ZHAO JUREN'S LAST LOVE

ZHAO JUREN'S LAST LOVE
CHAPTER 5. Love Does Not Come

“Mr Zhao..”.

From the darkness came the voice of someone calling out to him.

The voice sounded familiar, like the voice of a woman whom he had missed so much. She knew now that the owner of the clear and flat voice was her brother's lover as well as her lord, but she was really buzzing when she heard it.

“Xiao Yi.”

Zhao Juren turned around, with a slightly breathless breath, a person stood a few steps ahead of her, with his white robe gently waving in the night breeze. He was like a shadow within the darkness, his robe becoming a blurry silvery overwritten by a dim light.

“Xiao Yi? Are you that?” Zhao Juren's lips felt muddled, she was terrified herself by her question, but a million yearnings slid along with her.

“I, Li Jin, Sir.”.

Zhao Juren was silent for a moment, her face felt hot on its own, a little embarrassed as she realized she was calling the name of the woman passing by in such a clear voice.

“Oh, You..” Zhao Juren's voice was slightly choked, though, he tried to cover the vibration of his voice that had been shrouded in longing and strange hope to find someone who still remained loyal entrenched in his own mind. Love is not until it is really impregnated despite trying to erode it by going away from the palace as far as possible.

Man can be as strong as anything, his heart can be as hard as steel but it cannot fight if it is a matter of feeling. Perhaps many people will scoff that a weak man will lose by his own persuasion. But Zhao Juren was truly undeniable, even though he was so mighty on the battlefield but when alone, he was just a lonely man.

Many years have passed several seasons have also been stepped on, the wind rippled through time, from long winters, snowstorms froze into ice white, and, the birds had migrated many times and returned until the autumn sun illuminated the earth with its gloomy light but Xiao Yi remained in the same place in the corner of his heart, not yet gone, and that really made Zhao Juren tormented.

“You surprised me.” Zhao Juren bellowed, brushing aside the shame that filled the surface of her face.

“I'm sorry, Mr.” Li Jin replied, flat and slow, acting as if he did not hear if the Master mentioned the name of His Majesty the King.

“What's up?” Zhao Juren's question shifted the conversation immediately, trying to be firm to dispel

awkwardness.

“Master, I have waited a long time in the tent of the master but you did not return.”Said Li Jin while approaching.

“What's really why? Is there anything we need to discuss again for tomorrow's strategy? Didn't we just talk about it with the commander of their respective forces?” Zhao Juren frowned, she knew that expression would not be caught by Li Jin's eyes, only that she was used to it if she questioned something.

“No sir, it's not a problem it's just that your dinner has been delivered to camp.” Li Jin said carefully.

Yes, Li Jin is the commander of Zhao Juren's trust and his best friend. He knew very well the feelings of his master and how he hurt himself by the feelings of his love that he harbored in his heart. Even after finding out that he had survived because of the life-saving pills from Xiao Yi's dried navel potion, the master often cried when he was drunk. Seemed to be really suffering. And his face returned firm and hard when he was in a conscious state as if nothing in this world could shake his heart.

“In me, part of my life belongs to the woman I love but never could have, how could I live with that. When I close my eyes even she looks so real.” That lament always left Li Jin at a loss for words.

Li Jin was the witness of the two of them being teenagers, how this master had grown up with such a harsh person from his loneliness. He grew up with a very hard upbringing from the queen mother Li Sui, almost three quarters of his day in equestrian, archery and sword training. The aunt who turned out to be his mother had made Zhao Juren lose her childhood and part of her teenage years to continue learning to be a tough fighter.

“I'm not hungry at all.” Zhao Juren's voice broke the silence, breaking Li Jin's daydream.

“Master should eat.” Li Jin insisted. Only Li Jin could sometimes force Zhao Juren to do something.

“I'm already full to see blood and death today, Li Jin. I don't have a taste for eating anymore."Zhao Juren's

glaring, he stared at the high sky.

“Master, all day long we have passed the battle, at least tomorrow the lord does not wake up in a weakened state due to powerlessness.” Li Jin said in a deep voice.

“I'm fine, Li Jin. And today I completely lost my appetite.” Zhao Juren still refused.

“I understand if the battle these few days is exhausting but how can we immediately end this war if the master is not in good condition.”

“I really want to end it..” Zhao Juren said similarly.

“How can we end it well sir if tomorrow it turns out the master to be sick?” Zhao Juren's sentence was greeted by endless questions from Li Jin who half persuaded his master.

“Heh, since when have you been so presumptuous to doubt my physique Li Jin?” Zhao Juren asked in an annoyed voice.

“I do not doubt the master at all, but as strong as the human body if it does not eat something then it will not survive. How not good if tomorrow our soldiers lose their fighting spirit because they see the master can not lift the sword upstream due to hunger.” Li Jin chuckled with his own statement.

Inevitably Zhao Juren grinned, he found it funny to imagine that word got out that a powerful general was leading the war by starvation.

For a moment they both laughed as if the dime they were talking about was a joke.

“I seem to have to eat later. It is a shame that in Yanzhi comes the story of the mighty Zhao Juren dying from a hungry machete not from an honorable death on the battlefield.”Zhao Juren said, He finally gave up on Li Jin's persuasion, even though he himself had no intention of eating anything tonight.

“But..”.
