When My Wife is Different

When My Wife is Different
Disillusioned

"Oh my God, Ratih. You're not papa?" tanya Irham approached the woman he knew.

"Kang Irham, help Train." please the woman whose face is full of wounds.

"Who made you this way?" iba Irham's.

"My husband, Kang."

"I helped you make a police report, huh..?"

"Don't, Kang." the woman hurriedly prevented Irham. "My son is with him, he'll hurt my son if I dare to report him to the police."

"But this includes persecution."

"Kang, help Ratih to find a place to stay, I really can't, let me find my son when I'm recovered." iba Ratih to Irham who is still desperate to help him to report.

"Back to Bude Yani's house?" ask the man to Ratih.

"Find the hostel, Kang. I'm not ready to see you."

Irham glanced at the clock on her phone. It's almost magrib. He did not forget his promise to his wife to bring him home with their son. But, he also could not bear to leave Ratih.

He immediately contacted his cell phone. Send a message to his wife.

The residence of Mr. Kyai. Dinar is still waiting for her husband's arrival. Ilyas was fussy several times because of sleepiness. Before finally the three-year-old boy completely closed his eyes. Dinar who was about to wear his hijab again was stopped when he received a message from Irham.

[Yank, Swan. Maybe I got a little late, because there was some business outside first with Dafa.]

Soft smile Dinar rising. Finally Irham gave him a message, thank goodness he did not have to wake Ilyas who had just fallen asleep after a few fussy times.

*******

Magrib Irham has not yet come. Dinar was still waiting patiently, until the sound of the bell rang the woman could not hide her happiness. But, as soon as the two-leaf door opened, the man who appeared was not Irham but Dafa.

"Assalamualaikum Ning Dinar. Mr Kyai is there?"

Dinar smiled clumsily, before finally answering as well.

"Waalaikumsalam, there's. Not call Abah for a moment." said Dinar.

"Satur nuwun, Ning."

"Sami-sami" replied Dinar who was about to close the door again, before he remembered something.

"Mas Dafa." call Dinar after hurriedly turning the body facing back at Safa.

"Yes, Ning?"

"Not the same as Abu Ilyas?" he asked the man who had been called Irham in his message.

"Gus Irham came home first Ning, he said there was a family need. If ana had just come home from the cottage because there was archery activity for the santri today."

Dinar's sweet smile turned into a wry smile.

Whatisthis? Why Irham lied.

"Oh, so. Yes, let me call Abah inside."

"Indeed, Gus Irham hasn't come home yet, Ning?"

All I asked was a smile. Dinar no longer answered, he stepped out of Dafa with a questionable heart.

*******

Nine o'clock in the night, the thin-floated man had just arrived in front of a tall gate whose door was open to him.

In his heart, Irham felt very guilty to Dinar, for breaking his promise.

As soon as his car was parked in front of his magnificent house-in-law, he hurried down and stepped towards the door of the house.

Slender.

Twice pressing the bell, a new door opened.

Irham was stunned when the one who opened the door was his own wife.

"Assalamualaikum." his greetings were immediately answered Dinar.

Irham stole a glance towards Dinar who kissed the back of her hand with reverence.

"Afwan, Yank. There was an activity outside the boarding house together..."

"Come, Mas. A shower! I'll have dinner ready."

Irham saw his wife's body turn around leaving him first. Not letting her finish her words, there was not even a sweet smile on the face of the 22-year-old woman.

Is Dinar angry because he's late?

******

After cleaning himself, Irham prepared food by Dinar.

Although Dinar continued to serve him but the woman's mouth seemed to be locked tightly.

Irham couldn't bear it. He wanted to ask if Dinar was angry because he was late to pick them up.

"Yank..."

"Zing, Gus. I'll take care of it."

Irham hurriedly turned to the source of the voice.

"Dafa.." - Irham.

Dafa was walking with his father-in-law.

Seeing that Irham was nervous.

How was Dafa in his in-laws' house? From the kitchen.

"Ma-eat Daf Abah." bargained Irham with a voice that was forced out.

"Well, it's Gus, it's the same Mr. Kiai, Bu Yai and Ning Dinar" replied Dafa Sumringah.

Hearing that reply Irham spit suddenly felt bitter.

His two in-laws also had time to greet him, of course warmly as usual.

Dinar still faithfully accompanied Irham, while Dafa had already returned home.

*****

Now they are in the room. Ilyas slept in the middle of the bed. The three-year-old has been sleeping since the afternoon, but there are no signs of waking up. Every Azan Dinar tried to wake him up.

"Yank, is Dafa here?" Irham tried to get Dinar to talk.

"Yes." Yeah." Whahuh? Just Ya'?

"So, I did..."

"Mas, I don't know why you're lying. But please.don't add another lie, I'm silent, so you don't have to talk much."

Irham was silent without a word.

Dinar slept next to Ilyas, pulling the blanket over his neck.

Irham. What was the plan to bring his wife and child home failed?

"You don't want to go back to our house?" no answer from Dinar, making Irham confused about what to do?

******

Dinar opened his eyes when he heard Irham's phone ringing.

Looking at the side of the bed, her husband was already asleep.

Dinar was about to close his eyes again, when the ringing of the phone rang again. As a result Dinar grabbed it for fear that something important.

The dinar raised the call from that nameless number. But, there was no sound there as the call he received.

When the call stopped, it was followed up with a message coming in from the same number.

[Kang Irham's. Thank you for helping Ratih find a boarding place today. Kang Ilham has never changed. Stay good and care about everyone. Sorry to interrupt the nights, Ratih just wanted to let you know this is Ratih's number, and I've saved the number Kang Irham gave me. Once again thank you Kang, for his help and the phone Kang Irham gave me, good night. Have a good dream.]

Dinar looked at the message and understood the meaning of his words.

So Irham broke a promise for helping someone? Why not dare to be honest? Choosing a lie that is sure to trigger a lot of lies?

Dinar was still clutching the husband's cell phone as the master began to open his eyes.

"Dinar.." call Irham in a hoarse voice.

Dinar turned his head, then gave the phone to the owner.

Irham accepted it confusedly. But, his eyes immediately widened when reading the message inside.

Yes, he was nervous and afraid Dinar misunderstood.

"Yank, it's not what you think. By Allah, I did not say anything to Ratih, I helped him find a place to stay....Yankees...Yank.."

Irham hurriedly revealed the blanket she was wearing, chasing after the Dinar that passed out.
