"Where is Layla?!" My mind was already in the fog knowing that Layla wasn't in the house.
"What's up, BI? Why yell?"
Andre who was awake at that time because my screams immediately set his form from the second floor. He rubbed his face because he was still half unconscious.
"You see, Layla?" ask directly.
"No. I just woke up" replied Andre.
"Then where is he?"
Salwa who was then in search of Layla's whereabouts fell silent on the spot. He must have been afraid of the brutal call from me.
I've searched all over but no one knows where Layla is.
"What is Dharma?" This time it was Nada who asked about the situation.
"You see, Layla? He's not anywhere."
Tone down from the stairs. Didn't answer my question until he finished coming down.
"So he gave me permission to go home first. Is he not saying goodbye to you?''
"What?" I can't believe it. Layla left without saying goodbye to me?
"Yes. He was saying goodbye to me. I guess he'll say goodbye to you too" Nada explained again.
"No! Layla is not saying goodbye. Since when?"
"About twenty minutes ago."
"Who's with?" My toot. I probably took control at the time. To make Nada speechless not struggling with my question. He stared in fear.
I want to try to stifle the anger. But the anxiety is burning everywhere. My mind was full of Layla who was walking alone.
"Ber_with his friend. B-but, the Dharma Kang has already caught up with them. M-maybe he's already driven them back to the cottage." Answer the Strayed Tone.
I closed my eyes. Mind confused. Trying to accept but still not able to. How Layla could have done so carelessly when I was with her. How can I ignore me!
The sound of cars parked on the front porch. My eyes immediately waited for someone to come from the direction of the main door. I hope Dharma brings Layla back here.
Dharma came, and I immediately asked Layla where she was.
"He's back at the cottage. I just drove him," Dharma replied casually.
I let my emotions back out. I can't take it if Layla doesn't ask permission to go back to the cabin. Even people who knew about it said he was leaving.
Dharma is calming. Give a reason why Layla quickly returned to the lodge. Even so, my annoyance still exploded without me being able to control.
I immediately invited Andre who was already beside me to pack up. I need to see Layla soon. I have to ask him why he did it that way.
What possessed Layla to forget her sister?
Andre did not argue. He understood very well when I was angry I did not accept the rebuttal.
"You shouldn't blame people. Moreover, Nada has given a place for us. We're here guests, it's not polite what you did earlier, '' Andre tried to advise.
"Yes. I'm khilaf. I'm totally screwed with Layla's departure. I'm anxious..." I try to defend. Even if it remains the same. I was wrong.
"Yes. But don't hurt people's hearts too. You'll have to apologize to Nada."
"Yes... Just relax,"
When we're leaving. Dharma who had invited Nada and Salwa to breakfast offered us to join them. But I refused.
I express my apologies and also thank them all. It was only after that, that I left without fulfilling their request for breakfast first.
"I'm hungry, and you made me lose my breakfast today." Andre said after we were already in the car.
Our destination was none other than Layla's cottage.
"Yes, I'll give you breakfast later,"
"Because why Layla suddenly left. No goodbye anyway. Not usually,"
"But don't get mad at Layla later. He must have had a reason. As Dharma says,"
"That's my business. You don't have to interfere,"
"Ckk... That you when it comes to Layla is terrible, Bi. I'm just gonna lose my life,"
"Layla is my life, Ndre."
Andre was silent for a moment.
The road that should be fast why suddenly feel long? I don't feel that much at Layla's cottage.
"On Dharma, it seems like he likes Layla. He's very considerate of Layla."
Deg.
"Well! Do you think that's how it is?"
"That's obvious. At dinner he offers Layla a lot of things. He also suggested Nada to entertain us. It's never been like that."
I rested my elbow on the glass part of the car door. Nibbling my fingernails. My view ahead. But my memory goes back to what happened last night. Dharma was watching Layla. Even on the beach at the time.
Does he really like Layla? Or is his attitude toward all his friends like that?
But the events I see today are coincidental. The closeness between Layla and Dharma is not very striking because there is a Tone in the middle. However, if in detail again it is true. Dharma seemed to find a place between Layla's time.
"Ignore the Dharma first. Noh, Layla's ahead" Andre said.
My eyes looked for the figure that made me growl in the mist. He was among the children who were about to cross the highway.
"Stop the place in front of Layla. We take them to school" I said.
Andre nodded. He's increasing the speed.
Cieets...
The car stopped right in front of him. Without waiting for long I got out of the car. My eyes widened again because of the anger that returned. Although in my heart I was relieved to see that he was fine.
Layla and Aisyah were shocked by the sudden presence of the car before her eyes. Their eyes widened when they found out I was coming down from the car.
Without saying anything. I opened the back door. He told them to go inside
"Lake in!" My orders.
Without denying they both went inside. Many eyes are looking at us. But I just ignore it.
The car drove back to school. The atmosphere was silent again without any sound. Tension is between us. I have Layla's lyrics sitting in the backseat. He behaved as if nothing had happened.
Car parked in front of the mosque. Layla and Aisyah are coming down. They immediately ran towards their bazaar tent. I followed them too.
Arriving there. The tent is crowded. Most of the other bazars. Is this why Layla came home without asking permission. Because he is busy with friends. Still, his mistakes cannot be forgiven.
Layla immediately mingled with her friends. He was busy and ignored my existence.
A few minutes I let him do his job. Until Andre approached Layla and asked her for food rations. He could not stand hunger.
"Layla, prepare for me too, yeah..." Said Andre
"Not breakfast?" ask Layla wonder.
He must have thought I had breakfast with Nada and Salwa.
"Yet, you're worried about you. Let alone breakfast, drink me yet." replied Mas Andre.
His eyes then turned to me. I threw away my face. I'm still upset with him.
"Yes, I'm ready ..." Layla.
After that, he went behind the tent. It was only after a while that Andre and I were asked to enter the tent.
"I'm sorry, Mom... Today's menu is. Please eat" Layla said.
He gave us two servings of cooked roasted chicken rice with his warm tea. Without waiting for long Andre immediately ate it.
Layla was not far from us. Aisha whispered something in her ear. I don't know what it is. But after that, Layla went to the back. Then come back with the same meal and join me and Andre. We also had breakfast together.
