was determining the theme for this cooking event.

The board stopped, The host smiled and said loudly. “Fish.”

Instantly, a huge fish appeared from under the iron table. Ryu was a little surprised, but did not appear on the surface.

The fish that appeared was Tuna Fish, Ryu who was staring at the fish nodded. He understood what he wanted to cook this time.

“Alright, the match only has one hour. Please, start cooking it.”

Masato quickly began to slice and divide between the flesh and bone. He set aside the bones, even though there was some meat.

Ryu himself did not move, he stared at Masato while frowning. There was only one word in his mind for now.

Wasting.

Masato began to season the meat of the fish. Then, he slightly glanced towards Ryu. He had not expected to see his opponent completely motionless and not pick up any equipment.

The jury, the audience, even the host were also confused by Ryu's behavior. The audience shook their heads and thought Ryu had given up.

The four jurors looked towards what the Ryu was staring at. They narrowed their eyes and saw that Ryu was focusing towards Masato.

The four of them did not know, what was strange about Masato. Henji then asked, “Did he give up?”

Georg and Kanzo are confused as to what to answer... Vivi herself replied seriously. “No.”

Henji, Georg, and Kanzo glanced at Vivi, then listened back to Vivi.

“Try to see the focus of the person..” The three judges who heard Vivi's words, immediately looked towards Ryu and saw the young man's focus.

The three instantly widened their eyes, what Ryu stared at was not the way of workmanship from Masato but the thing most often forgotten by a chef.

“This child, don't-don't.”.

“But, that is impossible..”.

“It's true... Better, let's wait first..”.

Thirty minutes passed, Ryu was still calm and did not hold any tools. Masato himself was done in making the dishes.

He was now looking towards Ryu and frowned, when he saw the Tuna Fish that was still intact without being held.

“Ohhh... Chef Masato had already finished his cooking... Now live Chef Joichiro, will you start cooking or give up?”

Ryu who heard that, only smiled then walked towards Masato's Iron Table.

The spectators raised their eyebrows, they were curious as to what the Ryu would do.

However, they instantly widened his eyes... Even the host was a little surprised, the jury was also surprised.

What Ryu does is take the rest of the cooking ingredients used by Masato.

“What are you doing?” Masato asked in a tone full of surprise. She did not expect Ryu to take the leftovers he was using.

“I'll show you.. What is the meaning of the word Koki.” Ryu said in a serious tone. The entire crowd heard the remark from Ryu, even though the voice was low. However, it can be heard in their ears.

Henji who saw that, immediately grinned. So did Kanzo and Georg. They both think one thing.

‘This child is very interesting.’

Vivi herself instantly overheard a sentence from Ryu. Then he thought one thing.

‘I look forward to your cooking, Joichiro.’
