(NOT) Your Ordinary Lab Girl

(NOT) Your Ordinary Lab Girl
A Neat Screenplay

The sound of a driven gurney wheel rubbing against the painful tiles of my ears and making me succumb to a more alluring silent dream. When I opened my eyes, I found myself in a room I did not know. But from the clean appearance, the machine and the infusion in the hand, as well as the smell of drugs, I concluded that I was in the hospital.

Why am I suddenly here? I try to remember. Ah, explosion! Recalling the deafening sound and the earth shaking afterwards made me wake up from a sleeping position all of a sudden.

Clangs! My hand was restrained by the handcuffs on the right hand that tied me to the patient's bed. A nurse came to open the curtain that separated my room from the rest.

“Oh, you are aware, any complaints?” he asked friendly.

“Oh, Mm-I where?”

“You are being treated at Elephas Hospital, the health unit closest to the Case Event Venue.”

“I, was with a friend, do you know where he is?”

“Mr Remi?”

“Ya.”

The nurse then flicked the curtain to my left, revealing Remi who waved at me with a nosy grin. Thank goodness he's not papa.

“What more can I help you with?”

“How about the handcuffs in my hand?” I showed you those handcuffs.

“Oh, I'm sorry we just followed the procedure, because we found you both in a locked prisoner's car, so this is the handling you received. Until there are authorities who declare you both safe, the handcuffs will remain in your hands, miss.?”

“Meha.”

“Good, miss Meha. I leave you to take care of the others first. Because this hospital is now in a state of chaos for the first time. I never found so many bodies. Oh sorry, I talk too much when I'm nervous.”

As the nurse prepared to leave, I remembered something else.

“Sorry, nurse. Is it besides us, any survivors?” To be honest, I was afraid to hear the answer to my question.

“Unfortunately, the lucky ones are just you guys. That's what I read in the report. Be thankful that you are protected by the bulletproof body of the car. Because the ordinary car around him just fucked up, really messed up.”

Me and Remi looked at each other.

“Daniel... also tew4s?” I said softly, now officially I've just left behind among the students of the microbiology laboratory. Is the killer after all micro-children or is all this just a coincidence targeting them?

“Meha, some do not like the card opened.”

“True, how do they know if we've found a place to store Sera's body? OR, or we are deceived. That's the real stage, and just look at Daniel being the victim. Killing two birds with one stone.”

Remi.

“What does that mean, I who have fallen into his trap and followed his game without me noticing? Now that I think about it, Nina's first discovery of my Lab device, this killer is clearly begging me. Then the killer knew I would associate Nina's death with David, instead of finding David, instead finding the remains of Alice. Alice's discovery could be a distraction that allows her to act to remove Sera from the observation of the officer who spied on her.”

“Well, if it's true what your analysis is, it means that this whole series of murders is personal. Is there anyone you've ever taken his life from, Meha? Besides me?”

“I guess, no. I'm not good at socializing, even tend not to want to look for problems with people.”

“But I heard you were fierce.”

“Ah, the. Is it because of that?”

“Hey, I'm just kidding.”

“Hey, hey. Thought about? I told you to just joke, you're too stiff Meha.”

“Entahlah, but it would not hurt to look for all the possibilities. Remi, when you saw Sera's body, did you have time to move it?”

“No, I just saw from the plastic you've opened.”

“Hm, I am the same, all I do is untie him without moving his position. If the trigger for the explosion is under Sera's plastic bag, it may not need an insider to know if Sera's body was found. I can't imagine if the victims were civilians. The cafeteria is never empty during the day. This killer is no fooling around.”

“But does it make sense? You think this murder was without any message at all? If he doesn't want to be found out, he should have kept Sera's body in his cooling box. Or in a more private place.”

“Yes, it is too odd to call it a coincidence. This killer is too precise in making the plot.”

“I think the target is you, Meha.”

“Why? I don't remember ever making big things with people.”

“You ever resist crazy psychopath love?”

“Ha?! I never dated either. My life is too busy to rack my brain thinking about tomorrow. Where could have thought of such a trivial thing.”

“Sorry, I once accused you of a no-no.”

“Hm, no big deal. I've never dizzy with that kind of thing, remember?”

“You are a complete mystery to me, Meha.”

“Hahaha. For what, my life is ordinary tu-an Re-mi, nothing special.”

“Contrary to that, precisely that's where your attraction is.”

“The thoughts of the rich are indeed strange.”

“Why do you also always associate me with that? The money belongs to my parents, not me.”

I was pensive to hear Remi's defense, it never occurred to me if people's children could not be proud like him? Because knowing the creature named David Brown that makes me judge all children rich people as well as his behavior, likes to exploit the wealth of parents.

Several police officers came in a furious face towards me and Remi was led by detective Tom Hiddlestone with a mustache.

“Nona Meha, Mr. Remi. We have to arrest you now for the investigation.”

“Shortly, can I contact someone?” Remi chiming.

“Please, officer Arthur will escort you to the pay phone in the hallway. Miss Meha, I'm sure you don't have anyone important to call, do you?”

“Unfortunately no, Sir.”

“Unfortunately, it's gone, miss. Isn't it strange that the victims of this entire murder are your friends? And from the information I gathered, have all of you been at odds with you over one thing or another? Very interesting, isn't it? Dispute with you, then after it was found dead.”

“Whatever you say, Sir. But I guess that alone is not a compelling reason for you to accuse me of being a suspect.”

“Oh, at least until proven otherwise, we will calm down because there will be no killing.”

However I want to reply to the words of the detective, I also doubt. Because, although I am not the killer, I feel that the killer wants me to be a patient, and I have entered the spider web that he neatly spreads.

I watched Remi leave the room to contact someone, he delivered a message with a lip gesture to me that contained the word “all will be fine”. Well, I also want to hope so.
